Yesterday, I visited this salon for the first time. I made the appointment for the same day through their website, very easy and quick process. My stylist Kenya did an outstanding job in my dull hair. She was very warm and attentive. I selected the Classic service that included Shampoo, cut, blow dry and treatment. I haven't cut my hair in 8 months, and my ends were screaming for some love, lol. The hair mask revitalized my hair, and the layers brought it back to life. I debated on whether or not I would review this as I was always taught that if I didn't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, and I waited for a few months to see how it would turn out as it grew, but if you are spending good money, I figured I'd issue a warning. I made an appt in February. I specifically asked that my hair be cut all one length at the collarbone. The stylist insisted on face framing layers, I conceded and requested very minimal layers. When I walked in, my hair was halfway down my back. I'm not sure what was envisioned when the cutting began but this is by far the worst cut I've ever had. First pic - 5 mos later, second pic - inspo, third pic - just cut. 5 months later and I am still waiting for it to grow out so I can get the cut I had wanted to begin with. read more

Unsanitary establishment . I came in for a shampoo, cut and blow dry. Left with an itchy scalp. I didn't think anything of it, assuming it might've just been a sensitivity to the shampoo used. Here I am months later still dealing with an itchy, irritated, burning scalp. I thought it was just bad dandruff hence why I waited a little while. I took pictures of the back of my head and found red patches all over. It got so bad I went to a dermatologist who said I now have seborrheic dermatitis that was triggered by something at the salon. Not sure if it was a brush or comb or maybe the washing bowl at the shampoo station. I have to use a prescription shampoo on my head 3x a week to treat this now. To make matters worse, the stylist charged me $80 but the receipt said $60 so I'm pretty sure she pocketed $20 out of me. I will never be returning. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Also I was ignored by salon staff when I entered and apparently they had no clue that they sold me shampoo conditioner that stripped my color. Will never go back!!!! read more

First of all the hairdresser doing my daughters hair, never got out of her chair. She sat the entire time she dyed and brushed her hair. I was not quoted a single price of what the job would be. At the end my daughter got a small trim - less than half an inch off the end of her hair. The charge was $256. They charged me $48 for a " hair cut" , not a trim and added on $36 for a treatment we did not ask for. She also said she'd be using two colors to dye my daughter's hair and she used three without our knowledge and then charged us an additional amount for it. Shady, shady, shady . Anybody working at this place should be fired on the spot for incompetence. You're paying an incredible premium to get a hair cut and they can't even honor an appointment. I cannot stress this enough when I say GO TO DANIELLE FOR ALL YOUR HAIR NEEDS!!!! I've been going to Danielle for hair cuts for years but just recently decided I wanted to finally do something with my dark brown hair. Danielle was the only person I trusted to do this (I drove back up from Richmond to see her) and she did not fail me!!! She respected my "not too light and definitely not blonde" request and executed it perfectly. She did a balayage and added just enough color to make it pop and show a little bit of change in my hair. She's an INCREDIBLE hair stylist and knows what she's doing, I told her what I wanted and I just let her run with it. In addition to being awesome at what she does she's also so easy to talk to and very personable. She makes an effort to remember her clients and talking to her made the hours I was there getting my hair done go by so fast! She also recommend (affordable) hair care products to me which was great because most stylists will try to get you to spend all your money on the expensive products at the salon. Stay away! They do not know what they are doing. Mary cut my hair. I asked for simple bangs and she gave me this HORRIBLE cut. She did such a bad job and kept saying she was going to fix it but just made it worse. So upset, especially because they wouldn't refund me! I came in there looking like an Alpaca and I came out a swan. I immediately started acting different because I knew I would be mistaken for Beyonce several times before I got to my car. I broke up with my boyfriend because my hair was shining and bouncing in such a way that I knew I could do better. My stylist, Hilay, is responsible for the new me. Terrible experience! It's a shady place! Please avoid this salon and save yourself money, time and unnecessary frustration! I didn't not heed the low reviews and booked an appointment for my daughter for for shampoo and curl. We showed up, they gave a 35% higher price than what were told over the phone. To our disbelief the the stylist (Sanaz) told us that we'd have to come back later in the day because she has another appointment in one hour and she doesn't want to miss out on that appointment. Unbelievable! I asked since we made an appointment are already here if another stylist can do her hair but nobody seemed to care. Very unprofessional! I knew something was wrong from the start. She did not wet my hair well, did not touch my scalp at all therefore my hair did not get washed on the back of my head, could not tell where I parted my hair, she has mentioned layers and framing, my understanding of layer was face framing layers, not all over my head. I noticed her cutting layer in the back by then too late. I have lost 1.5 inches with unwanted layers. she never showed me or explained the results. I have to lose another 3 inches to get it corrected by another hairdresser. Measure twice before cut is something she must understand, CONFIRM prior to cutting. I never had 20 minutes service from the start to finish. I am asking bubbles to pay for correction cuts which require twice to get rid of unwanted layers she created by lack of communication and customer service skill. Stephanie was horrible. read more

On top of that, I appreciate the text message reminders of my appointments. I use to see Donee, but due to daycare issues Saturday's work better for me. So I recently started seeing Hilay on Saturday's. My first session w/her was for a dark balayage and LOB. Today, Hilay graciously came in on her day off to do my hair (after I rescheduled my appointment twice)! I am both grateful and impressed with her professionalism and talent! On both of my visits with Hilay I left completely satisfied with my service. I believe she is talented, does wonders on hair (and she does her makeup really nice too), and I appreciate her honest hairstyling recommendations. This was my first time going to Bubbles and I was less than pleased with the customer service, aside from my stylist, Lucy. Lucy was great. She did a great job on my hair and was very friendly and informative. With that being said, if you schedule people for 10a.m. appointments, you should probably open up before 10a.m. I walked up at 9:58 a.m. and there were two employees outside who were very unprofessional. They were very quick to tell me that they don't open until 10 and that they still had two minutes to stand outside and talk. They chose to take that time to loudly complain about the salon and people that they work with knowing that I was standing right next to them and could hear everything! It was completely unprofessional. Also, the woman who took my payment after my haircut was unprofessional and rude. She was not friendly at all and kept getting an attitude and rolling her eyes. This is my first visit with Donnee, she was ready to meet with me immediately when I walked in which was really nice because I had to be out of there at a certain time. She asked what I wanted to do today and I had a general sense of wanting to make my hair darker again, was not opposed to a fun color, and definitely wanted to trim the longer bits of my grown out style. I showed her several pictures, talked about cut and color options and said whatever you think is best...but she insisted that I tell her what other was looking for and said she'd tailor the desired styles to my face shape which is great! Because I have no idea what would look good on me! She was professional and knew specifically what she was going to do after our consult, she even priced out options for me to see what I'd wanted to have done...base color or not...highlights all over or not...etc. She told me what she was going to do and why, like she was going to trim in certain areas to lighten the weight of my hair and give it more body. When I looked in the mirror again after she was done...my first thought was whoa!! I look like a superhero! I need to think of a new name to go with my new hair :) I've always wanted purple hair and kinda went on a whim since I was freaking out about my hair before a business trip. I'm very pleased with my haircut I got tonight. I got beautiful highlights and a very clean looking cut. My husband loves it. I'm not pleased that my $140 highlights, cut, and style was marked up to $190 for products I didn't ask for. I thought maybe it was a full highlight or long hair fees or maybe even master stylist + one of the above. I was very disappointed look more closely at the receipt and see it was $35 for bonder and $15 for toner. I don't even know what bonder is, but at $35 I should have been told. I have healthy hair, a natural blonde base that usually doesn't need toner. If used at all, toner is usually part of the coloring fees. First time I've ever seen it as an additional charge. A $35 mystery bonder product has me confused. I honestly don't even know when this bonder was used or what it is. I would have declined both extra charges. $190 + tip on top of it, the husband does not love. If you go here, get a price quote beforehand. I have to think hard before going back bc I can't afford $200+ hair. read more
