Great place to shop and we all know what ulta offers but beyond pathetic customer service!! Someone needs to address this issue. I have been here 6/7 times and each time I feel I'm being watched. The manager here is a joke never welcoming never says hi or hello. 80 percent of the staff is just eyeing you and watching your every move I feel that is very disrespectful just don't want to come here. I have also over heard the conversations between the staff members once they were putting down of a customer that just left who couldn't express himself well due to language barrier. This place needs a full staff change. This stores manager needs major coaching. And please refrain from following and eyeing your customer. Even when you go to high end boutiques no one does that. My hairdresser at the salon I visit told me that she would recommend my buying hair products through the salon or through Ulta beauty. I am a deal Hunter and love looking for online deals, but she steered me away from Amazon. She told me that Ulta has a guarantee with their products, and that she would recommend only purchasing beauty products with that guarantee. She reminded me that when I purchase hair products online, I'm might not know exactly what is in that bottle. Although I never really thought about that,I guess that could be true!! That said, I decided to check out Ulta! The shampoo that I normally buy from the salon is 20 bucks a bottle, a bit expensive. Before heading to the salon to purchase an additional shampoo and conditioner, I decided to check online at Ulta. Thankfully, they were having a tremendous sale! I was able to purchase this expensive shampoo and conditioner at 40 to 50% off. I noticed that Eve and the original price without the sale was still cheaper than what I was paying in the salon. I also think that the more I spend at Ulta, the more savings through coupons and their buyer rewards program (I think that exists) I will receive. Also, it was easy to find a 20% off coupon. I definitely will check out their ample supply of beauty products in the future instead of purchasing directly from a hair salon. read more

I used to love coming here but not anymore. They are lacking in customer service. They don't say hi when you come in like they used to. No one really wants to help you. Lately when I've gone the employees are standing around talking amount themselves as customers are looking for items. When you ask for help it's almost like you're bothering them. When checking out they don't give you samples anymore. I loved trying the samples and sometimes would purchase the full size product as a result. I used to like coming here, it's closer than Sephora and sometimes they carry products that I need. The manager here acts strange and kept pacing back and forth with her keys making a loud noise and I felt like she was following me. She briefly approached me in a very hostile way. It was odd. The staff does this as well. It was very strange and never feels welcoming. I'm just there to buy makeup not be stalked. They treat normal customers like they assume they're going to shoplift. It's pretty awful when this is something I have never done and never will do. And all of the money I've spent here over the years to be treated this way is just awful. It's a shame they treat honest customers like this. They're driving away customers that buy things. This doesn't help the customer experience at all. Awful. I really don't know why I keep giving this store a chance. Everytime I walk into this Ulta I get NO help, not even a "hi". I'm not sure if it's because I'm a twenty something year old, dressed in athletic clothing that makes it look like I don't have money to spend here, but I never get offered any help. When I do though, it's when my mother joins me and within 2 minutes we're getting asked if we need help finding anything. My daughter was very excited to go shopping with a gift card she got for Christmas. When she went to check out the clerk scratched off the gift card number by accident making the card unusable. Even though it was their fault they did nothing to fix it and I had to then pay for my daughter's purchase. Ulta is my go-to for premium skin care and the latest products from mass brands. I love their no questions asked return policy. I feel more confident trying premium skin care products knowing I can return it if it doesn't actually do what it says. I haven't had to return anything crazy expensive yet, but I like the reassurance... Just in case. I love looking for new make up and nail trends at Ulta. They always carry the latest and it's hard to leave the store without some cool new find. My two major gripes about the store are price and service. Also, Ulta has specials all the time, BOGO, B2G2, 20$ off, weekly coupons, so just sign up for your Ulta Rewards Points to start your savings. I also buy perfume, hair products, etc here as well. They have a salon on site, which I have used for a hair cut in the past and they did a great job. I totally love my Ulta reward points, I have a ton and I keep saving them since they don't expire!! I am saving them for larger ticket items (Chi flat irons, blow dryers, etc). Do yourself a favor and go to Ulta! Lisa & her team were fabulous! I was in town for a wedding and mistakenly booked with an Aveda salon. After spending over $45.00 to style a short haircut that was horrible, I went over to Ulta and they took care of me. They knew exactly how what to do. I can even get replacement heads for my "god wand" (Clairsonic brush) as I call her.. You also have all your entire philosophy line (FAVORITE) on top of everything else your bathroom needs/ doesn't Ontop of their being a full in STORE salon The store is always clean and very friendly staff willing to help you find things!! The staff was very present throughout the store, a few approached me asking if I was finding everything okay. That part of the customer service was wonderful! The down fall of this store is the register customer service. I have visited this store a handful of times over the past 10 years. Every single time I go to checkout and advise them that I do not want to sign up for the rewards or credit card program they continue to pressure me. They will continue to ask for my phone number and full name even after I've said no thank you. The attitude instantly flips once they realize I am not going to give my info. They tell me I will not be able to return anything I buy because I will not supply my phone number of full name. I seriously dread entering this store and only do so when I cannot wait for a product to be shipped via online order!! I had a great customer service experience in Oct 2016, I had IPL laser on my pigmented spots on my face so I needed really good coverage on these spots, and one of the gals helped me tremendously finding the exact shade of derma blend. Then, I took my two daughters 12 & 14 there in March 2017 for their first eyebrow wax. Kimberly was fantastic with them! They really didn't need "shaping" due to their ages, but needed them "cleaned up". She really talked them through any fears they had, and the overall experience was professional and friendly. read more

Let me sum things up here. If CVS and Sephora had a child it would be Ulta. They sell a wide variety of cosmetics, hair styling tools, fragrances and there is an in-store salon. I love Sephora but times are tough and I think Ulta is a better value. Do I really need to spend $24 for mascara? At Ulta you have the choice to save or splurge. Check your RECEIPT before leaving the store!!! I found a $50 charge for a product that I'd never seen on my receipt. The bar code from the package & the bar code sticker were both scanned as 2 separate items. This item had 2 bar codes on it, so paid $16 and $50. When I showed management their mistake patiently, it was only refunded after they originally accused me of fraud!? I was in shock. I spend an average of $300/mth at this store, & spent $320 on that 1 trip, but the absolute neglect and disrespect was eye opening. I will never return & so much of my time was wasted. My biggest disappointment was the absence of an apology or recognition of true accountability on the part of Manager, Dana. Store is okay, but the staff was not very helpful. I went to return an item I had bought with a gift card and instead of issuing another gift card, they gave me in-store credit. This meant I couldn't use it online. When I expressed the concern, the worker told me to call the number on the back of the card and they would fix it. Drive time and the service call took about 2 hours out of my night for a problem I had to fix. REALLY disappointed in the salon's customer service. I like the store and if I were rating the store only, I would give it between 3-4 stars. Salon Experience: I have had 2 positive experiences with the salon here before. Went back again yesterday. (Had rescheduled my previous appointment this week and asked for a specific person and time. I confirmed these details before I hung up. I immediately added the appointment to my calendar...so I know I have the details right, plus I really NEEDED this date and time.) To my surprise, yesterday I was greeted and told I arrived early and they had put me down for a later time (15 minutes later, not a huge deal; although I was on a bit of a time crunch). They gave me a bottle of water (nice touch) and I browsed the store. I arrived back at the appointment time and....no service. The stylist who had greeted me before was working on someone else's hair and made eye contact with me. She then walked to the back counter and mixed up hair color. I get she's busy but at least acknowledging me or asking me to wait a bit more is fine. No communication. My stylist never showed either. It was awkward. I waited 5 more minutes and no acknowledgement. I couldn't wave the one stylist down as her back was to me. No one else ever came out. So, I gave up as I wasn't sure how much longer I'd have to wait or if I'd be acknowledged. I left due to two things: they got my appointment time wrong and, then, when I patiently waited and walked over at the time given, I wasn't acknowledged. I get they may be busy but communication is KEY. Otherwise, I don't know what is going on and I feel ignored or just a number. Yeah, I could have complained to management but I just felt like it wasn't worth it. I don't want to waste my time + money on the salon here again. Also, never received a call from my stylist explaining the situation. I wonder if she ever realized she had my appointment? Was she even there? Positives: good range of selection of makeup (low-end to higher-end), haircare, beauty tools, nail polishes, etc., large store. Brightly-lit. Negatives: Salon either confused or doesn't care. No communication. Customer service in the store as a whole is hit or miss. As another reviewer mentioned, it's staffed usually pretty low. I have had such mixed experiences that I cannot give them anything more than a 3. Whenever I have a full face of makeup and my hair done, I am treated incredibly well but if I am not dressed up, it is like I do not exist to the staff. I do not appreciate customer service that is heavily dependent on my appearance. Going in the store is fine and you can find what you need fairly quickly and it is pleasant enough to walk around other than having someone always following you. I took my nine year old daughter today for a haircut. I had not been to an Ulta before but they had Sunday hours until six. My daughter was donating over 10 inches of hair to locks of love and they said they could accommodate us. They gave her a free haircut and style , had the donation form and sent the donation for me. I LOVE Ulta. This store is definitely the best Ulta in the city. It has the best an biggest selection and is the best organized. BUT, Ulta is pricey and regular and sometimes sale prices are not competitive. However, if you use the store coupon that are ALWAYS available through store flyers and their website, take advantage of their Ulta Beauty Club and do your homework you can get insane deals and save hundreds of dollars. The staff can be either very knowledgeable or not at all and are usually staffed low but they are always willing to help. TERRIBLE customer service. Was in the store looking around for about 20 minutes and not one worker said anything to me until I was checking out. I also got my hair cut at the salon and was not impressed. The hairdresser did not do anything that I asked, (thinned, layered, angled around face, etc.) and cut my hair WAY shorter than I had asked for. The salon manager is a "master stylist" and will not let you forget it! She is very condescending and in my personal opinion, needs to get over herself. Need a haircut? Go to Lisa in The Salon! I went to her as a first time customer and she was phenomenal. I had kind of long hair all the same length with the exception of it being shorter in the back. I basically let her choose what she wanted to do. The only thing i told her was I was thinking bangs and she told me for my face shape a side swoop would look much better than straight across and she gave me the most beautiful side swoop bang I've ever had along with some long layers. My face looks a million times better with the cut she chose. She not only styled my hair she also showed me how to do it and what type of products to use that would be best for my hair. I also love that she didn't try and shove the products down my throat or put pressure on me to buy them she just simply said things like whatever brand i get make sure it has this, this, and this in it. I've gone to Ulta salon twice now to get my hair done and while the first time they did a great job the second had me in tears. Julie was my hairdresser and she did a good job on the color but the cut was awful. I asked for about 3-4 inches cut off and she ended up cutting off 10 inches. I am extremely unhappy with this especially considering after chopping off all my hair, she didn't even put layers in it like I wanted. I'm now stuck with an awful awkward haircut and I really can't afford to go anywhere else to get it fixed. She dyed my hair before cutting it causing her to use 2 extra boxes of dye and then charged me for having to use extra but then she cut all my hair off so had she done that before dying it there would have been no need to use the extra dye. To say the least I am highly disappointed and would not recommend anyone go there for anything other than a very VERY simple cut. In total my (horrible) haircut cost me $145. read more
