I went in with my two sons to by a birthday gift for my mother, as soon as we walked in we were not greeted (other Ultas always greet us) I was not sure what I was going to get so we were looking around. We noticed that one of the girls (Kristen) started following us and watching us. It made us feel very uncomfortable. I understand people probably steel from them, but I was there to shop. I felt very judged by them the moment I walked in the door. When we went to check out the same girl (Kristen) was very rude to us. She was very unprofessional and very snobby. They need to either get new staff of teach her about professionalism, cause the girl doesn't have it. I would recommend going to the one in fashion fair mall. They're very professional and very helpful. They always make us feel welcome at that location. read more

I've never been treated so bad at an Ulta like in this one. I came in looking to purchase a couple of items. I walked around and I was luckily asked if I needed help finding anything, about three times which is good because the employees acknowledged me. Now the problem was when I asked an associate to see if she can help me get colormatched for a concealer. I had chosen two for her to try on me. First she was all nice and applied the first one on me. Now when I asked her to apply the next one which was about a shade lighter she straight out told me it is too light for me, she opened the bottle and said "do you see how light that is?" With an attitude. I then proceeded on telling her yes but if she can go ahead and still try it on me, then she hesitated and applied it without blending it and told me to look in the mirror to see how light it is, then I had to proceed on telling her if she can actually blend it in so I can see more of the color on my skin tone. She then started using her brush but was applying it roughly onto my skin as if she was frustrated with me because I wasn't agreeing with her. She was extremely rude and fake. First she was happy to help but once I politely asked her to apply the other shade on me she was really rude. The customer service has really improved! There are plenty of people to help and the stock levels are better. And, best of all there's more than one cashier when it's busy!!! It's my responsibility but I sometimes forget that I have points to use. Sometimes the cashier tells me and sometimes they don't. I'd appreciate it if they were consistent and let me know I have points to use before they expire. I have been to this location pretty much once a week over the last 4 months because its in my new shopping area and it just seemed right to write a review. This location NEVER gets enough shipment in. I have been waiting for a specific item to come in because i can't find it online and i never have any luck! This location is always messy and mixed matched. So much product is out of place.The store definitely needs to be re arranged because it does not flow what so ever and its just plain confusing lol When you need help , it isn't hard to find... just follow the sound of circled employees talking about their personal lives lol The lines are usually really long and they will only have 1-2 (maybe 3) employees at register. read more

Everytime I come to this store to get my eyebrows waxed I end up getting turned away. Tonight I called and was told they wax eyebrows until 8pm. So I came in and the girl at the Benifit counter told me "there's no more waxing for tonight" to which I replied "oh okay. So when do you stop waxing?" She responded " eight...(paused and looked at the time) but it's almost eight so no more waxes but I can squeeze you in tomorrow" it was 7:39pm... "I let her know I'm not driving all the way here again tomorrow" then I left. The last time I came into this store was a couple months ago at noon and they couldn't wax me that day because the schedule was booked... the store was empty and the girls (3 of them) were standing around talking and seemed like they didn't want to be bothered. Since this is now a trend with this store, I will not be returning and will just take my business to a nearby salon instead for my waxing needs and Sephora will now be my go to for products because I have never been turned away by them or treated poorly. read more

I have never in my life .... so yesterday we went to Ulta to go buy makeup ...this was my favorite place to shop but now I don't think I'm gonna be going again .... we go in there about 2 o'clock get a facial done shop around buy some expensive face make up , curly Iron, some extra stuff then we stand in line pay for shit but we put the curling iron back and of course my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are taking their sweet little time at the cash register so I go stand in front of the door waiting for them and then I hear the manager (Brooke) saying to another person to go stand over by the aisle and other people to stand in place and as I'm sitting there she setting everybody up and I think "oh my god somebody stole something and they're going to run" finally my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are done and they come walking towards me to the front door and the manager stops my mother-in-law and tells her "before you leave you're going to have to pay for this perfume and we got you on camera we saw you taking the perfume and then dropping it in your purse and if you don't pay or run we've got the police outside waiting for you... are you kidding me!! Of course my mother-in-law doesn't stay quiet and tells her show me on the camera where you have me taking something and then they went to the back ...as we were waiting in the doorway they told me and my sister to wait outside I told them we refused to go outside and wait for her because I was not going to go wait in 97° weather, so the police came in and start questioning us what was going on and asked to see inside of our purses and ask for our ID's which we cooperated and let them look through our purses they ran our names as were waiting there next thing I know they are accusing my sister-in-law of taking it ...WTH... They know are saying the workers saw my sister take it and she starts crying ...I tell the cop my sister-in-law is DISABLED and doesn't understand what's going on now they pissed me off .... finally my mother-in-law comes out and she sees my sister crying that just made my mother-in-law even more mad My mother-in-law turned to the manager (BROOKE) and said "you owe me an apology for wrongly accusing me and making my daughter cry" the manager doesn't even look at her and tells the cop can you please come to back with me. Doesn't even allow my mother-in-Law to view the tape with them... 10 minutes later the cop comes out and tells us we are getting a warning and we are ask by management that we are never to come back to the store ever again and if we do we will be arrested!!! Omg this is so unreal right now...never in million years would I have thought this would happen. The whole time this is happening all the staff was standing in the front gossiping and not helping the remainder of the customers there. This is by far the worst store and so unprofessional. The management needs to be better trained and learn to approach people and do assume because we had no make-up on and big purses that we need to steal stuff. If we really wanted that perfume we would have went to MACY's where we would recieve a free bag with purchase! read more

I used the salon services in this location and was beyond happy with the results. The stylist was amazing!!! She listened to my concerns and gave me a cut that fit my curly hair needs. Listen, I tried with this store, I really did. This is about the fourth time I've been at this location and once again, no service, no products on shelves, and no eye contact. I grabbed a pricier primer because my go-to Bare Minerals was out as usual, but the cashier was too busy asking odd personal information for the rewards card (she asked for a birthday, and after questioning why she seemed beyond irritated to have to explain it was for a credit card.... If Im not mistaken, you cannot make someone apply for a credit card without first asking... It's all backwards!) for me to ask when the Bare Minerals product would be shipped in. She requested someone to check the back AFTER I payed for the expensive alternative. The next lady who exchanged it for me didn't really seem to care about anything and neither did the other almost 10 employees walking around. Except me! I cared! I guess I don't feel too alienated seeing as how a majority of these reviews are basically echoes of my experiences. I'm not a huge make-up junkie or pro but I came here to spoil myself and buy a couple of things I may possibly like because i've always heard how Ulta has a big selection of beauty products. I been to the Ulta located in Clovis about 4 times already and am disappointed with my experience every time! The first 2 times I went in there was to buy some makeup and foundation but unfortunately I only walked out with chapstick. I didn't get any help and every worker was busy with someone. My 3rd time was to buy a good face moisturizer and possibly a face cleanser and this time it was my worst experience yet. I went during my lunch break to make sure it wasn't busy. There was probably around 2-3 people in the store besides the workers so I knew I would have been able to get the help I needed. I started browsing and not 1 single sales rep greeted me or asked if I needed help. There was plenty of times a worker walked past me and just looked at me but nobody said "hi" or "good afternoon" or even ask "Is there anything I can help you with?" Finally after about 15 min I walked up to one sales lady and asked about a good facial cleanser she would recommend. She simply said "there's a lot of good cleanser's so it depends on your skin" and than pointed towards the clinique area and said "you can take a look over there or check out a couple of things over here" (pointing at another section) and than walked away to go finish doing whatever she was doing. So I didn't think much of it and thought "hmmm maybe she was just really busy" so i browsed more and seen another worker so I went near to wait until she was done but she was standing in front of the mirror doing her makeup. After that I was done! I literally walked around/near her for another 10 min and still nothing while she was still doing her makeup. So i just walked out and said forget it. I'd much rather go to Macy's or sephora to get any of my makeup! I am beyond annoyed with the staff here and still can't believe that they are that rude. I honestly think the manager or someone needs to go over their staff here and re-evaluate who they have that are representing Ulta as a company because they are not helping this business at all. Due to them not having good customer service or making customers feel welcomed I will not be back here anymore. This is one of the worst Ulta's to visit in the central valley! read more

I always go in knowing what I wanted to buy already. Today I went in hoping I'd get some opinions on foundation match. My husband went to Dicks sporting goods since he hates following me around any makeup stores. I asked this girl with a short Bob cut hair who works there a question. She directed me to it. And just left me. Didn't even ask if I needed anything else. I walked around looking for makeup remover and she just literally stood there arrogant and doing nothing. I can honestly say that the people that work at this store have little to no customer service skills. On one occasion I wanted to see if they had gotten their tanning kits in and the sales rep followed me around and said I had to do a return before I could look. I then had her show me first then she grabbed my bag and said you much return your item before you could shop. I have never been treated with such disrespect nor have I ever been accused of stealing. It should show on my profile how much I have spent at their store. I'm a platinum member. On another occasion, I was told they would not match a coupon I received from Sephora. This location is horrible! I asked two different staff members about a product and both looked at me like I was wasting their time. One at least went in the back then walked completely past me and went back to her station. Apparently leaving for 10 minutes then coming back out means the customer will forget the even asked. I finally found the only employee that stopped my one star review. Within 10 seconds she found what I was asking for and it was even a better deal. I haven't had any real problems in the Ulta stores that I've visited but today I had something happen that bothered me. I was returning two items with a receipt that I bought a few days before and the lady helping me just grilled me up and down about why I hadn't tried those products in the store before buying it so I would know whether or not I liked it beforehand. Most of the products that are set out as testers I would never apply to myself because of simple hygenic issues. I think that's pretty self explanatory. I mentioned to her that if they gave samples it might reduce a lot the returns they get, she said they don't have many returns (whatever). read more

I just want to start off by saying, if I could give this Ulta location NO STARS, I would! Not once have I been greeted or offered assistance at this location! I also seem to notice that the staff only greet and help those who are or look Caucasian. I hate to say they're racist but it's clearly evident by the way they treat me (a women of color) versus how they treat the white customers. And, this, for the most part, is what really upsets me and makes me dislike coming here. Because of the blatant discrimination, I have resorted to ordering all my makeup products online at Ulta for this very reason. This makes me very upset and sad. It doesn't have to be this way and I hope and pray that the ULTA headquarters or store manager make immediate changes after reading this. I know I am just one person but I have witnessed the same poor service here as many other reviewers. It is NOT ok. Give the staff some professional development training where they can learn to treat everyone equal and greet every single person and offer their assistance with a smile. Ulta, itself, as a company is fantastic! I love all the makeup brands they carry and I love their rewards system. I just don't love their customer service here in Fresno. I went into Ulta to get colored matched for new foundation and sometimes it's a hit or miss with the employee that helps me. But when I went in the other day Gabby helped me find some new foundation by Clinique and I absolutely loved it! She was so helpful with giving me some recommendations for foundations based on my skin type. She didn't rush when color matching me, and she took the time to make sure I was happy with the foundation. Also gave me some excellent tips on how to get rid of my acne breakouts. I also must add that the Clinique section was so clean, sometimes I go in and there's foundation all over the bottles, dust and so on. But this time it was so clean ! Even my boyfriend commented on how clean it was. If you want a good memorable experience go see my girl Gabby ! She is my new go to girl! read more

My wife went to salon here today and said 4 times make me blonde the stylist Erica ramariez kept telling her what She wanted instead of listening to the client she didn't have time to do highlights therefore was suppose to make black roots blonde to blend with majority of head already blonde in the middle of the color ericka decided to do while head the color ericka choose instead of just partial therefore my wife ended up leaving with red on top and less blind in bottom she paid and even tipped because didn't want to make a fuss. After leaving she went to Walmart to buy blonde coloring I talked her out of doing that to not mix chemicals instead she drove back to ultra to tell Erica how much she hated it Erica was gone so she talked to a manager who asked if she had a consultation ahead of time my wife said yes I said 4 times make me blonde then was told she is not the salon manager so I actually couldn't be helped until Tuesday. Wow first of all I don't want to pay for something twice however I know she won't walk around like this until tues I would suggest you tell so called stylist to listen to there people your not the one wearing it you don't deserve an opinion read more

I love makeup and Ulta. This store is okay for me. Sometimes it's a little messy and not fully stocked. I always see a worker around but there is inconsistency with help and friendliness. You get one star cause the staff in mine and my families option are rude and unfriendly. You really know how to make people feel like garbage. My 78 year old mother whom is very young at heart tells me she hates going and would rather do without because staff makes you feel like ur below them and their basic knowledge. I myself and my wife have also experienced this. The staff is also quick to try to sell you on anything they can but fail to listen to what the customer wants and or needs. More often than not the staff is also wrong and inexperienced with the products as well. If you must buy from here I suggest online to avoid the staff. I think I'm being generous by giving the Clovis location 2 stars...I went in today to purchase hair products and my daughter wanted to check out some makeup..so this trip had the potential to be quite pricy..well the shelves were very empty...absolutely no selection to choose from..the customer service was below even the basic standard...no one greeted us when we walked in and several employees walked past and never once greeted us or never offered any help what so ever...I do have to say the guy helping us at checkout was very friendly..I hope this can grab the attention of at least the district manager, if not corporate.. read more
