They do a great job with spiral perms and curly hair. My kid has natural curly hair. About 4 years ago they buzzed off all their curls and the new growth came in straight in many areas. I haven't gotten a haircut in a while and it was very much needed. I called before to see if there was a long wait. The lady told me that they weren't busy and I could walk in. I got there in 3 minutes and was greeted right away. She lady asked me what I wanted done. I told her I want a different look, let's cut off 18 inches! My hair was really long and it grows fast. The lady made sure she heard right and confirmed that I wanted that much off. At first she did half of what I wanted, still checking to see if I wanted to go shorter or not. I told her I wanted it a little pass my shoulders. She ended cutting exactly how I imagined it would look. She added some layers to give my hair some volume. She finished by curling my hair. I want to give this 0 stars but it's not a possibility. I went in to get my eyebrows done and they burned me with the wax and tore off my skin. She put it on my eyebrows and when she went to tear it off she was like "oh this is too sticky" and proceeds to continuously go back and rip off the excess, sticky wax with the paper. She knows it's not right but proceeds to use it on my other eye too, going back and tearing at my skin. Right afterwards she didn't show me with a mirror or anything and rushes me over to the counter to pay. I knew something was wrong because my eyes aren't usually stinging afterwards. If I can give 0 stars I would. Do NOT go here. I have not experienced a horrible haircut until now. The lady that cut my hair was Laotian. I asked to not cut a lot of my hair and for a bit more layers. She cut more than 5 inches of my hair off!! After returning home, I noticed that the layers are extremely stringy and not blended at all! They don't listen to what you want but rather do whatever they want. I will not be returning. read more

This place can not do fades. If you're looking for color or female style hair or simple haircuts for men then this the place for you. If you want a fade, they can't do it right. I can't speak on all the team here but 2 haircuts from this place has been horrendous. First haircut by a lady screwed my hair up. Last haircut last week with the new guy with dreads, great guy; however he can't fade for sh!t. First my fade was higher in 1 side. He adjusted. Normally they show you the back this guy didn't. Got out to my car and my wife said they f up your hair. She takes a picture from the back of head and shows uneven fading and a low fade. I hate going outside my norm. read more

When I arrived I let the woman behind the counter know I had an appointment. She responded with you don't have an appointment. I could see on the calendar where my request had been written, she rolled her eyes and asked the hairstylist behind her if there were any appointments for today. The woman behind her confirmed and said she'd be with me soon. I proceeded to wait 20 minutes before leaving. I went in there to have my hair done by Chi. Showed her pictures of the color that I wanted along with a haircuts. Wife sitting there I asked her why this color was so dark and she said it will be just fine. However it wasn't. Went back the next day and she said she would fix it. Now it is a brassy color. Asked for my money back and was told since I said it was OK, they will not refund my money. I mentioned to her that I had said that the day before also that it was OK. So I'm not sure what the problem is. She called me a liar and said I didn't say any of those things to her. Which is not true. Now going to get a hold of the owner and see what she can do. I use to not mind making a stop here for a quick haircut but now with the new management and staff, I'm sad to say I'm VERY disappointed in the service. I showed the stylist the hair cut I wanted .. well she cut a good 6 inches more than I asked for AND decided to cut my hair the way SHE wanted it. After she finished, she straight up told me that my hair texture is too different from the one in the photo and that I wouldn't have matched it. Side note, I have spotted that haircut before and it worked out just fine in the past. If you can't achieve a specifics requested haircut style, then just admit it and move on. I had to give a 1 in order to post this however I'm giving the salon a zero -0- I asked for a certain haircut and a color. Chi got me the wrong haircut which can not be collected. As for the color it was way too dark so I had to go back in the next day. She put some bleach on it 30 minutes later she was done and I was out the door. Color was still wrong so I had to go to another salon and have my hair done. When I asked for my money back she flatly said No. I would never recommend this salon to anyone. I will also be filing a grievance with the Board of Cosmetology. read more

I came in last week with my mom half an hour to their closing time and they greeted and took us in. My mom and I both got our hair shampooed and trimmed. Mai was the person doing my service and she is so friendly and relatable. I felt very comfortable talking to her. My hair trim was beautifully done and I cannot thank her enough. I have also been experiencing some severe damage because of swimming and excess heat but luckily Mai was able to introduce me to some products that will help my hair become healthy again. It's been a week now and those products really work with my hair. Mai was also very gentle with my head since I am very sensitive. My mom's cut was a little uneven. In the back of her head there are some spots where it's shorter than the other but she is still happy with her results. I will be returning to Mai. Thank you so much Mai and Spotlight! I'm a regular at this place. The cost is fair and I consistently receive a perfect haircut. Kim is my favorite and the most popular stylist, but expect a wait if you want the best in the salon. My wife and some of her coworkers are regular customers and my daughter likes them when she needs an updo for a formal event. Appointments are recommended for anything beyond a haircut. read more

Not a great choice. The price is cheap but the quality of the haircuts and service were bad. I asked for a normal haircut and then they buzzed all of my hair off. The buzz cut itself wasn't even proper. Out of the many haircut places to choose from I don't recommend this one. read more
