I've never gotten my makeup here, but this is solely on customer service. I'm here waiting for my sister's Halloween makeup to be done after 2 hours it's still not done. As I am typing this review and while they are applying make up on their clients, the reason why it takes so long is because their busy chit chatting with their co-workers rather than focusing on the client. I believe by all means, customers come first and not who's on your snap chat story. I'm no makeup pro wearer, but I am sure as hell it doesn't take 2.5 to apply makeup. If it did, I'd give props to women who spend that amount of time applying makeup. Definitely would not recommend mac makeup artist, sticking to Sephora. read more

I always buy my makeup here and have for years. They are usually really helpful. The last few times I've been in, it seems there are less employees working. It used to be that you could walk up and have one or two people immediately helping you. I think the loud music is super obnoxious, and hate having to yell over it to ask questions or say what I need. Maybe that's because I'm over 30, but it seems unreasonably loud to me. The last couple times I've gone, they've been out of what I needed. They will always call the mall kiosk for me which is nice, but then I have to walk all the way down there. If I can get what I need at the Macy's store, I'm in and out in a few minutes. I hate having to fight crowds of teenagers, strollers and random groups of people who crowd the entire walkways in the mall as I walk to the kiosk. Ugh! Anyway, their service is good and I love the makeup. Just wish a few things could change. read more

So I booked an appointment about 3 months ago for myself and my bridesmaids and I know it's 50 dollars per person for makeup. But they received a letter that it's 100 dollars per person for New Years eve and instead of notifying people I called to add another person and found out! 3 days before my wedding I didn't budget 500 dollars for my wedding makeup. I want to make something clear that it is not a free makeup service if you choose to get your makeup done. I called & spoke to two different girls at the Fashion Fair location as well as Riverpark. One person told me it was a free service, the other girl told me it is a 3 item purchase, the other girl told me it's $50. It is in fact a 3 product purchase which is usually around $50 anyway. That being said, I loved how my face turned out after I had my makeup done. I always love it. If you let the girl or guy know what look you're going for, or bring a picture, they can usually match it perfectly. I went to Jackie. I loved her, she was super cool & sweet & gave me exactly what I wanted/ hoped for. I brought her a picture & we spiced it up from there. I went out with a friend that night & everyone complimented my "contoured look" I highly recommend Jackie if you're going to get your makeup done! Terry also does a fabulous job, it's just been a while since I have gone to her but if I ever need or want my makeup done again I will request Jackie or Terry. read more

I have been to Mac a few times I mostly stick to Sephora simply because they offer different brands and rewards. I was talked into getting a shade of foundation that I had never got before I'm a nc 35 and the shade I got was just... wrong. I was matched in the store but after wearing it once I saw my face looked flush and had a pink tint to it. (My skin tone is pretty yellow) The next day I went back and explained that it just wasn't right for me. All it took was a receipt and I got my usual shade and they exchanged it with a smile :) The staff there is usually friendly but at times they can seem a little bothered but I think that's pretty normal. I have not shopped at Mac in probably over two years because of the sorry excuse for customer service. After 13 years of wearing Mac I got fed up with the customer service. And today just reminded me why. Waited around for 10-15 min before anyone acknowledged me to ask if I needed something, but ends up tending to other customers. Then had to wait another 10 min just for a rep to say "I'll be right with you". Sad thing is there were only two other customers around. This is not the first time this has happened. It just seems to happen at the fashion fair location. Never again. I'll stick with urban decay. read more

MAC customer service is always a hit or miss for me. Usually the makeup artists are very nice and attentive to my needs. However, I came in one day with zero makeup on so I could get a better color match & the girl literally put a little foundation on my cheek to see. My face is WAY lighter than my neck so I asked if she could blend it a little more & she said no. I did not ask for a full face of makeup, just a little blending. Mind you I bought $100 worth of makeup, I just didn't want to walk around the mall looking weird. Very odd of MAC employees because they are usually helpful. read more

The lady here was very helpful in picking the right colors for my skin tone. I really like the eye shadows and lipsticks here for long lasting wear. I love my MAC girls. They always make you feel like your welcome. No question is a dumb question. They always offer their own techniques on how to do things. They always share items and suggestions. The only thing is that they can become overwhelm with customers -so good luck with that. When they are busy, you will probably find yourself standing there acknowledged, but waiting for the next sales to help you. But always love the service. WORST customer service ever!! if your not wearing makeup or look nice they won't even look at you! I was there last night not one associate asked if I needed something. as a matter of fact I already had a list of things I was ready to buy with cash in hand AND stood in line for 15 minutes and not one person came up and helped! I was there last night with my friend. She forgot her foundation at home (lives in SJ) so asked me to go with her. I've never worn Mac in my life so when we got there I started checking out the lipsticks. Blanca (mac worker) was very helpful and sweet. She helped pick out great colors to match my skin tone. I walked out with $100 worth of lipsticks. I probably wouldn't have thought twice about purchasing anything had it not been for the excellent customer service I received. Well done! read more

As I was walking towards the counter, I was greeted by each artist I crossed paths with so that made me feel very welcomed. I was a bridesmaid for my friends wedding so I had an appointment for a full make up application. Shortly after I arrived, I was introduced to Natalie, who was my awesome make up artist that day! She was very sweet and listened to what I had in mind and made suggestions according my facial features, skin type and color. I trusted her professional judgement and opinion so I told her to have fun with it and it turned out amazing !! I got compliments all day on how beautiful my make up was. She used products that made my face have that nice glow, lasted all day and it looked great in pictures. I would totally recommend make up by Natalie .. I don't typically write reviews but on this occasion I had to let out my frustration. I have been wearing MAC matchmaster foundation for years. In the last few months I have been out in the sun more than I have in the last 3 years combine (exaggerating but you get the picture) I thought it was time to go in and ask for help finding a new foundation match and one that offers more coverage. I went in sans any type of cosmetic. I gave this place 3 stars because I was greeted immediately and the girl who helped me was very kind and I felt she listened. The problem, and reason I gave this place only 3 stars is the fact the foundation she picked out for me made my face a weird orange color. It looked good under their artificial light but in daylight I was orange. I googled the color afterwards and their were many similar complaints. Apparently the color she picked out for me is basically their catch all for WOC. read more

This last weekend I happened to be shopping with my mom at the Macy's in fashion fair and a girl at the Mac counter said hi to me and it made me feel really good! She was tons of fun and I really liked her look. I'm kind of funky and most mac makeup artists wear too much make up for my taste, but I really liked the way this girl did her eye makeup. She totally showed me how to do the same thing she had done and it was really easy. I'm going to go back to her when I get paid. She had really short hair and I think she said she was the manager. I booked 3 appointments for a special event and i ask for the earliest available. They said we will do makeup on 2 people 10:00 and the next one at 11:00. So I get there early, sure enough there not even open. We get in they sit us down ask us want we want done I showed them pictures of makeup looks. It hasn't even been 5 minutes when they let us know, that there not exclusive to doing our makeup there gonna be leaving us to help other people that walk into the Mac store! Are you kidding me!!! So I said then what's the appointment for? she apologized for that...... I told her that i had a very important event and that's why I made the early appointment and we had to be out of there no later than 11:30..... yeah right ... I really had high hopes.... and they were quickly faded away! not only did they finish with our make up at 12:45 but they were rushing the whole time, they were back and forth with customers and us. I had so much glue on one lash that my eye was irritated when I got home. so over all I didn't have a good experience at Mac, I will definitely NOT ever getting my makeup done! its truly a waste of money.... I paid $75 for mine and $68 for my mom and sister paid another $70.... when we all got back home we were late to our event and very unhappy!!! I ended up taking off the $20 lashes that I had bought there and throwing them away, one eyelash had so much glue it was ridiculous, I wish I would of taken a picture of it....... so don't waste your money and time, go somewhere else or do your own makeup...... I ended up fixing mine anyways. read more
