Let's just start off by saying I don't know the first thing about woman's hair however, I do have a daughter. With that in mind I am in charge of finding a stylist that my daughter will approve of and won't butcher her hair like Michael Myers on Halloween. So after doing a little reconnaissance I decided to phone up the shop and make an appointment. It was a Saturday and I was able to get an afternoon slot the following Tuesday. We roll up to the shop and it's in a bustling shopping center in Clovis. It's clean and neat and there are two ladies chopping it up inside upon arrival. I wait like 10 min and my kid hops up on the chair and shows the stylist a picture she found on Pinterest. They talk hair jargon and then I nod in approval like I know what the hell I'm agreeing to (I trust my 12 year olds judgment). She starts hacking away and doing Edward scissors hands movements and 20 min and 20$ later my kid lost about 8" of hair and looks good, fresh, and clean. My daughter approved and so did I. So they get a win in my book. I think the stylist name was Mai-Kahn, I'm sure I've played that character in Mortal Kombat. So be sure to pay her a visit and she'll be sure to have you looking fresher than a 3 punch combo. read more

Mai is really great and friendly. She definitely know what she was doing. I was a bit conscious when she pick up the razor and start doing my hair but the final outcomes is a bomb. This is a no-frills salon that keeps costs down for the customers. For a haircut, there was no shampooing...just a cut and blow drying to check for stray areas for $35. The owner works from her garage and seems nice. As for the cut itself, she gave me exactly what I asked for and it's growing out evenly. Very pro. I'll definitely be going back to her, and after seeing my cut, my mom wants to book her too! read more

I'm always a little nervous about getting my hair cut but I was very satisfied with my haircut by Mai-Khanh! She was really sweet and approchable as well. Although they do say that they take walk-ins, I recommend calling ahead just to check availability or to book an appointment first since the Friday I came in was already completely full. Incredible service and style and unbelievably affordable. I called all over town after I got off work and no one would give me an appointment. She stayed open after hours to get me in and I paid like $15 for the cut. She did me and my moms hair for $33 and they both looked great. My wedding is coming up I've been growing my hair for a whole year it's in two weeks so I was nervous about cutting my hair but I wanted it to have some volume. When I told her what l wanted and showed her a video reference(curtains bangs and face framing) she asked if I wanted it to be layered together or just the curtains bangs I told her I wanted it layered in but I wanted to keep it long. I have wavy hair I came in with my natural hair because that how I wear it most and wanted the cut to be to my wavy hair so it would look correct when wavy she straighten it before she cut it so know it'll look uneven when it waves. My hair was at the top of my butt I left with it mild back straight so it'll be even shorter when it waves I didn't want her to cut the bottom of my hair which I stated multiply times that I wanted to keep it long the curtain bangs are uneven as well. The hair still looks nice but I'm just so disappointed that I worked so hard with hair oils and everything to make it long for my wedding told her I wanted to keep it that long just for her to cut it. Also I never put heat to my hair so there was no split ends she needed to cut away and even if there was some I wanted to keep that length for my wedding. I feel bad for posting a bad review I would of asked her to fix the uneven length but i just didn't trust that she wasn't going to continue to cut it even shorter read more

Mai-Khanh is extremely kind, thorough and overall personable. This was my first visit to this hair salon. I was in dire need of a haircut and my normal hair place is still closed. I hadn't had a haircut since late-Feb, early March due to all the Covid-19 closures. Well I ran across this shop on Yelp and decided to give it a try since it is so close to my house. It's a hidden gem! Mai is phenomenal! She takes her time to make your hair (and you of course) look its best. I have been converted and will abandon my prior go-to place and now visit Mai-Khanh instead. I'm super impressed with her attention to detail and customer service. ***THIS PLACE IS DIRTY AND SPREADS LICE! STAY AWAY!!! ALSO: Mai burned my hair to a crisp and left it choppy, uneven and way too short. She kept snipping away at it and excessively straightening until my hair felt like straw. I couldn't wait to wash the burnt smell out of my hair when I got home. I couldn't believe the horrible straw-like texture of my hair. It seriously looks rediculous. She completely butchered my hair. I have thin curly hair and it was the first time a razor was used to cut all my hair. I'm just learning that this is bad for my hair type because it makes curly hair more frizzy. Damn, I wish I would've walked out the moment I started feeling uncomfortable with how she was cutting my hair. I did a little research on razor cutting and everything Mai did to my hair is the worst thing you can do. She razor cut my hair while it was completely dry. This damages and weakens the hair. I asked her if it damages the hair and she said no, so she lied to me. It looks like I have split ends everywhere!! She sucked all the life and shine out of my hair with the flat iron and blow-dryer. My hair can't be fixed. She cut it way too short and damaged it. Even after washing and hydrating it looks dry and stringy. My hair ALWAYS looks healthier after a cut, not worse. My hair was beautiful, long and healthy before she destroyed it. My curls are so limp and dead. read more

I called and they said I could walk in. (Extremely safe, masks are required, my temperature was taken prior and the seat was disinfected right in front of me.) I didn't even know there was a hair salon there but I am so glad I went. Tein did my hair. She shampooed, cut and styled my hair and I LOVE IT! She did such a wonderful job, she took her time and was so precise. She was so friendly and was really helpful.
