We ordered the chicken wontons that lacked flavor. The crab rangoon was mediocre. We never got the braised baby back ribs which we ordered and the waitress wasn't even aware. We were almost done with our appetizer before the drinks even came out, they didn't even bring us water as most places usually do once you arrive. The chicken stir fry noodles and pork chop fried rice were good. However, the main dishes did not come out at the same time. It was at least 10 minutes apart, and the place was no where near busy. Food was eh okay, but the service was terrible. Waitress no where to be found, had to go to the front to ask for things. Next time I'll go try out the Edison location. Would not return to Linden. Treated myself to lunch at Ugly Dumpling. This is a new location and my first time trying. It was a great experience. The restaurant is really clean and well decorated. It was a nice atmosphere. The service was great. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food came out quickly and at the perfect temperature. I had a spicy ginger margarita, chicken dumplings and shrimp fried rice. I will definitely visit again. read more

My daughter and I had seen a sign for one location of the ugly dumpling and we wondered about it. The name suggested someplace not terribly good or exciting, you know just OK and maybe slightly quirky. But my daughter looked it up and saw some good reviews so yesterday we decided to check it out. It's a very cool place, way better than the name would suggest. They have a standalone bar, which looks pretty nice, and then the rest of the decor is extremely well done, the kind of thing that is Instagram worthy. The food is fairly inexpensive - roughly $10 or slightly more for an order of dumplings or some of the other things. We each ordered dumplings and I decided to get an order of shumai as a kind of appetizer, since usually assume I are pretty light and tiny. We also got an order of the spring rolls. The spring rolls were excellent, with a really different and really good dipping sauce. The shrimp and pork shumai turned out to be much more substantial than I expected, but also excellent. In order of shoe, I would be a meal in itself. And the dumplings, which came in a variety of fillings and flavors, were also excellent. Definitely worth checking out - great food, very good service, and a really interesting and well done decor. read more

It's okay. Nothing special anything really. The place is huge and new. Food was very meh nothing stood out from the dishes we all ordered. Prices are meh as well. Staff were nice so hopefully they last but i don't see it surviving unless weekends stay packed. read more

Portions where pathetic at best. Service was good but literally sad little amount of shredded beef. And small portions of noodles. I would not recommend this place at all. Stay away from this place definitely do not go. You will leave hungry you literally have to order 2 dishes in the menu to feel remotely full read more

My husband and I don't to get out much because we have to younger kids and live far away from family. We are currently in town for Easter and left the kids with their grandma to have a date night so you can imagine how excited we were to enjoy a meal without the little ones. The atmosphere was very nice when we walked in and we look at the menu with excitement to have some different cuisine for a change. We order the orange chicken, chicken fried rice and chicken dumplings and two drinks-- espresso martini and a peach drink (can't remember the name). Our drinks came out in good timing and were great!! Then the chicken dumpling. They looked like brains and smelled wired. Both my husband and I had a bit and spit it out right away. It was sooo terrible that the waiter came back and asked if we didn't enjoy them and could remove it from the table. As we were taste them, the orange chicken came out so after she remove the dumplings that looked like brains, we tried the orange chicken. The first bit was okay, but we wanted to wait for our fried rice so we could eat it together. It was kind of annoying that the chicken came out without the rice and the table behind us who came after us and order after of us as well got all their food at once and before us. As we were waiting for the rice I decided to order some spring rolls since she took the dumplings off the check. Finally our "Chicken Fried Roce" came out and it did not look like fried rice AT ALL. It looked like steam white rice with chicken, eggs and green onions! We then decided to take a bit and it was not good at all and was slimy. We decided to add what we thought was soy sauce which turn out to be vinaigrette sauce( nothing was label) so now the rice is 10 times worst. We started eating the orange chicken again and the middle of the chicken was NOT cooked. When our spring rolls came out nice and hot, we took a bit and it was slimy and over cooked in the inside. The best part about this dinner was the drinks, the food was bad and taste like everything was warmed up from a box. Nothing was good. We couldn't wait to head to the movies to eat movie theater food. Which by the way had a really good flat bread pizza. If you want good drinks and bad food, then you should go here, otherwise save your money! read more

Din tai fung "lite" with low prices, less of crowd and no need to go to NYC. 3 of us shared shrimp fried rice, stir fried noodles with vegetables, spring rolls, pork soup dumplings and steamed bbq pork buns, mochi sampler for dessert for less that $80. Located in a distinctively bland strip mall, but once inside the restaurant you have a nice warm atmosphere. read more

This place is a knock off compared to Edison location. Servers keeps on pushing for us to order string bean appetizers, we want dumplings! Then they gave us soy sauce as dipping sauce for scallion pancake and for dumplings. We complained and the server argued that they do not have dumpling sauce and came back for more soy sauce, I'm asian i know the difference, we asked another server to give us the thick sauce for dumplings and we got it. Food is not as flavorful, will NOT come back, go to Edison location it is so much better. read more

My sister Julie and I had such an amazing time during our experience at the Linden location. Our food selection was very good and I couldn't get enough of the Garlic Soy Wings, they were to die for! Our waitress, Anise, was so pleasant and helpful/knowledgeable while placing our order. I asked for her opinion on the Lychee Martini and she highly recommended it and I must say, now I'm hooked! She was such a sweetheart and always made sure to come back to see if we needed anything or just to see if we were ok. The vibe , decorum, music, was amazing! Last but not least, Jose (manager) was very pleasant as well. He was very informative about every question my sister and I had about the restaurant. We also paid very close attention to his interactions with other guests and he was definitely one of the nicest managers that we've come across in an establishment. So THANK YOU Anise, Jose, and all the other staff at the Linden location for such an amazing experience. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK read more
