I don't write reviews for anything other than movies. if I have some good food, I'll talk about it with friends or family, but that's about the extent of it. this place changed that because frankly, I finally remembered what a great burger was. I was just in the area looking for somewhere to stop in with my loved ones, and I knew it'd be a good, tasty local burger, maybe something like Broiler Bay in Bellevue. Essentially, my expectations proceeded to be taken out back and shot thirty seven times, and then I was handed three burgers, some fries and tater tots, and each first bite I took I was blown away- and then blown away by the next and the next and the next until in a frenzy of meat and sauce it was gone. Some burgers are too messy to be worth the trouble. Ugly Burger makes messiness part of the charm. And frankly, if I didn't feel the deep rooted knowledge that we know and call "social standards", I would've licked the wrapper like it was an oasis of clean water after wandering in the desert for 40 years. I don't know what elixir they've created with this "Ugly Sauce" but I'm somewhere between 80-90% sure that I'm potentially immortal now. Well, time to go to college so I can get a good job to make money to support my Ugly Burger addiction and gas money to get there. read more

This place is a small restaurant but has BIG FLAVOR! The "fresh off the grill" taste was perfect. I got my burger well done and it was still juicy! We also got the loaded fries, sooo delicious.. & I have to say, the service was also really great! Very friendly/hardworking people. read more

The parking situation is a lil weird but what a solid burger joint! I got there right at opening bc I had js finished a workout and was craving all kinds of protein, fats, simple sugars, and alll kindsss of carbs. Bro that smash burger. I js wish it was bigger lmao. My big back shoulda ordered two different kinds! The fries got some nice seasoning w a kick, I hella want to try their onion rings, tots, or some other variation next time. The strawberry shake was legit yall, like talkin real ice cream/milk/fruit action, a symphony of flavors if you will. Go chance em! read more

Whoa! Now this is what a burger should be. The ugly burger is hands down a fantastic choice. My wife had the cheeseburger and really enjoyed the portion. The burgers are flame grilled using fresh meat, not frozen patties. Mill shakes are made with real ice cream, not soft serve and are so thick you can eat it with a fork. 4 burgers $10-12 each, onion rings, tater tots, fried pickles are $6 each, milkshake $7, 1 pop $3 and 1 bottled water $3 was $77 before tax. A little steep but not bad for 4 people. There's only about 6 tables in the store and it's busy at 7pm so you might need to wait for a table. Good luck. This place opened in Jan 2026 and is impo one of the best burger places around right now. They call you to pick up your food, no table service, so don't fall for the tipping screen on the payment machine. 5% max. We shall return! read more

The food was expertly prepared and ready with orders of tater tots and garlic fries. I had the ugly burger with cheese and another my wife had was the hamburger. It was all the fries you could eat, but not needed for they were so plentiful that 3 people end up having to share them. The Tater tots were not disappointing. read more

- [4/5] Atmosphere We came on at around 5:30-6 on a Friday and it was already very bustling. There are about 4-5 tables. I liked that they had table with to-go condiments like ketchup and mustard. - [5/5 ] Service The cashier was nice. You can tell it's a family run business. Nothing super memorable to note here. - [ 4.5/5] Food My husband and I got the cheeseburger with a side of tater tot's and fries. I enjoyed my cheeseburger, albeit it was a bit messy. It's not the best burger I have had (Red Mill in Fremont takes the cake for that one) but it's a solid burger. Their fries and tater tots are excellent - nice and crispy, doesn't have that starchy texture that other restaurants have. The tater tots are more expensive compared to the regular fries but you Get a crazy amount - definitely worth the money. They also have assorted dipping sauces - my favorite was the BBQ sauce. The food takes awhile as it's obviously made fresh - we waited about 20 mins for our food. We paid around $39 for two cheeseburgers, regular fries, tatertots, and a fountain drink + tip. There's a sign that say you get a discount if you pay cash. - [4] Location/Parking It's definitely a place that can be easily missed. I think it's in between a massage spa and a smoke shop. Parking can be limited. It's a very unassuming place. Overall I Would rate this a 4-4.5 stars. I would be back. read more

Completely blown away by this place. One of the best burgers I've ever had, certainly the best I've had around Seattle so far though I'll admit I haven't hit that many spots for this particularly yet. Lots of parking in front and around, not much seating room inside (4 tables?). Staff was just two folks, the cook and a cashier I believe, but they were very cool and friendly. I just got a simple cheeseburger with everything on it and the ratios were perfect, wouldn't change or add a thing really. You can tell from the picture how INSANELY juicy and buttery this burger was and oh man did it hit the spot. The fries were that perfect old school local non-descript burger spot style too I love, with a craggely thin yellow breading over basically mashed potato insides. It might be ugly, but good lawd is it delicious. read more

This is the burger you'll want to eat when it rains or shines! It's got the classic build and a satisfying portion no matter what you may want to add to it. We got the cheeseburger with all the standard 'ugly fixins' that included fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, and an order fries. Yes, it was greasy delicious. On second thought, the special sauce was kinda subtle. The extra ketchup packets generously provided in our bag improved the experience. I was thinking that we'll have to get double patties and sautéed onions next time. The crunchy outer texture of the fries kept the crunch going even after the burger was gone. 4.5/5 ! Service was friendly and efficient in a welcoming minimalist setting with ample parking. Just watch out for traffic if you're parking in front side of storefront and backing out. read more

Yum!! This will be our new go-to spot for burgers. We tried a little bit of everything- the mushroom burger, fries, frickles (fried pickles), onion rings, and the vanilla shake. Best burger I've had for awhile!! It's a smash burger and is amazing without being overly greasy. All the sides were good but their fries were my fav out of everything. Get their ugly sauce to dip your stuff in! They don't accept orders ahead of time, so you have to order there and wait. Expect a bit of a wait if you go on the weekends on during dinner time. There's a few tables inside but overall it's a pretty small place. They've only been there about a month or 2 but hopefully they'll start accepting orders online eventually! read more

After being home bound for nearly a week, on crutches, and despite the pouring rain, The Homie and I stopped by Ugly Burger for a first visit (2/23/26). Ugly Burger shares a common parking lot with a nearby Mexican restaurant, mini mart, and massage/spa businesses. There's also an adjacent gravel lot parallel to Ballinger. Interior is bright and clean with onsite seating along the perimeter of the restaurant. I liked the healthy orchids too. The menu had a nice variety of burgers, sides, other fried goods like fish & chips and chicken strips, fountain drinks, and the basic milkshake flavors of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Counter service was pleasant. The Homie ordered a double cheeseburger and large strawberry milkshake. I had a cheeseburger and regular chocolate milkshake. We shared a five piece order of mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. We decided to dine onsite and it was good to hear that the milkshakes were freshly hand spun. They were pretty thick and tasty. The rest of the order was ready shortly thereafter. Definitely fresh and ugly when unwrapped. Generous tomato, lettuce, red onions, pickles, and ugly sauce. Nicely prepped smash patties with melty cheese. All barely held by a dented, squishy potato bun. Messy as heck, but that's what napkins are for! Wished though that dining onsite, there was the ability to sort recycle and compost. Whether onsite or takeout, all orders are handed over in a paper bag. Looking at what we tossed, most could have been recycled or composted (except the straws) to reduce their garbage load. Spot on deliciousness and reasonably priced compared to other local burger sites and larger chains. Saw the business signage much earlier driving to Bothell via Lake Forest Park, but appreciate the previous Yelp posts that put this on our radar screen. Definitely recommended! read more

The service was really great, got a cheese burger, fries, and a milkshake. All phenomenal. The shake is so good, the burger is better than a lot of burgers I've tried. The sauce is unique and has a slight spice to it. The burger was just so good. And the fries were crunchy but felt like they used fresh potatoes, and they gave us a GENEROUS, amount of fries. Just a great experience. The Ambiance isn't too bad for a burger place. Could be a little cleaner but honestly I'm a take out guy when it comes to burgers. read more

The food was very good. Cheese burger is a smash burger, grilled when ordered. Fried pickles were crispy. The fries were so good & seasoned I forgot to use ketchup. The service was fast & thorough, offered us to try the ugly sauce. Which is similar to Big Mac sauce but seasoned more. Awesome read more

Ugly? In name only, because they are serving one of the best smash burgers in town, or in the Seattle area, and they are doing it in a place that looks like they are converting the essentials, a counter, tables and chairs, and burgers that make you want more. Welcome to Ugly Burger. Located on a street that is a main drive down to Lake Forest Park, in a strip mall, is a place to get Ugly. I came here on way back from a Silvertips game, I live in Seattle, they are home in Everett and this was the stop that made sense, kiddo in tow. There is parking, for now anyway, until it's going to blow up, because of the great reviews, Inside, you are greeted by a few tables, and I would suspect that the person running front of house, if the owner, because it looks like a small operation, which is fine, because you know they are making everything fresh for you, as they should. We got the ugly burger, which had avocado in addition to the usual things in a great burger. The bun was nice, the meat had the chary bits that make it delish. There is a special sauce, which is lovely. Honestly, a wow place, that is not anything but tasty. Highly recommend. read more

The inside is small - only a few tables. Came on a Friday at 530 and they were very busy! Took almost 20 min to get two burgers and a large fry. Everything on menu is a la carte. The kitchen is right behind the register where you see what they're cooking. The staff didn't crack under pressure of the crowds. Overall I was indifferent to the fries, but my partner wasn't a fan...too greasy. The burgers are thin and a little pink on the inside. Taste wasn't terrible though. Willing to try again. read more

Really great burger place. Got the jalapeño burger and the mushroom burger and onion rings. All really good. The place is very unassuming but the service was quick and friendly. Been here a few times now. I get the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Coke. Fries are breaded and always hot. The burger comes out hot too, it's quite tasty as-is. It's an "upscale" burger bar, take it for what it is and you won't be disappointed! read more

The best burger I've had in a very long time! It's flavorful, saucy, bacon was flavorful! Loved the garlic fries and it was a good size, plenty for at least two. Great price, friendly staff! My only complaint is it needs better signage, it's kinda tucked in a weird spot. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. read more

I hate to give a bad review to a local place that seems to be doing its best, but . . . The burger was tasty, but nothing special. First, it was a gloppy mess. After two bites, I was left with a pile of slop that I wound up eating with a knife and fork. The meat patty was thin and even though not overcooked, was tough and not juicy. Also, it was not hot. At all. The bacon, cheese, bun, sauce, and vegetables were all excellent, but the bun could not hold up and fell apart rapidly. The fries were dreadful. At some point, potatoes may have been involved in their production, but there was little evidence of that. Service was friendly and cheerful and the space was clean and welcoming. (Be careful not to open the door to the neighboring massage parlor!) Bottom line: Stick with Red Mill. read more

Man this place is over hyped. First off: employees don't know their menu or just lie. I asked if the Sriracha sauce contained mayo, they said no. It does. So I ended up having to wipe it all off. Second: the burger with no pickles had pickles. A different burger didn't have pickles. Rough Third: their garlic fries use nasty jarlic instead of fresh stuff. It tainted what seemed like they woulda been good fries and tots by making them slimy and kinda gross. Their ugly sauce has a LOT of mustard. Like, more mustard than any other ingredient. If you like mustard, cool. If you don't (like both people who ordered burgers with ugly sauce) it's overpowering. The one food goodish thing was the fried pickles, but even those weren't amazing. I really think non-jarlic fries/tots would have been the play. The shakes were decent, but a lot of ice chunks were in it, which is odd for a milkshake. Tons of better places out there, go there instead. Also, there's no air conditioning and the tables are cramped as hell in a small space. read more

THIS IS THE BEST. AWESOME BURGER. Oh my word I got the ugly bacon cheeseburger and it tasted like home cooking. I ordered a side of tater tots and they were awesome. They were spicy but not hot. Everything had so much flavor. This place hasn't been open long so if you're reading this go now because this will be one of those hole in the wall places that you see people lined up around the block to go to. With all that said there is one other component to this burger place. Kindness. Simple pure honest kindness. That is just who they have working there. You are only as good as the people who represent you and these people are more than good. They are truly kind. They are professional they're welcoming. So this is my go to for burger in a restaurant for a burger in a drive-through for any kind of burger this is where I will be. It is a fun little place to go to and it's clean. They cook it right there in front of you. You can watch. So once you go here, you will have an ace in your pocket to pull out when your friends say gosh, where should we go to get something to eat? The menu is awesome also. The shakes are better than any shake around. Again this place is the real thing. The bar has been set. Thank you, Megan who waited on all of us. Again kindness. read more

I've had my fair share of burgers so I have idea of what makes a good burger, or at least which ones I prefer :). This place was highly rated so naturally my hunger and curiosity led me here. I decided to order the bacon cheeseburger. The wait was not long, maybe ~10min? But first bite in.. the bacon is hard like chewing through cardboard. Not a good sign. Shouldn't the bacon be crispy? And the patty was only slightly warm. The best burgers always have hot, fresh off the grill patties. What a bummer when you expect a freshly grilled burger and feel like you're eating a reheated one. And the sauce, cheese, veggies, nothing stood out to make up for it. Maybe they were having an offday or maybe they used to be good before the owners changed? I dunno. But it was definitely not worth 5 stars. read more
