Microsoft referred me to uBreakiFix to handle a warranty repair. Apparently, Microsoft has a service contract with this vendor. On the vendor website, it says that they will come to your house for an in-house repair. This is perfect for me because I am in a wheelchair, and the Surface Studio Pro 2 Desktop is Microsoft's heaviest computer. Their online appointment system was not working, so I called the downtown location first; they referred me to the Midway location. The Midway location confirmed that they do, in fact, have the ability to do in-house calls, but only if you have an insurance contract with Asurion. Otherwise, too bad. Not for any amount of money or to help out an old man in a wheelchair, will they honor their commitment and advertisement. That is just plain shameful. Shame on you & Happy Thanksgiving. read more

I had broken the screen on my 4th generation iPad Pro and was devastated to hear from Apple that the repair would cost a minimum of $800.... At that point they said to just buy another one but I couldn't bring myself to drop more then $1,500 on a new ipad. I took it to this place and they fixed it for $400, half of what Apple was asking for and it came with a 90 day warranty!! After.a year of successfully using 18-watt and 25-watt fast chargers on my Galaxy S23, all of a sudden my phone would no longer charge on either one (but slow chargers still worked). I knew the chargers and cables were fine because they still worked on my wife's phone. A few days ago I stopped into this store (located on the south side of the building that houses CVS), and I explained the issue to the person who I presume is the owner/manager. He said it sounded like a dirty charging port. He took my phone and in a handful of minutes using a variety of tools he cleaned, tested, recleaned and retested the phone until he got it to work with a superfast charger. I asked him what I owed for the service, and he said it was complimentary. For the past few days it has consistently worked on both of my chargers. I can't thank you enough for getting my phone back into tip top shape. read more

It lasted only a week and when I brought it back to store, the clerk/technician said we do not stand by what we sell. It is not our problem! I took an ipad with a broken screen to them. After looking at it for a couple of hours they contacted me to say the frame was bent and they might not be able to fix without causing more damage but we're willing to try. I gave them the go ahead but unfortunately they couldn't repair cost effectively. I really appreciated the prompt service, honest communications and suggestions that it would be cheaper to get a refurbished iPad than fully repairing mine. Worst experience of my life. Had an iPhone screen replaced - paid $200. Touch was off on the new screen and then after a week the screen broke completely. I brought the phone back in to the store and the people at the store insisted that the new screen was broken by me and refused to replace it without my purchasing an entirely new screen. I took it to the Apple Store afterwards and they told me that the screen was defective. Still unrealistic would not replace the defective screen without me paying another $200. Horrible service. This business is a fraction of what it ought to be. They try sell you a monthly sub fee ($25) for future services, up front. Rather than want a customer to develop trust in them, it is the opposite here. They ask for 50% payment up front, days before an actual service takes place. The message comes across as:'We do not trust YOU (so pay money to make sure you come back)'...a blatant marketing violation. They sell phone cases in the front shop, which is bizarre when nothing else is on display. No variety. The employees are woefully undertrained in good customer service. The whole thing seems like a half-baked business idea. What a pity for such a good location. read more

I use my 9th generation iPad professionally in my musical act. It had a slight undisplaced crack near the top of the screen from a fall, but otherwise worked perfectly. In my vanity, I decided to get the screen replaced. I checked out the cost of a screen replacement vs. buying a new 9th generation iPad; uBreakiFix Del Mar quote was good, so I went for it. After 3 screen replacements - first the new screen didn't respond to touch, then the home button failed to work - they said they couldn't fix it any better. Home button still doesn't work. Three trips to the store, and each time they told me that it worked perfectly. They didn't charge me - but now I have to pay $249 for a new one, and can no longer sell or trade in the old one, though Best Buy would have given me $82 in trade in with the crack.
