It was our anniversary and for the 31 prior ones we sought out Thai food. Ubon Thai Kitchen was a good choice. We've not had such option for Pad Thai as they have, really fresh and tasty. The Tom Yum soup was good, not great, on a scale of 1-6 in heat we got a 5, probably should have gone with a 4 but the flavor was terrific. Tender calamari and deep fried tofu started us out. Ninkasi stout beer was an added bonus. I'm not sure if the servings were a bit small or the prices a tad high for portions. read more

Came up from Roseburg and thought we'd try this place. Big mistake, this was absolutely the worst Thai food I've ever had. Don't believe anyone would give this dive anything but a bad review. We have three different Thai restaurants in Roseburg that blow this place away. If you like discussing food this place is for you I for one will never come back to this dumpster dive again. read more

I don't like chopped peanuts. Asked for no peanuts and it is even on the receipt. Still got peanuts covering the entire order of pad thai. Lucky for them I'm not allergic. Anyway, besides the peanuts, it wasn't terrible. I just wouldn't pay 11.50 for it again. It was overly sweet and that was really the only flavor I got from it. I've got a sweet tooth and typically like my pad thai sweeter but this was borderline too much. I'd probably come back to give them a second shot... I know life is pretty sucky right now. But until then, I'm definitely not recommending this place to anyone. read more

Ordering online was easy. Fast, friendly service and plenty of parking. I ordered Phad Thai, which was flavorful and layered with fresh crunchy vegetables and plenty of noodles. The peanut sauce was my favorite. read more

I had the Eugene pad Thai. It was probably one of the best pad Thai's I have ever had! I was a little nervous about having peanut sauce on it, but it really made the dish fantastic. I was a little underwhelmed by the amount of vegetables. There were literally two pieces of carrot three pieces of green beans and two pieces of broccoli. I don't live in Eugene, but when I come back I will for sure be heading here for a pad Thai. read more

Excellent small Thai food. Salad roll the best I have ever had. Small little venue right off of 99 in Eugene. Don't be fooled by the outside decor, it great food. Busy lunch crowd but food delivered quickly. Wifi too! Very customer friendly! read more

Came for the sheer number of reviews... Maybe I expected Mr. Ho Lee Fuk flavor and heat. I give the spice and size a 5, he did well to make it super hot as requested, but not kill the dish (which honestly I don't mind spiced out if flavor for one dish) I will say the Panang Curry was a bit bland, that oil and peanut richness was only half there, the Pad See Eew, which normally I like dark like drunk noodles we're also a bit bland, whished for the caramel like flavor of the dark soy sauce. Again very good, it deserves it's 4.5 stars. Nice guy working, includedbthe utensils and included chop stick, bag was tied well (very important for take out IMO) and was ready on time. read more

My experience delivered standard Thai food! I ordered the Eugene-style pad Thai with pork and salad rolls with shrimp for delivery. Both were standard fare. I was a little disappointed in the salad rolls, seeing as they went light on the shrimp in mine (1.5 shrimp in one roll, 2 in the other) but the taste overall and peanut dipping sauce were good. Pad Thai was a standard pad Thai. I got it Eugene-style, and while there were extra veggies, it wasn't as much as I hoped. However, the pork in my pad Thai was tasty. I would definitely consider reordering from here the next time I need a noodle fix! read more

Khao Yum salad is amazing. Crunchy, soft, sweet, salty, spicy....everything you want. One of the best patios in Eugene

Best Tom Kha I've had. Delicious food, great staff, this is my favorite Thai place! They easily accommodate a vegan diet and you can pick how spicy or not you want your food. Wish I still lived in the area, but I stop here when I'm in town. Highly recommend! read more

Got takeout during quarantine. So grateful for them! Food was some of the best Thai I've ever had and I love Thai!!! Do yourself a favor and go!! Nice folks! Cute decor! read more

I was feeling a bit yuck and really just wanted some Tom kha soup to curl up with. Our normal go to was closed so I was able to convince my husband who was already near this spot to grab some to go for me. In addition to the soup, I ended up getting chicken salad rolls and cream cheese wontons. The soup was very good, I loved how tender the chicken was. This was the first time I have ever had bell pepper in the soup so that was a bit of a different flavor than I was used to but still good. The salad rolls and wontons were great and I love that they have spicy and mild peanut sauce. I was underwhelmed by the non spicy so next time going spicy. Overall, this was a great meal in a pinch and I am hoping to dine in soon. read more

A friend and I enjoyed dinner here (dine-in) last Sunday night and it was perfect. The tables we're all spaced it, there was indoor and outdoor seating, and we actually ended up eating in their "Sunroom" which was pretty much a completely private room with only our table in it. The staff was wonderful and the food was delicious - the best Pad Thai I have ever had! read more

The green curry was yellow ish/red. The ingredients were not even normal ingredients that you get in Thai green curry. I've been to several Thai restaurants around America and the world. They assured me that it was green curry paste, but it doesn't even have a taste, flavor or a correct color. Then, the containers are so small that you burn yourself trying to open it as it's overflowing. You get half of the amount of food that you pay for. It definitely isn't worth it for the price or the size or the quality. read more

Was lost and stumbled on to Ubon Thai and glad I did. The pineapple curry was the best I have every had. 1 caution trust the 1-6 scale of hot and yes the 2 is hot. Coconut shrimp appetizer also great. I'll be back for sure read more

We came for lunch but sort of regretted it. The place smells like some sort of chemical cleaners. Not appetizing. Both the curries we had were poor quality with canned ingredients, minimal meat and no authentic flavors. No thai eggplant. No palm sugar. Service is sort of friendly. It is quasi self service and a bit dirty inside and out. read more

I randomly chose this spot for dinner for my family... it is now one of our go to places. GREAT food I also like the vegan options. The people there were welcoming as well. I would definitely travel to visit again. read more

Food was tasty and staff was friendly. I will be back. Pad Thai and Spring Rolls were great.

Foods always delicious. I gravitate more to a rice dish and they have phenomenal stirfry's. Their service staff is always friendly and responsive to my requests. Definitely a must try if you love Thai food!!! read more

This place is super tasty! Enjoyed everything. I had the pineapple pad Thai and the herb stir fry. We chose spice level 4. It had heat! But was great! I asked for no fish sauce and they were accommodating! The food and service were excellent. Funny little food stand, with an awkward parking lot, but definitely my new go to for Thai! read more

We loved our panang and yellow curry, both of us got extra vegetables, no protein. We definitely had to ask for more rice. Panang curry was so creamy and yummy, my 2.5 level spice was delicious. We also loved the yellow curry and it was pretty damn spicy at a level 3! I'm happy to have this vegan and soy free option that's absolutely delicious. We also loved our mango margarita and Thai mule. Yummy food, pretty interior, helpful staff. read more

Not gonna lie, when I first drove by I was skeptical. The restaurant is run out of a food cart attached to an old renovated motel off of highway 99. And then I ate their pad Thai and all my skepticism went away. This is honestly the best pad Thai I have ever had. I believe the owner's wife is from Thailand, and you can tell she knows her stuff. I highly recommend the pineapple pad Thai. Although I am a big fan of Sabai, they don't measure up in the category of pad Thai. I love the two restaurants for different reasons, but I will always come to Ubon when I'm craving pad Thai (you can sense a theme here, huh?). The Thai iced tea is also very good, as well as their stir fries. You get generous portions, so be expected to take some home if you're not starving. I'm not sold on the curries, but they are decent. They aren't messing around with spice, get one level lower than you were about to order. Trust me. The owner is the one who will typically take your order and he is so sweet. Very good customer service. Oh, and did I also mention very good pad Thai? (yes, yes I did) read more

Overpriced and doesn't taste authentic. I tasted too much salt and the to-go box wasn't even HALF full for $15! The little Thai food trucks are way better priced and better quality. read more

I heard the food truck previously Ubon THai was delicious. So was excited to try, plus had a bogo-half-off coupon. Service was very kind and upbeat and nice 8/10. Atmosphere was ok , nothing special... very spacious and spacious patio 6/10. chicken satay: 5/10. Satisfactory, had a nice marinade and tender but just ok. Arghh, the green papaya salad 1/10. The fish sauce was rotten , like really tasted like rotting fish smells. Sent back got a replacement salad ( substitute peanut sauce because dressing was made of fish sauce). Really just plain at that point. HOWEVER the server was gracious about the swap out. Green (not green) Curry : 2/10. Medium spicy. Comprised of a VERY thin tan/gray sauce of coconut water or watered down coconut milk , very bland Non-Green curry and 85% matchstick sliced bamboo shoots, 10% bell pepper and 5% onion and old green peas(the wrinkly crinkly old ones). Pad See Ew(wide noodle): 5/10. Satisfactory just under spiced, Mango Margarita sans simple syrup Cocktail 8/10. Delicious! TRUTH: Not worth the 1/2 off entree coupon, sadly disappointed and surprised that so many people like it. I prefer Tasty Thai or TaRaRin read more

We have been a customer here since they were back in the cart off 99, and we've always enjoyed our meals. Our most recent trip however was very off trend, and we don't go often enough to know if it's consistent or a one time thing. All of our dishes that were ordered we're less than half full, imagine opening a little white carton and only getting it half full for a noodle dish, or rice. On top of that the flavors weren't even all that great this time. Had it been our first time I'd say I'd never go back. I'm sure we will try it again in the future but more likely to go elsewhere now. read more

Definitely still not my first choice for Pad See Eww but I figured it was worth another shot. If I order it with no peas (they are just small frozen peas) and extra sauce (usually it is very dry) then it is edible. The noodles are still extremely broken up compared to most places so it's still not super enjoyable but if I'm with a group that wants to eat here then I can modify the dish enough to be satisfied. read more

Amazing food! Great curry and pineapple rice. I will be back for sure. I want to try more dishes.

This is an awesome restaurant with really tasty food. I've been going there for years. My favorite Thai in Eugene!

Stopped in randomly, had read some good reviews. Great food, will return for outside dining.

Exquisite Thai for awesome prices! The best in the Eugene/Springfield area hands down. The staff are professional/personable and the new location is nicely embellished with eye-catching Eastern decor that makes you want to sit in a different area of the establishment every time you go. There is a nice outdoor seating in the garden for the fairer seasons, a little bar area if you are interested in sports, and a variety of other types of seating. Not to be missed. I was recommended this place over a year ago by a co-worker who has been to Taiwan twice and reports that this is about as authentic as a place you'd find there! I built my expectations up way too high and then went.....it exceeded them. The business has recently moved to their new 7th Street location and it seems to have really benefited from the extra attention. Whenever I want to take a new friend somewhere for authentic cuisine, Ubon Thai Kitchen is always a very very high pick on my list. I always recommend the Pad See Ew and various Pad Thais, but the Curry choices are also great. *Warning* Spice levels are fierce. Go low or none if you know you aren't strong! read more

I discovered Ubon accidentally today and had the Panang Curry with tofu and a Thai iced tea. I've been to probably hundreds of Thai restaurants and been to Bali, Indonesia (Ubud, Sanur, and Ahmed). Ubon's food quality leaves a damn-I-want-to-eat-more feeling in your bones. It's clear the head chef, Pla, is a master of her craft. The curry had a magical blend of coconut, veggies, tofu, peanut, spices, and basil - all paired with a hearty brown jasmine rice. The red pepper was perfectly cooked with a little crunch. Thinly sliced bamboo shoots added the attention to detail and extra texture. The veggies and tofu were crisp an fresh. I devoured the dish and scraped it clean. Embrace the quirky atmosphere, say hi to kitty, chat with the owners (Bill & Pla), and get down with the authentic Thai food. read more

Ubon Thai Kitchen - Panang Curry with Tofu. Yummers! - Thai Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

From the outside this place looks lame. Really lame - parking in a broke-down former motel, right off 99W. But this place is so good. Maybe five stars good. Stopped in for lunch on a busy run-around chore day. Ordered conservatively, the pad thai "Eugene Style" with shrimp. Sat outside in the fall sunshine, at a big wooden table next to a fountain with Buddha. Moments later my dish arrived, hot and straight from the wok. Delicious! Liked everything about it, except for the discordant texture of broccoli and other "Eugene Style" additions. Which I'd ordered - my bad, not theirs. Ate my way through their good food, happy to be there, right then. Weird kitsch and all. Can't wait to try Ubon Thai again, maybe a curry, or family style with a bunch of friends. read more

I just had Ubon Thai for the first time and was very disappointed. Their pad thai, both chicken and beef, does not taste like other pad thai I've had, and that's not a good thing. It didn't come with the usual sauce/seasonings and had a peanut/coconut sauce on the side which was not very good. unfortunately we won't be returning read more

OK, to be honest, I hesitate bragging on this place because I don't want it to get over run with people. That's the selfish part of me. This is the BEST Thai food in Eugene, for that matter, almost the best Thai I've ever had. There's another Thai place I love in San Jose, CA that is neck and neck with Ubon. Not only is it authentic and delicious (owner is from Thailand and her mother sends spices directly to Eugene), but it's ambience is charming and relaxing. NO WAY do you feel like you're next to Highway 99...go inside the little house through the courtyard shrouded in foliage, and there's music playing, fountains, soft comfortable furniture, small wind chimes and accoutrements from Asia to lend to an atmosphere that allows you to enjoy all aspects of your meal. Don't order medium hot unless you've got a 5-alarm palate. Mild is plenty spicy. My favorite dish is the Pumpkin Curry..I choose chicken as the protein and get it with white rice. Portions are super generous...for 7.00 or so you'll get enough food for your meal plus leftovers. Can't say enough about Ubon! Owners leave every fall for a month long visit to Thailand...hurry and go (if you're reading this in late summer) they'll be leaving soon! Look for the bright yellowish-orange trailer on 99 between Royal and Roosevelt. read more

We've gotten eats from Ubon Thai Kitchen twice now, once via delivery and once for pick up. Both orders I did through GrubHub so I don't have much to comment on for the service from Ubon, since that is all automated. However, the night I picked up an order, the gentleman at the counter was very friendly. --Delivery-- **Pad Thai Chicken - This is my husband's go-to dish, and so far in Eugene, he says this one is the best! At Ubon, they offer a side of sauce with your pad thai, which is the first time I've seen that option. He went with the regular peanut sauce. **Jungle Noodle - Good flavor & spice but the pineapple, sadly, seemed like it may have come from a can. :( This dish also seemed a lot smaller portion in comparison to the pad thai, while also being more expensive. I'll try something else next time. --Pickup-- **Pad Thai Chicken - for hubby again. :) **Panang Curry Chicken - My father-in-law commented that it was quite spicy, and I only ordered a 1.5/5 for heat for him! read more

Really good Thai and and really good service! I've been here about 5 times and enjoyed each dish... glass noodles is my go to! These boys don't mess around with spice either! There was one MINOR mixup on my order to-go one time and while I waited they gave me a free beer... definitely a place to visit. Also a nice outdoor area when the weather is right. read more
