I love it. Have used it three times with no pr little problems. Cheap and drivers ate friendly. If you have a problem someone contacts you right away. The first time due to corcumstances i was dropped off at wrong location then had to uber again. It was a few blocks but did not know that . They make mustakes but ate friendly about it. Need to use my gps with them. Cheaper than a taxi. He did not charge me for his mustake. Nice new clean cars and cheaper than a taxi. Plan on using it a lot in the future when needed. read more

There's always ample Uber cars in our area, we live in Sunset Valley so I think this really says something. My favorite is when the mom drivers give me candy :) they are prompt, prices aren't bad. I like the convenience of charging my card and not having to worry about paying when I get out. And you can't tip :) don't feel bad about not tipping...our driver last night told me they get to keep 80% of the total bill. My one warning is to make sure you aren't using Uber during surge pricing AKA busy times. They can charge you literally quadruple the price!!! No thank you. read more

Über is Über! I have been using them since I was introduced to them by work colleagues in Denver this past winter. Used them in Denver, San Francisco, Atlanta and now here in Austin. I have been anxiously waiting their arrival! I recently broke my ankle and they have been a life-saver for getting around. For the most part the drivers are always very nice and the cars are clean and comfortable. They are very reliable. The absolute longest I have ever had to wait for a ride is 10 minutes. They even service the "burbs", Westlake area. I did have a problem recently with a clueless driver that refused to look at his GPS, yacked the whole ride and in the process made at least 3 wrong turns. The fare was 2x higher than it should have been. I replied to my emailed receipt with a description of the problem and was immediately credited the difference! Uber can see excatly which route the driver took. Now that's service. I am still waiting for a Yellow Cab that I booked online 2 years ago! read more

Uber, I feel extremely taken advantage of by your company. I was in a situation where a regular taxi was not easily flagged, so uber was the "best" option. Your decision to allow surges of 9x's is disrespectuful to your customers and allows you to take advantage of your inebriated passengers who are trying to take the safe way home. You claim surge pricing allows customers to have a guaranteed safe way home, but I see it in the opposite light. Your business is contingent on people who are not in a sober enough state to drive themselves home safely, and you fully take advantage of them by pricing gouging them while their in vulnerable mental state. On 10/24/2019, from the Austin Airport Uber quoted me $140 to my destination. This was because it was a "high volume" time. To get to the airport, Uber charged me $35. This is crazy! I then went to Lyft and they charged $45 dollars for the same service. A $95 difference is insane. Always check Lyft and compare the prices before using Uber. read more

Used them twice this past weekend for the first time. I found a free promo code for my first ride by just googling it. Both rides were perfect. I was picked up within five minutes. Clean cars, friendly and professional drivers, and a reasonable price on the second ride where I paid. I have taken three uber rides tonight and they all SUCK! The first one had the smelliest car. The second driver almost killed us. And now the third driver is taking the longest way possible to get to my house. Next time I will just drive. This is ridiculous. It has really effected my night. My friends are not happy and we have dished out the money tonight because,oppppps they took a wrong exit or went the wrong way. Never again will I use uber. Worst car service ever. read more

First time I used Uber, was hit with a surged ride of $55. But very nice email with Uber about the miscommunication, and was refunded part of the money. Will have to use it again and learn how to use it. But seems like good service with no problems and all convenience. I requested an Uber at 11:42 to take me safely on the 5 minute drive to my New Years destination to watch the ball drop. Well boy did they drop the Ball. I was informed it was 4 minutes away giving me plenty of time to arrive before midnight. I even called the driver and gave him detailed directions through my apartments gate and 2 turns he would have to make. Guess what 20 minutes later still no driver and he refused to answer my calls. Most of the complaints I see here are regarding the high rates during surge pricing times. You were informed and clicked to agree to these surge rates PRIOR to your uber car even being requested. No one took advantage of you. YOU agreed to that surge rate. If you don't want to pay surge prices then you can wait until the surge is over, try to find a taxi, or find a nearby hotel. The surge prices occur to encourage uber drivers to get out on the road to ensure that riders are always able to quickly get a ride. I have had awesome experiences with uber. Great rates, super fast pick up, clean cars and cool people. During surge times I will usually choose alternative transportation or wait it out unless it's worth the higher to me just to get home. read more

Set aside the cooperation bullies in this review for their dramatic leave. One time I had a chance to call uber at airport, and the first fare is 26 dollar. Driver didn't show up, tried second time, fare bumps to 46...said because of the demand. Ok, I accept them, perhaps there's demand...driver didn't show up again...third time is a ...charm..? Uber is one of my favorite things on the planet! I currently live in Austin, and there used to be such a huge taxi issue here. (Not showing up on time, or at all, certainly not enough of them to go around during SXSW, ACL, UT football games, etc.) I also have lived in Los Angeles, and it was much easier to take an Uber (and have a few drinks at dinner) versus paying to valet everywhere and trying to monitor your cocktails. Even after going to NOLA a few weeks ago, I realized how I dislike even vacationing in a city that doesn't have Uber. Charged a cleaning $40 fee for dust on the drivers floor mat that he had to stop and vacuum for 75 cents. We were picked up in a gravel parking lot. He should have told me No before I got in. UBER charged me for a ride I did not take. Basically I had requested a fare, spoken with the driver, when he didn't show up I hopped a taxi. I then was charged for the UBER ride I did not take, but because I had (somewhat stupidly) failed to officially cancel the fare there is no way to prove I didn't take it. It came down to my word vs. the driver, and they sided with the driver. The customer service contact was thoughtful and responsive, but ultimately unhelpful. It's a shame because prior to this I was a strong advocate for UBER, but I will not be using their service again in the future. read more

I recently had the need of a ride home from college and decided to try Uber over a taxi. I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. The driver was a gentleman named Tommy who was very pleasant and fun to talk to. It only took a few minutes for him to arrive, and was a very good driver. Love this service. For a city with virtually no cabs...try hailing a cab anywhere aside from the airport or a downtown hotel...this is perfect. I've used mostly the uberX cars for going out at night. For a few bucks it's a nice luxury when going out and I can have that second cocktail without worries on getting home safe and sound ! Splitting the fare with a friend or two and it's cheaper than paying for the gas to drive yourself. read more

I have been using Uber for almost a week due to being rear ended in a car accident. They have been awesome until today. I asked for a ride for only a few blocks from my house to a shopping center. I wanted to go to two places . The first one was closed. The driver took me to the second one and I asked him to take me to a similar place after and he said he couldn't because he had another ride. No problem . BUT when I came out of the store he was gone!? He only had to return me to home a couple of blocks away, but decided to grab his next ride and leave me sitting on the curb! My cell phone fell out of my purse and is in the driver's car. I have been trying to reach Uber "Customer Service" for 2.5 hours. I can't sign in to my account because my passwords are on my phone. I can't reset my password because it's a two-step verification process and obviously I'm not getting my text messages. I have filled out the web form four times. There is no way to reach Uber by phone if you can't sign in to your account--they have deliberately made discovering their phone number highly difficult. There should have been at least an option to chat with a rep. This can't be that unusual of a situation; so why does Uber not give a damn about my predicament? I will NEVER use Uber again; my family will never use Uber again. I will tell anyone and everyone about this experience, in the hopes that they will never use Uber again. Then about 30 later as we unload the truck and come inside there is a guy that pulls up asking if we called for a ride using the UBER service. we said no but the guy just kept stalking our house for two hours. Since my only option at that point was to call the restaurant they were the ones to inform me that Uber Eats had in fact cancelled my order at 330pm that afternoon due to a shortage of an ingredient at the restaurant. Ok today I ordered my ride on Uber at 9:45 am and got a message from them that my arrival to airport would be 10:25. The driver showed up at 1040 and I missed my 11:30 flight. He claims he only got the message at 1030. Now I have to wait till 630 pm and arrive in rochester at midnight. I hate uber and i sure wont use them ever again. Scheduled an UberSelect months in advance for my wedding night in Austin to serve as the wedding vehicle. THE CAR NEVER SHOWED UP AND MY RIDE WAS "CANCELED" BY THE APP. During this time my wife and her DIVORCE attorney had given me a jailbroken iphone6 plus with spyware secretly installed to watch me to see if I was unfaithful. iPhones are not designed to run this spy software so many of the security protocols are SECRETLY broken leaving the owners data exposed. However in this case it also left many riders exposed as well. Private conversations, data going over my hotspot, text video and audio can be and were recorded. I HAD NO IDEA UNTIL MUCH LATER AFTER THE FACT. Because the software engineers are constantly tweaking the drivers app I am not sure if they take the time to get every update signed with Apple or Android. I know the rider app is. Every rider in my car during those two years had an expectation of privacy that was violated. But it gets better. The last 5 months of 2017 I was personally hacked and cyber stalked. My identity was stolen. I believe that during the time that I was being watched by my ex wife and her lawyer, some really smart hackers recognized this and took advantage of the revolving door of personal l data going through my car. I lived and mainly worked the cedar park area, I drove a black Honda Fit.
