My last ride was a disaster. An airport pick up with my 8 year old son where the driver was over an hour late. I was repeatedly lied to by multiple people when I called the service. I was told that the driver was "at the airport", "he's arriving now", "I just spoke with the driver and he is turning into the airport now" and none of these statements were true. Then I wasn't reimbursed for my ride, I was credited $40 for my NEXT ride. By the way r hat $40 discount would make the ride cost the same as a Lyft SUV pick up. read more

The good: The driver and the car were lovely. Very nice guy, very clean car. The bad: Due to multiple miscommunications, my mom (who I booked the car for) was picked up 1.5 hours after her flight landed. Despite speaking with the driver who said they were at the airport. She then waited from 11pm to almost 12:30am to be picked up. I booked a car service to reduce anxiety of arriving late in the night without a ride (I was home with my kids and couldn't get her). Instead this caused a great amount of stress. When I expressed my displeasure with this experience, I was offered an apology for the inconvenience and then offered 10% off my next ride. Like, no thanks. Skip it, I'll just ensure she understands how to uber/lyft next time it's needed. read more

Only a little bit more expensive than Lyft for a ride to airport but for time sensitive travel I like the security of a local, professional service. On time, clean nice car, and safe driving. I've had too many uber/lyft who are terrible drivers and also don't know where they are going or wanna run their mouths the whole time and miss a turn. Not sure who runs this company but their drivers are a peril and the customer support/issue resolution process is a joke. Booked a taxi ride to the airport. Driver nearly feel off the drainage bridge on my driveway. No joke car ended up with 1 wheel dangling in thin air. My driveway sustained damage. I've sent photos, called them like 10 times, never get a call back, manager is on holiday, they finally arrange to come inspect the damage, no call / no show. Complete joke. Unsafe drivers and company doesn't even care about damaging your property. Would not recommend this service to anyone! read more

Ok. So I'm fully aware that some, NOT ALL, businesses like fighting with customers whenever they leave bad reviews BUT this is not going to stop me from sharing my experience. I feel I need to give you all the details because I was able to walk home but not everyone will have the luxury of time. I live in Steiner Ranch in a one car household. Just to get out of my community into Quinland Park takes me around 35-45 minutes walking (since I walk slow). Well, my husband wanted to take the car and meet up with his friends on the same day my kid had soccer practice. I told him, no problem, I'll get a taxi to pick us up AFTER practice as long as you drop us off before practice. So that was our agreement and I started looking for rides and found Pronto Rides. I went online on TUESDAY to set up a pickup request and on that same day I got a phone call from Pronto to verify some information. I thought the follow up was fast therefore I was happy and thought everything was going to work out at the end. Fast forward to Friday, 30 minutes before leaving to soccer practice, I'm getting the kids ready and someone called but it only rang twice. By the time I got to my phone it was registered as a missed call. I thought it was weird and automatically assumed it was a wrong number because when it is important my phone rings forever. Then, a little before practice was suppose to end I called Pronto to see if they could send my driver before my scheduled time. The same guy who called me on Tuesday answered and told me my ride was cancelled and my driver was over by the DOMAIN! He kept telling me I didn't answer and that's why he cancelled me. I told him I was on my phone around 4:45 pm because I was looking at some lab results but regardless he cancelled me. Going back to phone records I was able to compare phone numbers and that's when I realized the "missed call" was the call that RANG TWICE. I was so f*cking mad I told him about this f*cking review. He tried calling back multiple times but I rejected his calls and we decided to walk home since I couldn't ask my husband to come back for us right away in the middle of traffic and I wasn't going to give PRONTO a second chance. We stopped by Wag-a-Bag to buy some drinks and rest for a little bit before heading to our gated community. At the end, we didn't make it all the way home. My youngest (who practiced for an hour) and I sat on the grass and waited for my husband. My son's practice ended at 6:00, my ride was suppose to pick us up around 6:20, and my husband found us on the side of the street at 7:30 pm. All because I didn't answer a phone call that rang TWICE, TWICE! So NO. I do not recommend this business. read more

Great experience coming from airport. Was about $30, or 35% more than Uber which I would expect for having car seat. Car was clean. However, we took downtown for dinner with friends, about half the mileage and they changed same price. Guy said it was flat $20 extra for car seat one way which doesn't really make sense. The car seat they had couldn't have been more than. $100 car seat to buy new and was on lower end of safety rating. Would recommend for airport but nothing else read more

I needed a ride to the airport last week and made a reservation online - super easy. Got confirmation emails so I didn't have to think about it again. Got a text 1/2 hour before pickup time, and the driver was at the house 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Nice, clean, pretty-new car, and the driver was friendly and helpful. Absolutely nothing to complain about - first class all the way. To top it off, the price was (a) determined when I made the reservation- no surprises, and (b) about $15 less than the cab I took from the airport to home two weeks ago (which had a bad odor and barely ran). Will not use again. Came late, poor communication, seemed very disorganized. No communication prior to my travel date. I had to call them to confirm that they indeed were coming. The day of departure I received a text that the car was on its way and watched on their tracking tool as the car approached and then suddenly went elsewhere. It then took a long time and multiple calls to get another car to arrive. I was about to cancel the whole thing and drive myself to the airport when the car finally arrived. I was not please to find that it was just a typical taxi that I could have just booked directly myself. read more

I booked pronto rides online several days before we arrived in Austin for a wedding. We needed to book multiple trips for 8-16 people. The cost and booking process was reasonable and easy. All vans showed up on time (to the minute!) and drivers were reliable, professional, and drove safely. One bus even had a speaker and microphone available to let us karaoke on the way home from our event... while I can imagine this was not relaxing for the driver, it was a big added plus for our group. I would definitely use them again if needing a car service in Austin. read more

We used them for an early morning ride to the airport. Driver was punctual and polite to us. We really like that all drivers have to meet higher standards and qualifications than other driving services. A couple of complaints / things of which to be aware: 1) Driver and car information never appeared or updated in the Pronto Rides account that is provided. Not a big deal, since they send texts the morning of the pickup. But, I don't understand why the account needs to be created if it won't include this information. 2) Driver cut in front of a long line of cards at the airport drop-off. We were not running late and specifically told him that we were ok with waiting in line. When I pick up or drop-off people at the airport, I get VERY annoyed when other cars purposefully take a lane that is not headed in the direction that they want to go, then cut over, crossing areas that are not meant to be lanes and forcing themselves in front of drivers who follow the rules. And, I didn't like being a part of it when our driver decided to do this. I understand that he may usually have pushier passengers and that he wants to get to the next driving job, but that doesn't excuse breaking road rules -- especially when we told him that we are ok with waiting. If you don't want to follow the rules and wait in line at the crowded airport, then don't take a job that involves an airport pickup or drop-off. This kind of aggressive and semi-rude driving doesn't irritate everyone, and I know that some people appreciate it in a driving service. We don't, though. read more

tldr: my driver was 40 minutes late. I would not rely on this service for a ride to the airport or an important appointment. I am visiting from China and was initially excited to find pronto rides and thought this could be a great solution for my transportation needs while in town. Boy, was I wrong. I was also hoping to use this service for my ride to the airport, but they proved to be too unreliable. I arranged my driver two days in advance to pick me up at 9:00 a.m. At 8:54 I went out to wait on the porch. By 9:15 there is no sign of Pronto Rides so I called to see what was up. The dispatcher made some calls and then informed me that the driver claimed he pulled up to my address at 8:45 and waited until 9:00 for me. Someone was lying. Either the driver lied to the dispatcher or the dispatcher was lying to me, but there was no sign of a driver when I waited outside. And IF the driver had showed up early, why would he have left BEFORE my scheduled ride time? Anyway, the dispatcher sent out another driver and I got on the road 40 minutes later than planned. I also had a return trip planned and that did go smoothly. read more

However, after waiting for 15 minutes in the rain called to find out that they would not be sending anyone out to pick us up because of the rain! Whoever heard of a taxi service that didn't run in the rain? And whoever heard of a company that wouldn't call a customer to let them know that they wouldn't be sends someone out!? Like government or birth control, it's great when it works. Used twice in the past for early morning airport runs, nice cars and drivers and on time arrival. But my last time was, well, my last time. Booked for 5am the night before, got a text at 4:48am saying "5 minute delay" followed by a call at 4:58 in which the caller said "uh, I'm going to be late, what time is your flight?" I answered his question with one of my own, "what time will you be here?" His response: "uhhh, five or ten or fifteen minutes or so." It's a great ride service if you have a car sitting there in case they don't show up. read more

Schedule AM pickup online, a ride to airport. Got two conformations via email and text. Called them when they didn't show up, and was put on hold. After 5 minutes on hold, I called Metro to get me to airport. Guy at Pronto calls back later to say, they are booked up and tried to call me yesterday. I have no phone record of missed call. About a minute after I called Metro, two drivers from Metro called me to help. One got there under 8 minutes. Great service at Metro. Pronto not recommended. read more

Decided to use Pronto because it advertised that Baby and toddler car seats were available, figured it would be easier than long term parking and shuttling my 91 year old mother, my daughter and two granddaughters, ages 4 and 9 months. For the 5 am pick up, the driver was friendly and on time. The issues were that neither car seat was installed correctly and the car had transmission problems. We did 35-40 mph on 35! Never felt safe! Fast forward one week and the pick up for the ride back home. No phone number for the driver, gave us some anxious moments, since there was no way to get in touch. Finally made contact, driver shows up...with a broken back seat. A tire in the back ( which he just threw our luggage on top of) and a car seat for the infant that did not work. Once again car seats were not installed properly and the right passenger seat moved around during the ride. I don't mind if a driver doesn't speak, but this one was borderline unfriendly! Needless to say, will not be using this company again. read more

Following the Uber and Lyft exit, I've had terrible luck getting cabs to show up for early morning drop offs at the airport. They simply don't show, or show up super late which is not ideal. I've used this service twice and both times got exceptional drivers who had took great pride in the condition of their vehicles (very clean) and professionalism. They said they will check the car and call back in 30 minutes but never called back. When I called back after 50 minutes, they said they will call back in 1 minute. Booking online was very easy. The rate is reasonable and you can choose to prepay or pay with credit card during your trip. No extra fees or charges. The driver texted a few hours before the scheduled time to connect with us and confirm the time, and he arrived early. The minivan we ordered was very clean and the driver was courteous and masked. We let them know in advance that we needed to use our own car seat (we had to bring it to our destination) and it was no problem. Two adults, a toddler, three suitcases, a car seat and a stroller to the airport for $50 (with generous tip). We will use pronto rides again! read more

At least I was able to speak with a warm body, but unfortunately they were either completely clueless about being able to refer an alternative or just didn't care. PRONTO RIDES IS ONE OF THE WORST TRANSPORT SERVICES IN AUSTIN, TEXAS. Mike, the driver, left me standing in the rain and refused to meet me at the customer pickup area. Mike tried to refuse to transport me although I prepaid for the service. He told me to "go get a cab" since I asked why I was not being met at the customer pickup area. Mike used the permit area because my service was upgraded from taxi to car. (The upgrade restriction is the responsibility of Pronto, not the client. If an upgrade changes the pickup arrangement then Pronto should figure out how to provide appropriate accommodations for its client(s) and communicate that.) Although the permit area has a covered section, the driver refused to meet me under cover out of the rain. The arrangements were not explained when I booked the appointment and were altered later. No pickup instructions or plate information was provided and Pronto's driver was 40 minutes late. Also, It is unreasonable to expect that everyone arriving in Austin is familiar with the protocol at the airport. I made a dozen or more calls to connect with my driver. My scheduled pickup was 1245P and my driver arrived at 127P. Furthermore, I had to placate the driver as you would a child to get him to complete my scheduled service. READ THE REVIEWS AND TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY! OPT FOR A LEGITIMATE AND PROFESSIONAL TRANSPORT SERVICE RATHER THAN USING PRONTO RIDES. read more

Really liked the service - Uber and Lyft are both unreliable early AM in Austin. Pronto was there on time. And compared to ride share, the price is a little higher but worth it - cars are spacious, driver helps with luggage, and the driver knows how to drive well. Good job - keep it up! read more

This is probably the most reliable ride service I've used so far, and I have used almost all of them i.e Uber, Lyft, ride austin, yellow cab etc. I travel practically every week and sometimes twice weekly, and Pronto Rides have always been on time waiting for me at my door step at requested time. These guys have made it so easy & simple to book a ride with their online booking. I get a fixed price ( pretty comparable to Uber or Lyft and definitely cheaper than cab companies). I don't even bother to check their confirmation email as I know they'll be there. Thanks a lot Pronto Rides for making my travel easier. read more

I just walked to work in the rain because nobody bothered to show up. I called 6 times waiting and got a voicemail. They conveniently called after I had already walked all the way to work in the rain and tried to give some excuse about calling me but I have zero voicemails and zero missed calls. Very unreliable! On Monday, November 27, 2017 I made a reservation for round trip service for my 78 year old mother's visit to the doctor. The trip was reserved for a 12:30 p.m. pick-up on November 28, 2017 from our residence and a return trip pick-up at 2:15 p.m. from the doctor's office. The dispatcher repeated all the information provided and informed me that my mother would receive a call confirming the 12:30 pick-up. Needless to say, no one called on November 28 to confirm the pick-up. Thankfully, I worked from home and was able to take her to the doctor's office. I received a call at 1:30 p.m. to confirm pick-up from the doctor's office. This of course was incorrect given the scheduled 2:15 p.m. pick-up. I inquired why no one came at 12:30 p.m. The lady was extremely apologetic; however, it is unlikely I will use this service again. Uber time!! read more
