My movers brought stuff down. Then they decided that I couldn't have the truck. They told me that it was only for moving in. They could have told me this at the time I reserved it, before I committed to movers, or any other time. They started smiveling about how instead of trusting them "I should have read the fine print." That is how much they care about customer service and keeping their word. I was out $350 to the movers. The "regional manager" was in the office and was fully aware of what was happening, and agreed that they should not keep their word, that I should have read the fine print instead of taking their word for it when they went through all the motions of providing the truck. This is a nice facility and a good location for me, but If you care about honesty and integrity, stay away, they are liars and snivelers.

My storage unit was discovered to be burglarized on 10/12/26. There is a large open gap above many of the units and no camera coverage in the long hallway of several units where mine is located. Evidence shows the thieves accessed my unit from the structural opening over the wall of my unit, as they broke a glass bottle that was on the shelf directly below the structural opening and there was a footprint on a stack of weights sitting on the shelf. They also left behind a magnetic light that crashed to the ground when I had to force my door open, indicating the door wasn't used. Management was dismissive when these security concerns were raised. When asked how they plan to increase security and prevent this from happening in the future, they explicitly said they can't do anything about the security. I was quick to remove all belongings and cancel contract, as I didn't even feel safe accessing the unit anymore, knowing they are fully aware of crimes happening and won't do anything about it. If you store belongings here, check your unit! I'm sure there are more affected! This is straight from their website: "EXCEPTIONAL SECURITY At Extra Space Storage, we're dedicated to providing secure storage for our customers. That's why our Parkdale Dr storage facility has video surveillance, individually-alarmed units, and electronic gate access with personalized entry codes." For a storage facility that advertises as being "extra secure" and charges prices accordingly, I expected it to include reasonable safeguards and clear accountability, but this has proven not to be the case. Pick up and return was relatively quick (even considering how you have to practically sign your life away with these sorts of things). Before we picked it up, she went around the truck with us to make note of the condition of the truck (all of the scrapes, dents and imperfections) to make sure we wouldn't be responsible for anything unless something major happened to the truck while in our possession. He was initially very friendly and accommodating, matched the quote of a different moving company I'd gotten, and I was planning to book with them. Although he'd confirmed my requested pickup and delivery dates over email, the estimate still listed the original dates and an "Economy Class Delivery" window of 1-24 business days. I asked for clarification because I wanted to make sure the paperwork was correct before signing and paying a roughly $5,000 deposit. I also asked about the binding price, which he'd already confirmed and which I later realized was stated elsewhere in the estimate. I acknowledge overlooking that. Instead of simply clarifying the information and updating the dates on the estimate, Andrew abruptly told me he believed I was running a scam, refused to work with me, and ignored both a phone call and an email asking what was going on. I'm honestly stunned by how quickly a friendly interaction turned hostile. I understand that repeated questions can be frustrating, but accusing a prospective customer of fraud for trying to clarify contract details is completely disproportionate and unprofessional.
