Drivers are lazy and lie about package status. I've lived in my house for 22 years. Never a complaint until the last 6 months and now I've made 5. My driver started leaving Amazon packages ON TOP of the mailbox, or sitting under it. I live on a rural road, so this makes it easy for someone to steal. When I complained, the new driver said "he lives on a blind curve, I can't back out", Dispatch and Main USPS complaint dept determined that was a lie. To try to be helpful, I started parking my cars in such a way that they could come down the driveway and turn around without needing to back up, but nope they still lie about "reasons" why it could not be delivered. I currently have 2 packages with exceptions on them, one 3 days ago claiming there was "Animal Interference" (which is garbage, since I was outside and watched them drive by), and the other went out for delivery, and now is just "Awaiting Delivery" with an exception. No new dates provided even though when I talked to USPS they said it should have been delivered the next day. Trying to call the local branch, gets nowhere, the phone rings endlessly as they refuse to answer. At one point, I heard them pick up the phone just to hang it up right away rather than answer it. I get that Amazon using USPS for package delivery creates extra work, but it's your job, please do it. read more

our mail courier has continued to steal and lie about packages being delivered to our house. I have a private residence with our own mailbox and our own driveway there's absolutely not excuse why $538 in cosmetology packages have gone missing- she apparently scans them as delivered but I have watched and walked up as she pulls off and CLEARLY not had any packages. she has blamed our neighbor, insisting he was holding and keeping them when she didn't even go to their house on date and time of the said delivery! when we've called to supervisor to explain this, she VERY unprofessionally 3-way calls the courier and argues what the girl says like we are in high school. luckily, I recorded our last call where I told them specifically DO NOT hold my mail and today went to look for Legal papers that said they were on the way and the courier leaves a note HOLDING OUR MAIL I SPECIFICALLY ASKED HER NOT TO HOLD. At this point she's literally targeting our house, targeting OUR family, and stealing opening mail is a FEDERAL felony. chesterfield usps needs to be investigated and cleaned up this is unacceptable. read more

I know there are a lot of negative reviews for post office employees, and I don't deny some are valid, but I had an unexpected experience that rates a full 5. My story - I went to the post office to renew my passport and get my last name changed due to marriage. Had a new picture taken but a nice lady. Put everything into the priority envelope and gave it to the man at the counter. After I got home, I realized I forgot to include my current passport. Drove back to the post office, asked the lady who took my picture and she said the envelope was already in the back. She asked for a supervisor. I met the supervisor, Arial (I think that was her name) and explained what happened. I gave her my receipt. She went into the backroom and 15 min later came back with my envelope!!! She asked me to identify it, I did, then she took my passport and said she'd insert it. I tracked my envelope online and found it was received at the passport office 2 days later. I can't say enough good things about Arial. She didn't have to do what she did but she made my day. The post office is lucky to have someone like her who cares so much about customers. read more

Received a form 3849 that they attempted to deliver a package but I wasn't home. I was literally standing outside watching the mailman place mail in my mailbox, no delivery attempt was made. Called the office 10 separate times with no answer. There is no excuse for this lack of customer service. read more

I received a email & text alert of a delivery made at 2:30 pm by the postal worker. Upon my arrival at 2:50pm I saw this lazy postal worker drove around a guests car in my driveway and went through my wet front yard that was just aerated, Lynette, and seeded. They broke a sprinkler and threw mud onto my house and left the tracks in my driveway. The idiot then backed up fish tailing through my yard in reverse tearing the yard up worse. I spoke with Thomas Call and he advised me to to put a bigger mailbox up so we they don't have to drive down my driveway. The postal service works and is funded by tax paying citizens now we need to protect ourselves from these untrained workers. Lowering standards is what those govt agency takes pride in. read more

I use the online service to see what mail is coming, I've now been waiting for a week for a credit card bill. They tried to say that sometimes it's not in the facility yet, but a week seriously? Nobody gives a care about the customers or their needs at this post office. My mail is never delivered to my home address but delivered to a neighbors or somebody else's house so I never receive it. Wait time is absolutely ridiculous over the phone to try to speak to anybody and to get in there is also an extreme weight which is absolutely ridiculous and if they need another post office branch then they need to build one so be it. I have called and reported multiple packages in my mailbox that have been opened and stuff spilled everywhere and some notes saying sorry does not cut it when it is materials that are liquid and then get all over your mail. They don't care about the County residents apparently to do this kind of stuff. Our regular Postman either quit or was moved up but I wish he hadn't. He was the only good Postman we have ever had in the last 40 years that we have lived here at this address. The one we have now to care less about anything but shoving two or three things in your box and leaving the mailbox open for us to see and for rain to get all in there and mess your mail up. Very pathetic and an excuse is unacceptable for this kind of behavior. I'm so tired of having to deal with this and it seems like the postmaster could care less because I have complained multiple times about this. If this is what our government has come to in the mail system then I will just switch mail systems all together and get my mail through a private service. It's a shame I have to do that because of incompetent disrespectful employees who do get paid quite a bit of money to do their job but aren't doing it. When you walk in to the store they are very racially motivated. The Latino American that was in front of me who could not speak English which it is a requirement for this country was treated like gold and yet I get up there and ask for my mail that was on hold and the lady snuffed her nose up at me and took 20 minutes very unexcessive and very discriminatory racial wise. I don't know if she did not like women or just the fact that I was white but that is not acceptable at all. Never have I been treated so racially disrespected. I'm sorry but I don't believe that white people have any advantage or privilege over anybody else because that is not the case. I work for everything I have and when my checks go to somebody else's house and I see that they are being cashed and I have to put a stop on them that cost me money because of the mail system and they're incompetent workers. I don't know if it's going to take a lawsuit or what is going to take because nothing I seem to do is getting through to these people. I'm not hard to get along with I just want my mail delivered to my house that I pay for and own outright. If I get someone else's mail open it up and keep it like it is their own. Does no good to report them because nothing is ever done. I'm so disguhgsted with this County and with this post office I am ready to move. I want someone higher up to read this because this concerns everybody. Racial discrimination is not acceptable and just putting whatever they want into the mailbox and throwing your other mail into other people's box is illegal. The layout of this Post Office was/is kind of funny. It is basically in a little valley and has a network of one-way streets throughout/around the parking lot area to guide traffic. I feel like it could get crowded and chaotic were it ever busy, which it seems like it might being the only post office on the western side of Chester it seems. The actual facility looked nice - it had a historic feel to it somehow, even more so than many other post offices. read more

I was recently receiving a package from amazon with only truck stickers inside the package, I get a notification that the post office (attempted to deliver) my package at 2:26 pm when it was only 10:30Am? That's what confuses me the most about this situation, how do you fail to deliver truck stickers into a mailbox it's not really that hard. I will be more than glad to demonstrate how to insert a package into a mailbox or how to sit it on someone's front porch. If you've been to one post office, you've been to them all. I found myself here because they have walk in service for your passport needs and I guess everyone in the area needed a passport this particular day because the wait was a bit painful. With that being said, the staff was very pleasant and on 3 different occasions came out to assure everyone that they would get to us as soon as possible.....now that made the wait just a little more tolerable, quality service is always a good thing....... read more

This big, brick, lors of parking post office does not sell stamps after business hours. No wonder the Post Office is going out of business. This postmaster should be working somewhere else. Update: the next day go to this post office during their open hours. 3 clerks, 2 dedicated to passports. 1 poor clerk with a line a mile long. Just to get two stamps. Ridiculous. Why no machine?
