During our visit to the post office today, we observed an interaction that raised some serious concerns. Andy, a staff member, was yelling, discourteous, and unprofessional towards a customer. Unbeknownst to him, a USPS mediator was in line behind the lady and intervened without de-escalation in Andy's rude behavior. It is disheartening to witness anyone being treated poorly. I want to express my appreciation for the other patrons in the post office who voiced their support for the woman and her young daughters. Andy's behavior was unacceptable. Chester post office . Well I think they are trying to improve. I have been in and been treated poorly by the clerk (a man) and then I've been in and had great customer service. This time it was 9:00 am and no one was in line ... wow that's a first. The clerk was friendly and welcoming. I complimented her on how well stocked the front was. Neat and organized. She expressed how she does this every morning she works. All your postal needs were there. Different size packing boxes and envelopes, cards, priority mail flat rate boxes and envelopes. A variety of stamps for all of us who still Send Mail. Yes I grabbed some. I was a happy customer when I left. Thank you Chester Post Office for all your hard work at delivering our mail. read more

Even compared to some of the more ornate post offices this one has a nice design to it with the clock tower out in front and its unusual diagonal shape. It also is in quite a good location being near a very dense area of Southeastern Chesterfield County. The facility has always appeared quite clean and the personnel seemed efficient and hard at work. They also have a decent amount of parking and a good drive-thru mailbox area. On the negative side there is something wrong with the road intersection entrance to the little complex it is part of with hidden but 'massive' potentially car-destroying 'ditches' in the road which really requires some awareness/caution while driving on an otherwise seemingly innocuous road. read more

Pro: very pleasant staff (I'm not used to nice ones...) Con: no shipping/vending self service machine... Boo! My schedule tend to be outside of their business hours so I like the post office with the machine I can ship using the self service machine and/or buy stamps. Dude, they need to update & get the machine! I hate standing in line! Otherwise, they have po box, nice peeps, ship & sell supplies & stamps. It's all good. read more

They're generally busy at this location, but they move through customers quickly. The location is a large Postal office, There are P.O. boxes, flat rate stations to pack your goods, and a self shipping location for times that the windows are closed. There is a worker there named Tracy, she helped me find the right package for an item that was too big for the box I'd chosen. I was obviously frustrated and self admitted to be having an awful day that had just been headache after headache. She worked with me and didn't take my unintended shortness as an insult. She helped me move my day in a better direction with her great attitude. I found the box I needed AND she helped me save $10.00. I will continue to come to this location to ship my goods, great customer service. read more

The Chester Post Office at 4328 West Hundred Road closed several years ago. It was torn down and a new Walgreen's was built at this address. Staff is pleasant, but service is not so great. Moved here a little over a year ago, and we do not get our mail consistently! Some months I get my mail, but most months I have to complain to get my mail. Christmas cards postmarked November 21, 2013, are just arriving. But we got the ones sent December 18, 2013 with no problem by December 23, 2013. This is an issue, when people are expecting something and the response is "the only dependable mailing method is to overnight it." I have a car note payment with the tracking number that I attempted to pay January 2013, that still has not arrived to the creditor to date, this post office cannot find it and will not refund my shipping charges for the package they cannot find that was in their care. I was lied to by the employee. He charged me package rates for two domestic Christmas cards and tried to charge me international package rates with a customs declaration form required for a third card. I've sent both cards and packages to international locations many times over the years. Cards were always charged as cards and did not require a customs declaration form. Packages were always charged as packages and did require a customs declaration form. This time I went ahead and paid for the domestic cards as packages ($3.50 each) but I refused to pay the international package rate for a Christmas card! I walked out with the international card and took it to the 23832 (Chesterfield) post office where I was charged $2.34 with NO CUSTOMS DECLARATION, like every other time I've mailed a Christmas card to that country. read more

The worst. Whenever I go out of town, I hold my mail. I always select the option to pick it up myself upon my return. This is the 2nd time (out of the only 2 times I did it) that they didn't have my mail because the carrier took it with her. Both times they blamed it on the "substitute carrier". read more

What a simple PO visit! I had two packages to mail and got there around 3:40 pm. I waited for a few minutes in line, but it moved quickly. The representative who worked with me was friendly, knowledgable, and genuinely helpful. Plus, she was super efficient! read more

This post office is terrible and the post master Ralph? He is a joke he walks around not knowing what's going on and doesn't care that the carriers miss deliver mail. I have had 6 packages go missing though here! 1 a year ago that got there and disappeared and 5 in the last two months that were either miss placed or delivered to another address all together. Visited the Chester post office today and had a delightful experience. I had quite a few shipments to make. Any employee could have seen me coming and run the other way! Instead I was met with a smile and a wonderful willingness to help. Tracy (Clerk #14) was outstanding. She was helpful, friendly, efficient and made a trip that I was dreading into a pleasant experience. She turned my day around! She was so helpful that I offered her a tip, which she politely declined, explaining that she was not permitted to accept tips. So add honesty and integrity to her list of attributes!!
