I'm not one to leave a negative review but what happened to me is baffling. The expected delivery dates are just about as accurate as the weather being cold in the South this winter and often lie to you...was that USPS....no, just a school bus. USPS claiming, they attempted delivery a week ago and left a notice, but my home security video shows otherwise. I was home the entire day because I knew my packages would arrive. I did not see the mailman come by during the time and did not receive a notice slip. I had video to prove that no one from USPS ever showed up at my house, despite what the tracking information said online. Don't bother calling them because they would just hang up on you. I went to the post office and it was cluttery and messy. I was able to retrieve my missing package. I did notice it was tampered with and one of my expensive dresses was missing. It looked as though someone had gone through my package of clothes I had ordered, and attempted to tape back each individual clothing inside. USPS (at least at this location) is a horrible carrier and they are terrible with customer service. They give USPS such a bad name! read more

We'd been having an issue with a package being delivered. The item was ordered and paid for on November 28th. The paid package entered the USPS package system on New 29th. The package went through the Houston Texas Center. After leaving the Houston Center it headed to Washington DC Center. The package left the Washington DC Center headed to the Richmond Virginia Center hopefully heading to our ZIP CODE 23234-3273. It floundered around the Richmond Center for a few days. Most recently the package was processed and eventually was sent to Fredericksburg Post Office Zip Code 22406. This Zip Code is some 50+ miles from the package original destination. When you try to contact someone about a problem that you're having....what you end up with is a bunch of CALL TREES and a computer that doesn't know a hill of beans about anything. Or your call is put into QUE to be hopefully answered by a human being....something that never happens. No matter how many times you make the call. No matter what time of day it may be. read more

USPS has fallen so far down. I had a package due for delivery, and where I live, mail is usually delivered around 12 PM. Lately, the driver has been coming out whenever she feels like it, making everybody wait. The USPS hasn't done anything about it. Start watching your local post office from now on. They are no longer trustworthy. read more

I went to this post office to ship a few items. I brought my own box and paid the shipping label before I got there. When I arrived I was told that they couldn't ship my items because my box was not sealed and they couldn't seal it for me because they didn't have any tape. What kind of post office doesn't have tape to package a box??It just sounded like they didn't want to do it. This was a huge inconvenience for me because I had to go to another post office where they actually had tape to package my items! read more

Terrible customer service. Will have your package priority mail sitting there for 10 days plus and do nothing about it. You have to call mutiple Times to get no answers but they will call you back and they don't call back. Ask for the supervisor to come to the phone to help resolve the issue and was told he was busy. read more

I am from out of town and had some very important mail forwarding needs. As I waited for the awesome clerk to call my home post office and make sure my mail was processed correctly I witnessed the only other clerk wait on person after person with the kindest demeanor. And I could really tell that it relieved the stress of every person in line. And I imagined while standing there that it can't be easy to always be that kind. Especially if it is not reciprocated by all. Both clerks went above and beyond in customer service. The Ampthill Post Office is blessed to have them. Wish I caught your names. But you know who you are and all who encounter your service know too. read more

I've been dealing with this post office for years, but since I've moved to my new location it's been issues. First all, how do you pass my door continue to walk up several steps out of your way to deliver my packages that clearly has my address on it to the WRONG door? Next you contact the post office nothing done. So I place a letter in the mail box to be sent off. Go back out later that afternoon same letter still in the mail box with the mail for that day. Ok so I decide to put the letter back in the mailbox the next day this time with a neon green stick note Please Send. Same thing happen letter left. I do not have time to play these silly games with the carrier. There was nothing wrong with this letter it had the proper postage on it. Anyway, I decided to contact the post office I've been calling for days. And still haven't had anyone to answer the phone yet. I was able to speak with someone at the toll free number who actually gave me a case number, but how is that going to help if I can't get an actual supervisor at this location to speak with me. I understand their busy but seriously it can't be that busy for no one to answer for days. read more

Eh what can I say the post office is the post office. This location has a good amount of parking and just like any other post office it serves your basic needs. Although almost every post office I've noticed that there never seems to be enough people working and it's hit or miss with the attitudes. Be sure to bring extra pens because there aren't any out. read more

This postal office is ridiculous. I had three (3) tracking numbers, went to my mailbox and nothing was there! Before my other packages came I went straight to the postal office to inform them. The clerk went to the back and replied, "Well, he said he delivered them." REALLY? I'm not legally blind and have access to ONE key to my mailbox and I clearly see my packages are not there! I filed a claim so we'll see. They got to do better... read more

no his post office steals packages! My delivery status stated my package was delivered at on in my mailbox. So 15 mins later i go to my mailbox and there is nothing inside. I called the post office stating my situation so the lady calls the driver. He said that there were no package for me ! So i went up to the post office and showed them my tracking information. They had no answers. So I emailed the sender and told them what happened. After the post office said my package was not deliverd the sender tracked down my "lost" package and found out that someone activated my electronic device. The gave me the email and I put in a police report and a mail theft at the post office. The next day I saw the mail carrier and he asked me about my package. I simply told him I know who it is and that it was a tracking device. So he started asking questions...that is when you know they steal packages. Some advice: hold your mail at the post office and just go pick it up. That is what I do now. read more

The "2 star" rating means, "I've experienced better" per this site, and in this case, it means "I've experienced better for years from this post office" but the last month or so has been a disaster! No mail, or mail delivered at 8PM or later (when the "norm" has been around 11AM for years), and now, take a number for a chance of getting your mail delivered! This is Thursday, after the Sunday snow storm, so Monday's non-delivery was acceptable...but what about Tuesday, Wednesday, and today? The Jeep made the rounds and stopped at other houses to deliver mail, drove past mine, and continued delivering to the other houses on the street. My mail flag was up to signal a letter was inside to be mailed, but no stop was made.....now come on, Christmas season and 4 days of no mail???? For a joke , try calling the Ampthill Station....804-275-0464. Constant busy all day. Answering complaint calls or not answering at all? No complaints about the staff at the desk....always helpful. Have tried calling. Automated answering service is so stupid and not user friendly. It's pretty obvious that said USPS store on meaddowdale Rd. n. Chesterfield,VA 23237 will never answer calls. Obviously one can't get help when there's no options for live operators!!! I can tell when regular mail delivery driver is off!!! SIs The Mail. Lucky to get delivery from UPS to USPS delivery to be on time. It always 2 days past delivery guarantee! Nothing good to say about the service when I'm there in line. Usually have 3-4 reps but only 1 usually working?!! I would rate lower but like always.... control about bad service is mandatory verses my truck opinion. read more

The worst post office service I ever had. Mail comes late everyday between 8-10 o'clock at night then sometimes no mail at all. I will see the mail carrier on the other side of the street but never shows up to put mail on the other side of the street, Why can't the mail be consistent? This is the only mail carrier that never shows up on time. Totally unacceptable. I guess that saying "We deliver rain, sleet or snow" doesn't apply to this post office. read more

The worst post office ANYWHERE! Mail delivery poor. Lost mail, failure to re deliver the mail after being on vacation. Misdelivered mail for the entire street (1 Mike); no one answers the phone for many hours, sometimes for days, the facility itself is poorly maintained, no self service in the lobby and even armed robbery in the daytime recently! Good Grief, can't the USPS do better for the public and especially, it's employees! read more
