Blink and you'll miss it! Right in the middle of east end apartments and a historic blue house. This is a small post office but customer service is wonderful. I forgot my package slip for pick up but it wasn't a problem! I just showed my ID and verified my address and I was good to go! Had a 1:00 afternoon appointment for TSA pre-check & got a really bad message on my phone 2-hours before my appt. Telling me we have a system problem but went anyway to see if it's resolved. For some reason, this post office does not accept cash. One time, I went there and they weren't accepting cards or cash. I guess their machine was down that day. read more

Very few Church Hill residents use the local post office. Invariably, there is one clerk sequestered behind the bullet-proof glass (at least I hope it is) and 10 people in line. If you have to mail a package, you stuff it in one side of box with a door and the clerk retrieves it on the other side. To give the employees credit, the staffing issue is probably not their fault. After all, this is the federal government we're dealing with. But, complaints about rude and slow service definitely need to be addressed. read more

I used to think there was no place worse, on earth or hell, until the day I called the 1-800-ASK-USPS number to ask them where the my package was, the package they said they left a note for (but didn't), at a time someone was there, if our delivery person only got out his truck and used the buzzer. This was at work. I am so lucky, that this is my post office for home and for work. Next time, I will go into this post office, rather than wait twenty minutes on hold to get someone SLOWER than the employees at this location on the phone. read more

Both our business and home are "serviced" by this PO, if you can call it that. At work, the bank of PO Box doors is routinely left completely unlocked and swung open, Priority and Overnight pieces aren't delivered - but pink "We Could Not Deliver" notes are stuck to our doors (which are open), and the ENTIRE building if ten business suites and twenty apartments' mail is regularly crammed into one person's or business's mailbox. At home, we've mailed cards from our home to our neighbor and the card's been sliced open, I was Treasurer of our civic assn. and ooten pick up mail from our PO box, mailed FROM this PO TO the same PO's box, with the tops cut open and dues checks removed. Our paychecks have been delivered opened, magazine bags with address labels are torn open and delivered, empty. One carrier stopped on her route to drink with a homeowner every day then would never finish her route - and everyone's mail disappeared, undelivered. One carrier shoved legit mail into junk mailers, and when residents filed complaints, she blew her nose in the junk mailers, shoved the other mail inside and crammed it all into the mail slots. I really love having a post office so close to me, but this one is barely sufficient. Prepare to time-travel because upon entering this PO you immediately feel like you have gone back in time about 10 years. This place is dingy, poorly-lit, and smelly. Once upon a time ago, there may have been other people working here so there are three stations behind that cloudy bullet-proof glass, but there's only ever one person working. So prepare to stand in line. And don't even think about grabbing a flat-rate box and preparing it before getting in line. Those are behind the counter, so you get to wait in line twice :) read more

If I could give this place -10 stars I would. I have spent more hours of my life trying than I care to describe lamenting over the hell that is this post office. I have sent extremely descriptive complaint emails to the USPS complaint line with no replies. I have spent hours (yes, hours) on hold for the USPS customer service line because I was so angry and desperate, just to never have anyone pick up and have to hang up. My un-deliverable mail gets sent here against my will and is left to die and never return. If anyone is successful in communicating with a human being who can help us shut this place down, PLEASE share how you did it. It needs to be demolished. read more

This post office is terrible. We live in a close by community where packages are to be delivered to the front office, yet we always get an "undeliverable" slip in the mailbox and to pick up at the office. Picking up at the office is basically impossible to do when you work a "business hours" job and the office has terrible Saturday hours. Horrible. read more

I don't know what the heck is going on at this location but the government needs to fire everyone. I haven't gotten mail all week and now I have to go see where it is. One minute the stuffing and ripping my mail in the box, filed a complaint now I get no mail. It has to be against the law to hold my mail without my knowledge. read more

This location is the deepest level of hell that exists. Like Ginger W., I would agree that the location is understaffed. I have always gotten decent service. The long lines and patrons that are always underprepared is the biggest challenge to using this post office. I would often choose to use another post office in the fan or one in glen allen when I was at work. read more

This is, by far, the worst post office I have ever been to. As another rater said, it is a new level of hell. I have often wondered if somebody died there and is left to haunt the place and suck the life and soul out of anybody who enters. There is a "service in 5 minutes" sticker that gives me a nice chuckle each time I enter, as I know I will be in there for at least 3 times that. The location is often understaffed, which is not the fault of the poor person working the desk. I have never once seen more than one person working there. If you need flat-rate boxes or envelopes, you have to wait an inordinately long amount of time in line in order to ask for them, usually to only then be told that they do not have any. The building is dirty and dark. I only go there because it is a 4 block walk from me, but I'm beginning to think more and more that it may be worth the drive to go elsewhere. I would love to leave feedback for the post office directly, but have yet to find a method for doing so. (The website only offers a place to leave site feedback.) If you need to get in and out, go elsewhere. Three people came and went without being served while I waited in line today. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would purely out of being so unprofessional as to not closing during the stated hours! I arrive and find new hours which is fine... but to state "closed for lunch" on A4 piece of paper stuck to the door with sticky tape and then be closed by the time I arrived at 1.20pm is laughable when you should be closed 1.30-2.30pm! As mentioned the 'office' is poorly lit, very different level of service from person to person, old fashioned, stuck in the 80's and doesn't even have a sign outside! Terrible post office always delivery checks two to three days late.

I am writing about one of your drivers. On Friday Oct 18, 2013 at approx. 8:25 AM on Grove Ave., Truck # 4810573 was SPEEDING. The speed limit is 35 MPH and he was doing at least 45-50 MPH for a distance of at least 1/4 to 1/2 mile. Then he speed though the light at Grove and Westwood. Also the yellow school lights were flashing the speed limit of 25 MPH. He also went through the light at Westwood just as the light turned red. I stopped at the light at Westwood and then was able to catch up to him at Malvern because he was stopped at that light. He was speeding on Grove but he also was over the speed limit for a school zone. If I see him again, I will make sure I get in front of him to slow him down to turtle speed., read more

10 out of the 12 months that I've lived in my current location I had a carrier who was amazing. She was friendly, caring and ALWAYS delivered my mail. This has changed within the last two months or so. I have seen 4 different carriers who arrive between 11am and 6pm. The problem is that within the last 4 weeks I have not received 3 different packages. I received notification that my packages have arrived at my mailbox but the zip code is always listed as one that isn't mine. The first time I received notice of a package that had arrived that actually didn't I called the post office. I gave a lady my tracking information and she said she would have someone call me within 48 to 72 hours. I NEVER received that phone call OR my package. The second and third time this happened I was NEVER able to get anyone to answer my calls at the post office. Luckily, people who received my packages by error brought them to my house. Today, I received notice that a package had been delivered... once again, no package and the notification showed it being delivered to a different zip code than mine. I've called and called several times over the last 3 hours with no answer. You'd think that with all the similar complaints from numerous people an investigation would be done and the issues would be resolved. I've lived all across the country and have NEVER had this issue with any other post office. I remember a time when I could ALWAYS count on the USPS. read more
