This is one of the most clean, organized, and friendly libraries I've ever been to. The staff is helpful and friendly, there are multiple computer areas for work, study, etc. Just yesterday one of the computer rooms held host to a computer lesson on word usage. I come here for tutoring and the parking lot is always clean, and even though the elevators occasionally go out, they're usually back up quickly. read more

Spacious library with lots of study areas and stunning outdoor seating/ views. Natural light pours in the high windows, despite the fog today. Could definitely see myself sitting out on the vast cobblestone patios in warmer weather. Exceptionally clean facility, probably new construction judging by the building design. Really charming children's area on the first floor. Heading upstairs, the layout is ideal for finding a quiet corner as a reading cubby or staying centrally located for human interaction. There are many different seating arrangements from enclosed study rooms to open computer labs, with cozy chairs, firm rollers chairs, and even Prussia style couches in sectional spaces. The drink & snack vending machines are a nice option although the surrounding area seems to offer a vast array of dining options. read more

I feel so fortunate to live so close to this library. It's such a stunner and filled with a top tier selection of books. It's super modern and feels brand new, with a self check-out option as well as a drive-thru book return and one at the lobby entrance also that's all digitized. I stopped by the reference desk and requested a book. A few days later, the librarian sent me an email to let me know they decided to purchase it and when to expect it in. So cool. There's also a lot of work and study spaces here, and a row of computers on the second floor. The downstairs has a large kids area, as well as a new releases section that I can't get enough of. I love-love-love reading, and this library just makes me so happy every time i walk through its doors. read more

Even though this is an Henrico County public library, I almost feel like this should be Richmond's central library! Even though the Richmond Central Library may be bigger and more established, Libbie Mill is awesome. It's got a good selection and it's got an awesome location in Midtown Libbie Mill, with plenty of outdoor seating next to the large pond they got out back. It's a vey modern library with plenty of study spaces and a 3D printer. The views are pretty nice and it's very relaxing. If you have a Richmond Public Library card, you can get an Henrico County library card for free as long as you have proof of residence. Even if you don't have that on you, you can still get a card with a 28-day temporary limit on it which you can use to check out up to 3 items at once. read more

This is a clean, sleek, modern, and well organized library. Located in the Libbie Mill shopping center between West Broad Street and Staples Mill, it's convenient and had its own large parking lot and is handicap accessible. There is a book return box inside the main doors before entering the lobby, so even if the library is closed you can still drop off your books before their due date. Inside there are both automated check out kiosks and service desks where staff can assist you. The first floor has a children's section and the second floor has public computers, study spaces, and all other genres of books. The selection is more limited than other branches of the Henrico Public Libraries, so I would recommend checking their online catalogue before visiting if there's a particular book you want. I do wish there were more computers or tablets dedicated to searching the catalogue on site so that you don't need to log in to a desktop. read more

I really like this library and felt comfortable studying in this nice and quiet environment. The wifi was alright when I had meetings.

Nothing less than 5 stars for this library! I love this place so much I have been back twice in the last 3 days. I am sick and tired of working at home and all of the distractions that come with it. I came in this past weekend to work and was so productive that here I am, back again. I love all of the private study rooms! They happened to be full, but I found a great room in the Teen work area that had a white board and made myself at home there for hours. I love all the wonderful light that the whole library gets. It's big, it's clean, it's well organized, and it has more work areas than I've seen in any other place. People seem to really respect the quiet environment here. I haven't heard anything over a whisper. I also love that I can break for lunch and walk to The Stables Market or Crafted for lunch. You can also take a walk around the lake to stretch your legs. There's great scenery all around, and not a fluorescent light to be seen. This is a wonderful place to work or study! Can't wait to bring my kids here for storytime soon. read more

This has been a noisy experience. One librarian rolled through a noisy metal cart which is understandable maybe since there was one pass. However, there has been a librarian on the second floor rear computers just noisily tossing books around and on the shelves. This has been going on for 10 minutes. They are not being placed quietly but tossed onto shelf. read more

This library is quite impressive! There's something exciting about a library that is newer as well as the fact that it has a pier/deck behind the branch which would be perfect in warmer temperatures. This location hosts ample parking, new technologies that separate it from other neighboring branches in addition to, providing ample room to spread out and study or find a quiet space. This location has three floors--the first floor has a circulation desk, cool digital book return drop slot I enjoy that you can print a proof of return receipt, the kids area is also on this floor, there are some tables and chairs. The second floor is probably the busiest as it has an adult section, study rooms/conference rooms, digital media lab, and teen area amongst many computers and seating areas to choose from. I would definitely come back and I enjoyed my time here! read more

With the COVID-19 situation, the library offers people that have material on hold the ability to curb pick up. It was so easy to use arrived at the parking lot call the number the librarian takes your name phone number and library card you a couple of minutes later they come out drops the book or DVD on the table in front of the library you drive up to pick up your material and as you leave they come out and sterilize the table. This is a new and beautifully modern library. The library has elegant, peaceful spaces for everyone. There are sections for children, teens and adults. There is also a media center. There are very nice study/work areas with different types of seating and some have outlets. Behind the library is the Libbie Mill Pier and Deck. It's a relaxing area with different seating areas including benches, tables, and swings. This is now one of my favorite libraries. read more

I freaking love this library. I've been coming here since it opened and it has been nothing but great for me. It has free wifi for the people who come there to use the computer, read on their kindles, find research papers, and students. I have to admit that I LOVE studying here. I love how clean it is and how quiet it is for me to work and get my assignments done/ I tend to come here because it's literally across the street from my workplace. I tend to come here right after work and claim one of the upstairs table to work on my MBA degree. I tend to come up on here to work on my assignments and research in this wonderful environment. It is a very beautiful place and I highly recommend for Richmond/Henrico Residents to use this place if they can. (Maybe not Richmond since there is a RVA library in the city.) read more

The Dumbarton library off Staples Mill closed and its replacement is Libbie Mill closer to Willow Lawn. Gorgeous! They have conference and meeting rooms, study rooms, and lots of computers. Clean, bright and spacious. The outdoor spaces are even beautiful. The last time I went, there were many kids taking prom pictures there, so the man-made lake provides a nice backdrop. Unfortunately during Thursday night's storm, they lost power and as of Saturday were still out. If you haven't been to a public library in a while, everything is automated. Reserve a book online, get a notice when it's available, and go through the self checkout. So convenient! Leave the library and get a bite at Shagbark (former chef from the Jefferson) when it opens in a few short days! read more

Recently got back into the library since I travel a lot for work and figured why buy books when I can check them out? This library is brand spanking new and has some pretty cool features. There's a 24 hr book drop outside which is all computerized and super cool. When you want to check out anything you scan your card at a self service kiosk and scan the book and then you're good to go! No waiting in lines or anything. Also the layout of the library is very convenient and they have a large selection of audiobooks as well as computers for internet access. read more

This is definitely a beautiful library! Since this location is closer to my office than my home, I don't typically bring my kids, but there is a wonderful kid's area that I recommend visiting with your children. I personally love that you can reserve your books online and pick up at the drive up window without ever leaving your car; the McDonalds of books! Its a wonderful thing to me!! Where do I start?! I've been coming here for about 3 years now, since moving to rva. I've had so many incidents where I've been discriminated against and blatantly lied too. I will first start by saying these ppl at this location do not like brown/black people. Racist workers! I should've known this when I also noticed there are no black or brown people employees. Back in March my AirPods were stolen from in front of my computer, after filing a police report and contacting several employees at this location, NOBODY COULD HELP ME ! The manager refuse to look at the cameras, I was advised to contact the HENRICO county security office to have the cameras pulled, I did exactly that, but henrico county security refused to do so, mentioning that it was up to Libbie Mill Library to authorize the cameras to be pulled, the police could not do much because of the library personnel who refuses to access the camera so we can see who stole my belongings this was one of several incidents. The library personnel are all white people not one black or brown employee works at this location if you're black and brown American I highly suggest visiting another library in the area perhaps Tuckahoe library. Every single time I come in Libbie Mill Library there's this one lady who works on the second floor in the teen library section she dresses like a boy and she walks around with a frown with a tough guy demeanor all day, she thinks she's a man, she dresses like a man (if you go to this location you'll know exactly who I'm referring too) she harasses me every time I come to this library it's so blatant that she doesn't like Black people because of her tone, but every time I come to the library I'm treated very unfairly if you have belongings please leave them in the car even if they are just headphones. I've spoken with several managers and supervisors but no one seems to care and no one seems to want to help, interesting enough a couple years ago I had a friend who's wallet was taken right off his desk, He told me the cameras were poured in the library did everything they could to help him get his wallet back he wasn't able to get his wallet back but he did state to me that he was satisfied because everyone was so helpful I could guess why they help him and why they were so helpful and the only thing I could come up with is because he's a white man. I didn't get the helpful people when my incident happened. I couldn't even get a call back. The young lady who works the door during Covid checking temperatures she is a sweetheart and she's always nice to me however all the other workers have encountered at this Libbie Mill Library location it's clear to me that they do not like Black people and I will continue to spread the news because I don't think that Black people and brown people should have to deal with especially at a library . The reason I decided to leave this review today is because I'm currently sitting at Libbie Mills library parking Lot and today I had an incident where I was harassed once again this time I was harassed to move out of a meeting room that I actually reserved, the library employee questioned whether I reserved the room, (which I did) If I was a white man this would not have happened period. This is not the last they will hear from me as I will be contacting some higher ups and attorney for advice. DO NOT VISIT THIS LIBRARY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ! I love bringing my toddler to the library. They have a great children's section with with a huge selection of books, computers, and reading nooks and benches. They also offer story times throughout the week, which are led by energetic individuals who create a fun atmosphere for the kiddos. The library also has some toys to play with and a mini kitchen play area. Kids will be entertained for hours! On warm days, you can walk around the large pond. read more

Imagine this: you drive off the highway Route 95 and drive by a smallish city skirting Virginia's Capitol of Richmond. All of a sudden on the horizon you see a glassy futuristic publicly funded building shining in the distance. Driving past the fountains and the 1000+ manicured shrubberies you park and enter what you realize is a library from the future. You enter the 30 million dollars building, yes that's correct this library cost 30 MILLION DOLLARS!!! Tax payer money spent by the legislature which has endless pockets. Where you looking for endless stacks of books? Bah we have computers instead. Want to do some paper machete? We have 3d printers printing all the crazy things your heart can think of. Need to rent out a room for a meeting? No problem we have a $10000 projector overlooking an artificial lake behind you as you speak at the podium all for free of course. Once you get over the cost of the whole thing and the lack of excessive books you'd be used to in the 20th century it's pretty awesome to behold. Check it out for yourself, the luxury and splendor of a big city library nestled in a random section of West Henrico. God Bless America read more

What an aesthetically pleasing library! I normally go to the one in Glen Allen but I think this one is closer to me. I love the number of sitting areas around the library, I haven't really done much checking out of books or materials but I really loved how well designed this library is. The fact that it has lots of windows for natural sunlight and a really neat layout of the floor plan is what attracts me. I can't believe I am even reviewing a library but it was worth the time because if you are around the area this library worth checking out! read more

This is by far the nicest public library I have ever been to. It is extremely modern, and very new. There are many self service stations which makes returning books and checking out new ones very convenient. If this particular library doesn't have a book that you want, you can go online and request the book be sent from another library if its available. I love coming here because it feels "studious" it reminds me of a college campus library. There are many spots to sit and read, or use your computer. I love the little "reading/study nooks". There are also computers you can use on the second floor if you don't have your own. You can even go outside and read next to a beautiful water fountain. read more

First, the children's section is very very pleasing. There's a kitchen center and block center for kids to roam and be creative. There's also lots of roaming room for books reading! Or playing in general. You HAVE to make story time with Chris. He's amazing. He plays guitar and is so enthusiastic with his activities all the kids, tall and small, are glued! The outdoor area with the fountain and swings is also very aesthetically pleasing. GREAT FOR NANNYING! They also have a lot of different types of chairs so of the more comfortable than others. Outside they also have a beautiful pier and deck with swinging chairs and tables. Amazing place. The library also has three floors and all are spacious. They also have many quiet study areas and a lab and a computer area. They also have different sections in the library for teens, children, and adults. The only downside is that they don't seem to get a lot of new books. If you want to get a book that they don't have, though, the librarians can always order it for you from a different library. I highly recommend this library. read more

This Library is very loud. They allow individuals to hang out by the elevators and have loud conversations. This behavior has been consistent with all of my visits. If you're coming here to study, consider going somewhere else. It is very hard to concentrate with all of the loud distractions. This library is so beautiful! It is brand new, and state of the art. I visited today, and have used the drive through service previously. The HCPL website is very easy to use, you can place a book on hold or be placed in a queue for a popular book and get an email when it is available. They hold it for 4 days and you can request to pick up through the drive through on onsite. It's a wonderful service! In the building, there are iPads all over to search what you are looking for an lots of self-checkout stations. The area around the library is beautiful and serene. Too bad Southern Season isn't there anymore to pick up more goodies in Libbie Mill. Check out this library, you won't be disappointed! read more
