This is my neighborhood library and I love to bring my kiddos here to explore the kids section. The…read morekids section is packed to the brim of great books for kids. It can be a little overwhelming as there isn't really a rhyme or reason to the arrangement of the books. They also have a few toys and interactive play areas as well. The adult section is a little bland. The books are dated. I often have to have books delivered from another Library because they usually don't have it here. They do have a large magazine area with comfy oversized chairs. This library is outdated in comparison to its sister location at Atlee and could benefit from a refresh. The librarians are always super friendly and willing to help.

I must say the first time I went to this library with my two younger sons I was very impressed. The…read morelibrary itself is very new, the outside and inside reflect that. We only ventured to their children's section that is offset from the library. Their storytime is wonderful, the lady who reads the books to the children does a wonderful job, she is very engaged. She reads about 3 books based upon a theme and at the end the children do a related craft, very cute! The children's area itself is very nice, their are several computers for children to learn/play complete when headphones. Several areas for them to sit and read and lots of toys/gadgets, very nice. As much as I loved this place the first time I expected my second visit to be just as wonderful. Unfortunately, we missed storytime due to a mix up in time but my friend and I decided to let our children stay in the children's area. After an hour someone from the library came to us and asked us if we could be a little quieter. Seriously?! Yes, this is a library but we are in the children's section and if children laughing is a bother why attempt to cater to young children, needless to say, we left shortly after. Overall this is a nice library with many activities for families during the week and the weekend! Story time is amazing!

This is a relaxing and quiet place to get work done and feel inspired. They have a fantastic selection of books and it's organized so thoughtfully. Whenever I come here, I adore exploring the front "hot and new" books section. It has to be my all-time favorite front section of any library I've been too. This place is huge. There is tons of seating to read or get work done at. There are also a lot of private rooms you are able to rent upstairs for meetings. It's very modern here. A few of my favorite things here right now are: - The try a new hobby bookshelf with books on crochet, knitting, gardening and more - The pie bookshelf filled with cook books on pie making - The book club bags with multiple copies of a book for your book club You gotta come here, it's really great! I've said it once before and I'll say it again, but this one's for the books.

As a University of Richmond alumn, I have many fond memories of Boatwright Library. It was usually…read moreopen 24 hours a day back when I was a student, and I watched many sunrises and sunsets from the second floor silent section. There are two basement levels with reference sections, the ground floor, and the second floor up the dramatic lobby staircase. In the entrance to the building is a small coffee shop called 8:15, originally named after the earliest classes offered at UR (although now classes begin at 7:30). It has Starbucks coffee products, pastries, and some other small snack items for sale. They accept cash, card, and UR dining dollars. Food and drink is allowed in most parts of the library, and you'll often see students order pizza or Jimmy Johns to the ground floor. The basement levels are typically quiet or silent study only, as are parts of the second floor. This is taken very seriously, so you should not even whisper or open a packet of chips in silent areas. If you need to collaborate with a group or use A/V equipment, study rooms are available to be scheduled at the front desk. While it is accessible to the public during the day, please do be respectful of the fact that this is one of the primary places for students to study on campus, and that they should be prioritized. It was incredibly frustrating when I wasn't able to find a seat or the library was loud and messy because of non-students using it as a hangout spot.

They have a good amount of bike lock space and a little parking lot behind it. The librarians who work here are very kind and helpful. It's a smaller library, but has most of the good stuff (at least in regards to what I'm trying to read). Like all libraries, you can put a book on hold or have a book sent to this library if it's not at this location. They have computers for their online catalog. They also have quite a few computers you can log into for personal use. This library is a great spot to get some work done or (surprise) read a book. I love all the natural lighting that spills into this space. ***PRICE*** It's free! It's a library. If no one has a hold on the book you're borrowing it'll automatically renew. ***BATHROOM*** There are single all gendered stalls you can use that are clean. ***CONCLUSION*** I love this library for its librarians, its space, and its books!
