It's a big post office with so much space and although it's a busy location, you can get through the post office lines rather quickly. It's also clean, is well stocked and maintained, and there are many amenities here, e.g. a greeting card stand, decorative mailers and shipping packaging, a self-serve kiosk, and plenty of post boxes. What's to hate? The passport department! This is one of the main places in the Richmond area to apply for your passport. We had to jump through multiple hoops to just get here as our appointment time and location was constantly being changed by the passport office. It was a headache! But we finally tracked down the proper date, location, and arrived! You have to drive around to the back of the post office to an underground sketchy area. There's a buzzer and an intercom to enter this dingy, stark cavernous office. It's worse than the DMV! It felt like an interrogation room. People sitting around waiting... and waiting. We waited over an hour after our appointed time before our name was called. All the paperwork was filled properly out, but the lady behind the counter made an error and asked us to redo the forms. Then when we went to pay, she said only check or debit card. That info wasn't on the site. So we had to call our bank to finagle our payment, and thankfully after some wheeling and dealing our payment was accepted (through no fault of our own). It was such a horrible ordeal, I began perspiring profusely and literally felt faint due to the rigamarole and didn't think the paperwork would get processed. What a complicated bunch of red tape! It took hours! I noticed several other customers going through the same hell we were going through. It was like a breath of fresh air when we finally walked out of that paper maze! So if you're just going to mail a letter or send a package, you'll be fine. But lord help you if you need a passport!

Being rude that he has 22 big projects going on and not willing to give me the service. I am thankful that he picked the phone to speak but if you are understaffed and cutting corner to save money, I am not sure about the professionalism if there is any issue with the job. I am glad not to use this facility for my "small" printing needs.

The older gentleman named Robert is VERY rude. I come by about twice a week to drop off packages and I've watched his interactions with others. He's fine with men, it's women, especially older women, that he's rude with. Robert will cut you off, huff and puff at you, snatch your packages, always makes some sort of comment and makes every interaction more difficult than it needs to be. Everyone else working here is friendly and helpful, this guy just seems to hate his job and helping others, especially women.

Which was not true because it was never delivered. The box was so damaged UPS decided to send it back to Richmond. It was coded on the tracking that they called me the sender. The manager did try to file a claim for the insurance that they say you are entitled to unless you pay more. It was refused. I visited again today to see if I could at least get my shipping fee of over $100 refunded since they never delivered my box. The answer I got was no; they will not refund my money. They say corporate changed their policy so you can send a package from their store and it gets damaged and returned and they are not obligated to refund your money. Of course, they don't share that with the public. I will never send another package UPS. Especially since the holidays are coming up. My package was delivered safely by FedEx, after I replaced the broken contents. I plan to share this information with as many people as I can to spare anyone else of this nightmare.
