My wife and I went to the UPS store to have passport photos taken. Sheena was the person who helped us, made the photos, etc. She was very friendly and made the whole process quick and pleasant and easy. My wife mails regularly at this store and the packages go out very quickly. My daughter has a mailbox in this store and has been using UPS for several years, very happily. The people who work in this store are friendly and effective. They know what they are doing and the mail we send there gets delivered quicker than from the USPS. read more

The woman behind the counter was so rude. There were 3 people in the store. She roughly directed us to use the self-help kiosk. I went over to use it and the computer asked "does your item fit in the plastic bag?" It didn't, so it directed me to go back to her. She then rudely demanded that I hand over the items and didn't look at me the entire time. She treated me like I was an interruption of her day rather than the purpose for her to be there. This chick doesn't seem to realize that she has all the control here. Nobody moves until she gets to them. The ball is all in her court, and she's treating us like we're the problem. I get that some people have issues, but don't take it out on other people. The UPS Store is ALWAYS like this. It doesn't matter which one I go to. I suspect it has something to do with the work culture at UPS. When I have a choice to go elsewhere, I do. read more

Thumbs UPS!! I came by to send a package and it was a breeze! There are many ways to mail packages & boxes these days, and if you've been to the post office lately, you'll notice the lines are sooo long! So think out of the box, and send your package via UPS! You won't find long lines here... I walked right in and was immediately helped by a pleasant worker! Depending on the weight, it may be pricier to ship with UPS, but it's worth it. Once my package was processed, I received a receipt to track the box and was on my way! If you have a huge object to ship, or a fragile item, you can rest assured they will "handle with care"! They have stations for every-"ING" you may need: shipping, copying, mailing, faxing, packing, printing, supply"ing"... this is a one stop shop for your office or personal needs. There's also a greet-ING card display. The convenient hours are 8:30-7:00 M-F & 10:00-3:30 Sat. There's plenty of parking in the Gayton Crossing Shopping Center, but since they are renovating the signage for the businesses and shops, you'll notice the temporary huge banners designating each space. read more

Sheena is a joy to work with. A truly friendly and capable professional. Also, extremely talented. I was in on Friday night, to get my Mother's Day card up north before Sunday. It was the cutoff hour, but she was calm, and she and I were having a nice conversation. While we did, she was simultaneously checking prices for shipping, interspersing the figures into our dialogue unobtrusively. Then, I moved to the screen to start the shipment process, and I saw, to my surprise, that it was already done. All the to/from data was filled out, and the whole thing was ready to go. She had read the addresses on the card and set the whole thing up, in a minute or two, while chatting and price-quoting, using bother hands to type into different systems. I was amazed. She's not just ambidextrous. She's triplidextrous. She can do three tasks at once. read more

Update to my review. BIG props to the new owners! I decided to give the store a try again for shipping services and printing. Lots of friendly and efficient staff (with some repeat faces from years ago too!), tons of help when needed on the copiers for little quirky jobs I needed and going the extra mile to offer to cut down card stock for me. Offering extra tape to secure packages which, if you go to USPS, doesn't always happen! Never feel like I'm waiting in big lines and appreciate knowing there are boxes, tape to buy and office supplies or greeting cards there in a pinch when I need them (also appreciate the store staff having a sense of humor when my toddler decided to ransack one of the stands and I frantically "bought" the cards. Also appreciate generally the UPS store relationships with Amazon, Comcast and others!! Genius. Love that you just have to scan and drop items versus boxing up everything. Anything to make life easier is appreciated and I give this alllll the stars especially when my husband recycles all my boxes when I need to make returns! read more

I had at least 10 boxes to mail for an elderly friend of mine, sending out belongings to 7 different family members. Store manager, Christine Bailey, was extremely helpful!!! She was so kind, easy-going, and made the process a breeze. She helped me figure out which boxes to ship as is and which ones needed to be re-packed, utilizing their pack and ship option. While helping me, she was also conscious of the long line and asked a few times if anyone was dropping off in order to expedite them. I was super impressed with her (and the other associates) customer service level and efficiency. I wish I lived in the are because I would only go to this store! read more

BEWARE!! BAD LOCATION The manager Christina Bailey was VERY VERY RUDE AND NASTY! This he refused find my package or explain why it wasn't there so I left and came back at another time and tried to speak with another employee. she tried to stop that employee from helping me told him it was a waste of time I asked her to please allow him to look for my package she threaten to kick me out and threaten to call the police on me I am a black mother with a three-year-old child and during a time where black men and women are being killed for being black I believe it was very irresponsible of a manager of a UPS store to threaten to call the police on someone for just wanting her to find a package. I sold an item on social media, and had to ship it. I was new to shipping, so I went in to the UPS store. I must have just looked helpless, because within moments a woman asked me if she could help me. I confessed I was new to the game, and she kindly and easily walked me through the best way to ship within what I wanted to spend. Thank you! It arrived safely. read more

Service is efficient and friendly enough but a small package (about the size of a notebook) cost me $30 to send to WV (that was the cheapest delivery method, too). So from now on, for the price, I think I will stick to the US Postal Service and their self-service kiosks. read more

Hey! Great store! I needed something to be in NYC on a Friday, so I mailed it USPS (that's the regular post office, not this place) on a Thursday, Paid extra and got a confirmed delivery time of 12 noon on Friday the next day. Cool. Well, checked online via the tracking number the next morning, and it had just left Richmond at 9am. Hmm. Probably will not get to Manhattan by 12, but as long as it's before the end of the business day all is good. Nope. Checked the next morning, on Saturday, and it was now in Tampa. For some reason. Ok. Upon calling the 800 number, I was told that it would likely get there by Monday, but was offered no guarantees. Oh boy. What's funny is that upon sending it, I thought, "Wow, the US post office really is pretty amazing. They can get something delivered in less than 24 hours, and on top of all that mail every day, too." Well, they actually are pretty awesome, but this was one of those times where they dropped the ball real hard. Anyway, so I had to scramble around on Saturday to find a place to send it, as well as someone to notarize the thing. And finding a notary is really, really hard on a Saturday in Richmond. All the banks were closed by this time, and the local UPS store that I went to didn't keep a notary on the weekend schedule. Neither did any of the other UPS stores that I called. Called multiple law firms, multiple bail bondsmen. Nothing. Called my brother, who happened to be working his office gig on a rare Saturday, but their notary was out. He ended up, after calling a few other UPS stores (seven in total, between the two of us) and finally found this place, which is on a pretty far orbit from where I live. Notary onsite, come on down. Boom. Got there, and was in and out in like four minutes. Seriously. The dude working the counter was really friendly and personable, and also really, really efficient and good at his job. Wish I had caught his name. He is kind of young, maybe thirty. He was the notary onsite that day, so maybe that helps. Hold onto that guy, UPS overlords! He was great. Package arrived in NY at 9:30 on Monday, which is right when he said it would be there. Go UPS Store at Gayton Crossing! You brought your A-game! read more

Having just returned from my experience of shipping a vintage instrument at the UPS store, I must praise the management and staff for GREAT customer service. After carefully constructing a shipping package on my own, albeit from a UPS box I purchased last week, I learned that the tab for shipping was going to be well over $100.00. I guess the look on my face was obviously one of shock. At this point both the owner and the staff began measuring and figuring out an option that was within my budget. Absolute worst customer service in the world! I used ups to mail a dish as a gift. The box was handled to terribly it was delivered literally in shreds, with the contents shattered. When I asked that I be reimbursed for the shipping charge and the dish, the owner told me no. That he didn't pack the box, so there's nothing he could or would do for me even though I had gotten the package insured. He and his wife were beyond rude, resorting to yelling at me in the phone and hanging up on me. I will drive the extra miles for another ups store or FedEx. read more

People working at the Bon Air UPS are fine, but my passport photo was not accepted by the State Department. The letter I received states that, "The photograph you submitted cannot be used because your image appears either underexposed or exposed and your facial features cannot be clearly identified." I'm not sure what's wrong with the photograph - my facial features are there but maybe the background is a little too dark, a kind of grey color. read more

I have decided to visit all the ups stores in my area. When I walked in this particular store first off my daughter and I heard cursing and an Asian man telling a dirty joke. This same man then decided to look at me like I was a piece of meat.... He was in the middle of something so I was helped by a young woman with brown hair. She said she and the Asian guy were the managers ..... I proceeded with my transaction but this young lady was very rude and snobby. She quoted me for an air package when I specifically said I wanted to ship ups ground. She said I didn't specify that to her. If she would have listened she would have known what I was trying to do. She also told me I couldn't use my box for shipping. When i said I would take the item to the post office she said well we might can make an exception. I was not happy with this store at all and will not be returning. read more
