Most of the post office is in Jacksonville are short staffed and over loaded with customers. I come to Verna post office at least once a week for items I sell online. I've had good experiences at this post office. The staff is always helpful! especially Tiffany, who assisted me with my passport renewal. While the lines can get long, they move efficiently. The interior is a bit outdated and could use some updating, but overall, it's a reliable location. People may not know this, but if you have a label on your package ready to go you can use the self-serve scanner before you get inside to the line. You can scan your package and then skip the line and drop it off to the side. Some post office etiquette for those who don't understand how the shipping system works: YOU HAVE TO SCAN YOUR PACKAGES BEFORE LEAVING THEM ON THE COUNTER. THEY WILL GET LOST! And that is on YOU! You should never leave without a receipt that you dropped off your package.

I asked her to actually measure it as I had already paid over $200 to have it shipped. She told me no until another employee walked by. She told the other employee she had already measured it, but was gonna do it again. She measured it and when she realized it was in the 108" parameter and she was wrong she added an extra 30" thinking I wouldn't see. I asked to measure it and got 86". She said she didn't care she's not taking the package. Was very rude and extremely unprofessional. I asked for her name and she told me to make sure I type it with an E. I got home and looked online and the parameter is actually 130" so I was well within even with her fake measurements. Not sure what her issue was and if she was just having a bad day and taking it out on me, but she needs to go to the back if she is gonna behave that way. But when I go to the worker next to him and try the same thing, there's never an issue and everything works just fine. Anthony also tells me every time I go up to him that I can just use the self service kiosk, making it clear he does not want to have to deal with me. He grabs packages out of my hand aggressively, and when I hold up my phone for him to scan my QR codes, he physically grabbed my hand roughly and yanked it towards him. I found this incredibly unprofessional and went off on him and walked out. The next time I came in, I went to the self service kiosk instead of going to the counter, as he suggested I do multiple times, and he actually walked out from behind to counter out to the lobby, came up to me and said "hey Katie!" So I guess he was bothered by our interaction to the point of going through the trouble to find out my name, and is trying to intimidate me or something. Just overall weird and unprofessional. I don't know if he's racist, sexist, or just hates everybody in general, but another customer did mention that his 18 year-old daughter came in there and Anthony was yelling spitting in her face and she felt threatened that he would get physically violent with her and left in tears. So I'm not the only woman he's been hostile to. I'm sure that incident was probably reported, but the post office is aware of him being an issue and refuses to do anything about it. So all that to say if you see this worker that goes by the name "Anthony", a larger male with short receding curly hair and freckles on his face, just be warned in advance. I walk in with a toddler, and a baby in a car seat and my 5 year old was holding the door as she is coming to tell us it's closed. I am in the military, which is also a government agency and if someone came in at 1255 We would still help them because that is proper customer service. It's not one yet so we aren't closed. 1. It isn't 1 yet and 2. You never know what someone is going through. If the establishment isn't taking people after 1250 to be done be 1 then the hours of operation should definitely be changed and doors locked. Coming from another city, a single parent, carrying around babies trying to get things done, this place really isn't a friendly place to live.
