I am coming in from out of town and the post office closes at 1. I was in a little before and the person that worked there immediately told me the post office was closed. I walk in with a toddler, and a baby in a car seat and my 5 year old was holding the door as she is coming to tell us it's closed. I am in the military, which is also a government agency and if someone came in at 1255 We would still help them because that is proper customer service. It's not one yet so we aren't closed. 1. It isn't 1 yet and 2. You never know what someone is going through. If the establishment isn't taking people after 1250 to be done be 1 then the hours of operation should definitely be changed and doors locked. Coming from another city, a single parent, carrying around babies trying to get things done, this place really isn't a friendly place to live. read more

I live in CA but I had a package get delivered to the wrong address in Fairfield CT. It was suppose to go to Florida. I submitted a claim and Ruth contacted me to help me figure out why it was delivered there. She is friendly and helpful. I was given all the information I needed and she helped me find the right type of postage mailing I needed for my paperwork I was mailing, and how to get exactly what I needed and at a great price for me. Thank you for great service and quick service, something at my neighborhood post office can't do, as it is always packed there. I have been there frequently in 2023 for eBay mailings. the staff are friendly and thorough (as required by their regulations). if there were any "rude" people working here in the past, they are gone now. Dealing with the public can be stressful and difficult at times. Hard to understand a lot of the negative reviews unless there was a large staff change. read more

Rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. My company spends a few hundred dollars a year on USPS services and has yet to have a positive experience. The office is understaffed, management is unresponsive to the point of being belligerent, while the concept of good customer service is apparently unknown here. Been living in OP for nearly 14 yrs. I stopped by this morning to dropped off two packages. After my transaction, I realized that I needed to finalized one thing regarding my mail being forwarded to a different address. Clerk #72 ended calling the manager because he couldn't help me at that moment, which is understandable. The clerk ended ringing the bell about 4-5 times to call the manager. I waited and waited. Another employee ended getting him from outside. When the manager, Kevin was walking towards me, not a question, not a good morning not a how can I help you. He was holding his phone, ask for my name and address and walked away. He said he needs to check for something and he'll be back, as I waited for more, I saw him walking towards the back again and texting. I didn't see no urgency, no compassion and no sense of helping. So I decided to leave. My time is important too. Thank you for the other two employees who tried to help me. Kevin needs to learn from those two. He doesn't seem to care at all. read more

Horrible woman at the post office overcharged me like crazy. My father died & I had to ship a bunch of stuff up to Boston for my family. Inside the boxes were books, notebooks, papers. I wanted to use media mail because I am completely broke from this abrupt trip to take care of my fathers affairs, no one else could do it. Simply because I chose NOT to LIE and told the postal clerk there were notebooks inside the boxes she charged me for regular mail. It ran me $200 to ship books, notebooks and papers. Almost as much as a plane ticket to come here. I don't understand why she couldn't just help me. A box that would have been $16 dollars to ship media mail suddenly became $54. I started crying in the post office because now I have no money to even eat when I get home. I don't understand why people are so horrible. I hope she is very proud of herself for doing such a wonderful job making money for the post office. Perhaps her supervisor was watching her and she was scared to get in trouble. Perhaps she was scared to get fired. All I can say is what goes around comes around. Perhaps God should fire her from being a person since she's doing a truly awful job at it. Thanks lady. This location has drastically improved over the past four years. In the past, my personal mail was always delivered to the wrong address/person, while I received someone else's. Their customer service was poor and they were less than helpful. I submitted plenty of complaints. Now, my mailperson delivers the mail before 1(typically) and I never have issues with missing/wrong mail. Whether in person, or by phone, they are helpful and have you out the door pretty quickly. Not perfect, but I've never been to a postal location that is. read more

Was close to 1700 I had one package stamped etc & for my second one I had submitted the wrong customs form & the clerk yells at the one waiting to lock the door "I was told that if they need to fill out a customs form and we are closing then they need to come back in the morning" The one at the door grunted! I thought she was joking BUT SHE WAS SERIOUS? I asked her why & she said the truck driver was waiting to take the mail ???? PULEEZE??? Like the driver could give a rats behind about my package?? I'm happy to share the positive experience I had at the Orange Park Post Office, thanks to Bianca! While the Holiday Season is a time of hurried activities, like getting packages mailed out before Christmas Day, there are postal staff genuinely concerned about assisting the general public in accomplishing this process as smoothly as possible! If not for Bianca's focus and attention to detail, in my hast, I had addressed a package to myself-resulting in the recipients (our grandsons), never receiving it as planned. I've had not so pleasant postal mailing experiences in the past, but after having had such a satisfactory go around (during a year with so much else reeking havoc due to the Pandemic), I was compelled to say something positive. Thanks to all of the Postal workers who diligently do their jobs with a smile, good humor and true customer service at heart....especially at Christmas! Workers here have an attitude and don't know their own USPS policies. Went to mail a flat rate envelope. First Deana the worker was giving me the stink eye and then she tried to tell me that I couldn't mail out a flat rate envelope because it wasn't perfectly flat. In fact I have gone through this before and their own policy on their website is "if it fits, it ships" and lists that only the envelope has to close normally. My package was not even that stuffed but slightly thicker than a letter. I politely explained to her I had been through this before and called USPS in the past and looked up their terms online then. It took another employee to say yes that is their policy. Then I wanted to scan my tracking number and they wouldn't let me. I said why? They said if you go print your own label at the kiosk you can scan it but they will not let you scan in a tracking number. I told them it would make it much easier for me as a customer if I could scan tracking instead of having to manually type in a number to track the package and possibly typing an error. The lady tried to correct me saying "no it doesn't make it easier. You have to type in." Went right over your head and thanks for trying to tell me what makes my life easier? Should learn your own website policies and be more friendly. More policy training and more people training. They should be listening to customers for ways to improve. Instead they have an attitude and think they're right when they are now. Tried to overcharge me on the package. I wouldn't come back to this store again, just stop somewhere else. read more

I have to start my review with stating that the US Post Office has gotten a bad rap over the past few years that isn't a fair assessment of all of the Post Offices across the Nation. I frequent our local Orange Park post office for Holidays, birthday's and when a package too large to go out via self-service requires assistance by the Clerks. I have had the pleasure of being serviced by Cynthia and Dawn during this Holiday Season. I must say, even with all of the "hurry up and send my package out to arrive tomorrow" attitudes by some, these ladies maintain their composure and keep smiling through the Holiday rush. I'm appreciative of personalities like theirs. The process requires us to work together to get the package on it's way and to it's destination (by filling out the right forms, add enough postage and make sure the contents won't leak all over other packages ;o), so to see their smiling faces and personable, professionalism aiding in accomplishing that end goal while following the strict guidelines, I just want others to know about my personal and pleasant experience. Their job is one that deals with the public at large - not an easy task to say the least, but I truly feel these women are representative of the willingness to not only do their job, but to do it well and they deliver on service in delivering our mail/packages. This has been my neighborhood post office for over 30 years. Thankfully, I've visited many others near and far. I've never experienced kind, professional, or helpful service or employees at this location. Today, they could care less about a lost package and would not help with the claim. The package was from a vacation to Hawaii so items not easy to replace and were bought with care and joy. Is there a reason personal assistance has to totally be replaced by technology? This particular package was mailed to me priority mail on Oct 8 and received on the 16th. The value worth is $30 the insurance it's $100. Written all over the package live animal. This box was abused smashed torn crumbled. Even the delivery driver said it went through a lot. Took pictures of outside and inside a box. Filed a claim the next day including 8 pictures of the priority box showing in large print Live animal. Accounts payable branch replied with the letter to submit the evidence to a post office for inspection. I did just that. Making a copy and taping it to the outside of the box. The Post Office on Kingsley in Orange Park Florida excepted the box without any hesitation. But yet 3 days later it showed up on my doorstep not even opened stating return. I then called the headquarters in Washington DC. Spoke with a gentleman (withheld) Whom stated; The post office should had filled out a form #2856 and should of handed me a damage receipt #3831. I stated this was not my first time. I have a case open still from July. And another from April they just closed. I stated Evidence, pictures and letters are being rejected because they were not aware of what you just stated. I asked DC if he was going to make a note in my file. He stated "Gave the customer information on his next step." I asked "nothing else"? DC stated "that is your next step. Do not mail it. Very rude... I have been sending my husband packages overseas and everytime I have been there I have been told about 20 different things I need to do with the forms... That I handed them to her in the wrong order and when I didn't know a part on the form I needed to fill out she made the statement " do you expect us to do everything for you" I mean try being informative instead of rude to your customers and maybe get together and on the same page about how to ship to an fpo address.
