Holy cow what a bunch of privileged white folks (yea I said it) how rude can you all be to cut in line when people are clearly in line and socially distancing. As Judge Judy says, don't pee on my feet and tell me it's raining, you were not in line, I'm not blind, I know who is in front of me. The postal employees put up with your mess all the time and should send your items to Antarctica! These postal folks here are handling things fast and have amazing during the pandemic and instead of patience you hear people asking things like "why are they closing a window". Well maybe they need a lunch Einsteinium! You eat and use the bathroom right? Give the post folks an air high five next time your in the post office because it's been a long hard year and a half for all of us!

I was very impressed w my visit to the local post office…read more I expected a line w it being the week before a major postal holiday however I was delighted to find all three registers open, being attended by jolly happy postal workers who were working efficiently & quickly as a team. They exchanged pleasantries with everyone - but it seemed different. They actually seemed to be interested in how your day was going. They even made eye contact!! They joked about splitting up stamps & having to decide which cards received which stamp, and so forth. It was a refreshing change in pace of all the holiday running, shopping, cooking & all that jazz. I will look forward to visiting the post office in our lovely new town, even during busy postal times! Enjoy!!

I come here all the time with my kids and we normally love this library. It's small and quieter…read morethan the Camden library with extra things for the kids to do and all the ladies are extremely kind and friendly. However, every time I am In front of one particular senior librarian ( I will not name her name because I like that could incite bullying) she is demeaning and crotchety. She makes the checkout process feel rushed if there's just one person behind you and got forbid you return your books in the outside book return. Her presence in the library has me choosing to go four times further to the Camden Library just because they are nicer there. It's really unfortunate but I really hope that she or her supervisor checks her attitude because I know I can't be the only one on the receiving end of it.

I decided to just go in and ask as the GPS in this area sucks! So I proceeded to ask where the post office was and then was told they close at 4:30... Is that everywhere?? Or just in this town everything closes early here! Anywho, the ladies were super sweet! They told me where I needed to go! I also needed to print off a rebate for my contact lenses I got a while back before it expired so I was able to get a pass to use the computers, no need for a library card unless you borrow any books. It cost 25 cents per page but so worth it if I'm gaining more in my rebate! They've got a pretty decent parking lot. The facility is clean and right by a water park and a playground but there were no swings. The library inside was a decent size. Very quiet and empty but what did you expect!

It's hard to miss this magnificent building that dominates the center of downtown Fernandina Beach…read more Three stories tall and looking regal, it is currently the post office though the courthouse functions have moved elsewhere. The marker reads, "Dedicated in 1912, this Italian Renaissance Revival building was designed under the direction of Treasury Department architect James Knox Taylor. The interior was custom built to accommodate the building's three original functions as a United States customs house, courthouse, and post office. The building features a symmetrical facade, uniformly-arched windows and doors with terracotta accents, second floor windows with gabled pediments, decorative balustrades, and small square windows on the top floor. Brick walls faced with stucco rise from a granite base three stories to a tiled, hipped roof with widely extending eaves supported by decorative brackets. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida met here until the creation of the Middle District in 1962. The building was then used by the Middle District until divisional judicial functions were consolidated in Jacksonville. The building is a notable feature of the city's urban landscape, and is the second tallest structure, exceeded only by the Nassau County Courthouse's clock tower. In 1973, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing resource in the Fernandina Beach Historic District." The marker was erected in 2017 by the Princess Amelia Chapter, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, and the Florida Department of State. It is marker number F-931. I did not go inside today - post offices tend to frown on exercising the Second Amendment. [Review 19324 overall - 1670 in Florida - 294 of 2023.]
