Given the current cuts DOGE went about with a chainsaw, one would expect the SSA to be off pace a great deal. Well you'd be wrong. My experience has been exemplary. They seem to have really stepped up their efforts to still provide the best service. I expected this to take time given the numbers of physicians I see, specialty care, records from more than 6 different offices or agencies trying to be precise with details. I was under no illusion this would be a fast process. I wouldn't want it to be. Decision of this magnitude deserve time so they can be thorough. Given all that, and the people there having to go in to work under pressure of threats to their very careers and livelihoods? That alone would crush the spirits of even the toughest worker, so I fully understand they are fighting a battle now, yet they dig in. I feel for every worker out here in this new environment of fire first, ask questions later. I for one could be more proud of the job they do. We're all going through a struggle, some of us more than others. It's good to have an agency within our government that is here to help make that struggle more bearable, less alone. 5 stars isn't nearly enough these days. IMHO, they are truly doing a bang up job no matter the personal outcomes. Peace folks.

A few others came and hour later and it was still quiet. While the hearing was going on, I sat in the waiting area and talked to the individual providing security. He is actually part of Homeland Security, he's not a contract business. Found that interesting. He was a great guy, passed the hour and half pretty fast chatting with him since it wasn't busy. Place is clean. There was another older gentleman on the other side of the sliding glass window answering phones. That was sort of weird actually, he was a bit loud even even with the window closed. Building is nice. Not sure it's age, tho it doesn't look old. Been well kept. Exterior shares a cobblestone drive courtyard with a high rise hotel. It's really pretty out there with all of the trees. If you come here, it's because you have to, it's not a place to recommend as it's not an elective place to attend. Tho, if you do have to come, it's a pleasant experience.

The response to shock was "I don't know this is you" This says welcome FRAUD. We all know there are bad actors in every profession. So you could create multiple versions of identities. Sent request to Doctor office, stated had to be stamped. Finally got the letter, no stamp (they don't have one) Went right back, 20-25 minutes later process completed. Birth Certificate works to get a passport (at least it did) Can you think of any reason it would not be accepted for replacement SS Card & since when? Oh! The security guards are extremely sarcastic and unprofessional, I don't know if they were former detention officers or just waiting for ICE to accept their application, but this definitely isn't the place for them. Some people they tell to throw their drinks/snacks away, others they don't; all the while the security is currently holding a Monster can himself. They have 3 guards in this room to keep the "temperatures" down, yet pick and choose which rules and who to enforce them on whenever they need a quick little boost to their ego.

I made an appointment on their website a few weeks in advance. I would highly recommend doing this so you're not stuck waiting any longer than you need to. We showed up about 20 min before the appointment and checked in using the link they either email or text you with. In total from walking in to walking out it probably took about 20 minutes. We were called up to window #5 and the gentlemen who helped me was great. He was very quick with my request but not in a rush kind of way. He was super nice while fulfilling my request. What an incredible visit to the DPS Mega Center! Yes, you're hearing me correctly, I had an awesome…read moreexperience. This center knows how to do handle crowds and their needs. There are lots of staff roaming through the waiting room answering questions and ensuring everyone has the correct paperwork filled out correctly. I was there for a renewal of my driver's license. This time around I had to take a driving test. I hadn't had a driving test for over 6 decades. The need for a driving test was due to my left leg amputation. The state had to ensure that I was safely able to control my vehicle. My number was finally called and I "scootered" back to the kiosk to meet the representative that would be helping me. Nicole, my representative, was AWESOME. She was so helpful. Nicole also administered my driving test. Troupers no longer do this. She was very through delivering instructions during my test. I had practiced my parallel parking the evening before. Heck, I hadn't paralleled parked in ages. To sum up my story, I passed my driving test with flying colors and experienced exceptional service from Nicole and all the other personnel who were so helpful.

I completed paperwork for an adjustment, mailed in November and still have not heard anything back from the office. I tried to set up a meeting for an in-person visit, but based on my responses to their questions, a in-person visit was deemed not necessary. I am a retired federal worker, and this office is a freakin joke. One representative told me that issued a penalty for 9 months because I did not sign up for Medicare. I told him, I just turned 65 two months ago, and you know I had 3 months before and 3 months after to sign up for Part B. How can you penalize someone who just turned 65. Oh, I have to talk to a supervisor. I have never seen incompetence at this level before in my life. Today, I spent an hour holding, then the phone clicked. It was 4 pm., so I guess the local branch closes at 4 pm. Freakin unbelievable the service you get these days.

I turned to the attendant and only received an apology. She then stated that it was best not to help me, even though I shouldn't have made a mistake.
