We just used ABF/Upack to move two Relocubes from our home in Columbia, MD to the ABF Service Center in Mount Vernon, WA, and the move went flawlessly. The price was the lowest and the service was superb, and we have no complaints. 1) The quote was clear and covered everything. There were no unexpected charges. 2) The cubes were delivered to our home on time by a pleasant driver. He placed them where I wanted and added some advice on packing them. 3) The delivery truck comes with a forklift that allows the driver to park conveniently and deliver the cubes to exactly where you want them. 4) The Relocubes themselves are high quality, were in good condition, and were watertight - as demonstrated by the thunderstorms that took place when they were sitting in our driveway. 5) The Relocubes were picked up in a timely fashion, by another competent and pleasant driver. 6) We tracked the move on-line as the cubes moved across the country so we were well prepared for their delivery. 7) All our belongings arrived in WA in the same condition they left MD, except one minor break that was my fault (I didn't remove a fragile bracket on an exposed piece of furniture). I do have some advice. Start your packing as soon as possible as it is very time consuming to pack your things so that they arrive safely. They are going to be riding across the country in a container on the back of a truck and the containers are going to get shifted several times between trucks. There is no way that your belongings are not going to get jarred occasionally in the process. However, we had plenty of glass items that came through fine because of our careful packing. That is why shipping this way is cheaper - you are assuming the risk for proper packing and if you are not up to the challenge consider paying the big bucks to have someone else do it for you. Leave a window of a week for the delivery. ABF was pretty efficient in getting our stuff to where it was supposed to go, but again part of them being cheaper is likely due to running full trucks that requires efficient scheduling. Our cubes sat a day or two in a couple of places waiting, I assume, for other cubes to fill up a truck going to the same destination. Leave some time before and after the specified drop-off and pick-up times as the vagaries of traffic and last-minute scheduling may get them there earlier or later than their window. Basically, UPack provides and economical service and for us they fulfilled every aspect of the contract in a competent and very pleasant manner. You get what you pay for, but if you want an air ride so your poorly packed belongings don't get damaged, go somewhere else and pay the big bucks for the privilege. Me, I would use U-Pack again with no hesitation. read more

I've used scammy long distance movers and ended up with broken things and my stuff co-mingled on an 18 wheeler with god knows what, having to count boxes off a list to make sure nothing was accidentally left on the truck. It takes HOURS and impetus is on you to make sure everything of yours is delivered. Never again! Both of my long distance moves with Upack have gone incredibly smoothly and were done for a fraction of the cost of moving other ways -- $825 (with online discount) for a move from east coast to Midwest with upack vs $4000 for a co-mingled truck or $7000 for own truck!!! Even with paying professional movers on both ends to do the actual loading/unloading is a huge savings. The Upack is much easier to deal with than PODS (moved that way once too) since they can maneuver easily with a smaller forklift (don't need an extra Street parking space behind in order to drop the container on a city street) and fits into a standard parking space. It's easy to get more containers dropped off if you need them, too. Containers are very secure and seem to be resistant to the elements. The Delivery drivers that I've interacted with (3 in total) have been courteous and kind, and delivery has always been quick and as promised. For my last move, I didn't even have to be there for the container drop offs and pick ups, which was super convenient. Given how stressful moving is, it has been much appreciated! I will always use a Upack for long distance moves from now on, it's just more secure and no worrying about movers taking forever or refusing to drop your stuff without payment, losing your stuff, etc etc etc. Thanks Upack for being a great service!!! Note: you have to be smart when packing your container, and have heavy stuff on the bottom, etc. things will shift, so if you suck at loading, hire pro movers to ensure that it's done well. Also be sure to completely fill the container all the way to the door -- jamming a mattress in last is a good way to fill that space and protect your stuff, for example. Damages happen when things shift, so don't leave a lot of empty space unless things are well secured! read more

From the beginning of our move we were in good hands. From Melissa who took the order helping me through all my questions from size of our home to, wait...we're going to have a 28' trailer parked in front of our house? To our delivery driver M. Watson taking time to explain everything to my husband about keeping things safe inside & outside the truck. They gave us all the time needed to have everything loaded. After arriving at our destination a quick call brought out our next driver who laughed when I came out to greet him, he said, I've picked these trailers up for years and never been lost, this one I got lost! And my gps was no help at all it kept telling me to go another 60 miles from here! I had to call the office a few times b/c at the time we didn't know where our new home would be, the staff always helpful & friendly. Once I called at 3:00 am expecting to get an automated message to my delight someone answered! (More surprised b/c it was thanksgiving week!) So pleased, I happily recommend UPack for the price for the people for the peace of mind! Now let me tell you a little something about the movers I hired to unload my truck. Some how after traveling from Dallas to Maryland all safe & sound this group completely... Let's just say their survey not so pretty! This method of moving was new to me, so I was a bit nervous, but everything went perfectly. I estimated that I would need 12' of the trailer (a base price which included 5' and then so much per additional foot), and that is the amount I used. As for price, I estimated that the U-Pack approach would cost me less than renting a truck and driving to Denver myself. The truck with trailer arrived right on schedule. The trailer is 9' tall inside, so much higher than a rental truck that you would drive yourself. A large ramp is provided. I was given 2 days to load it, which was adequate time to load, as I had already packed small items in boxes. There is a plywood and steel bar security wall that one installs when finished loading. It was easy to install and very secure, sealing off my property. When I was finished, I called the company and they came the next morning and drove away with the trailer. The trailer was easy to track online, and the company was always there by phone should I have a question ... very available. Seven days later, the trailer was dropped off at my new residence and left for 2 days to be unloaded. A perfect system! I was very pleased how smoothly this went and would certainly use U-Pack for any move. read more

We needed to ship a bunch of things (furniture, bicycles, exercise equipment, etc) from Florida to Maryland. It all amounted to a small freight shipment. Upack was excellent all thru the process. We made arrangements in Florida over the phone on a Sunday! They dropped off a trailer the following Monday afternoon. Got the trailer all loaded up by Wednesday and the trailer was picked up the same day. Trailer arrived at the Elkridge, MD location the following Sunday evening (we did their "Home-to-Terminal" option). Everyone was great to deal with: the folks working the call center in Arkansas, the folks that were dealt with in Florida, and a super big shout out to the folks at the Upack terminal in Elkridge, MD, at ABF Freight (efficient, cordial, easy going, and know the business). Please note we are fit, 50-somethings with our own pickup truck and SUV that we used for getting the goods from the terminal to our home (less than 10 miles from the terminal). read more

I recently moved from Maryland to California. It is one of the hustle free moves I have ever made. I called Upack on a Tuesday and they didn't need me to fill multiple forms. Just a few de. We agreed they bring the cube on a Friday and they kept their word. I packed Saturday - Tuesday because it was a long weekend (mon was a holiday). I called them on Tuesday and asked them add me one more day because it had rained throughout monday and Tuesday and so had interfered with my packing. They didn't have any problems. I called them on Wed to pick it up. They picked on Thursday and my stuff were delivered to LA on Thursday following week and were delivered to my location on Friday. Everything was so smooth I couldn't hold my joy. They had delivered 2 cubes, I only used 1 of them and they only charged me for 1. They also didn't need me to pay anything upfront, I paid after they picked it up. I highly recommend read more

We transported our household items with two Reloculbes for our move from Maryland to Honolulu. U-Pack service was five stars ***** on both ends. Customer service, management, drivers, and equipment all worked beautifully for door-to-door delivery of everything in great shape at a great price. Most impressive was the U-Pack staff. From drivers to management, everyone took personal interest in details and concerns we had. Moving is pretty darn stressful. I give a shout out in particular to Marisa, Manager in the Honolulu facility, for scrutinizing whether a challenging delivery to our front door was doable, and then making it happen with Hendrick, a very talented driver, all of which saved us from great inconvenience. Thank you U-Pack -- a great company! read more

I just wanted to let you know that your company and workers were so professional and were the absolute key to a successful move for us. We were able to schedule a delivery of the pod (on time) we packed and called and it was picked up on schedule again. It arrived -perfectly as scheduled and things could not have been any easier. Your team was professional and reliable. I had not one single worry with this move. I would recommend you to anyone and everyone who needs reliability and wants total professionalism. We discussed the move with other companies but U Pack was the most professional and helped us everyone we called on the phone. You are amazing! Thank you and YES, we will use you again! You are a 5 Star company all the way! read more

I used UPack to ship furniture and dishes from my parent's house. Many of the items moved were fragile family heirlooms. Everything came through with absolutely no damage. UPack staff were friendly and helpful, prices were reasonable, and the whole process was smooth as could be. The cubes are higher than they are wide, making for a small footprint in your driveway/street. You will need plenty of clearance for the trailers that bring the cubes as they are pretty large. I actually had my cube shipped to the depot since since I live in a dense area and the depot pick up was smooth too. All in all, a great experience and I highly recommend using UPack! read more

The entire experience was excellent. We chose the trailer space (minimum 5 ft and used a total of 6 ft) to move our daughter's household goods from MD to CA. The trailer arrived on time. Instructions for the ramp and partitions were clear. Trailer picked up on time as requested. Transit time was accurate (tracking it on line was a breeze). Trailer arrived and all contents remained secured and in the same condition as when they were packed - no damages whatsoever. Dealing with the U-Pack and ABF reps was great - professional and responsive. Overall cost was quite reasonable. read more

I recently moved across country with U-Pack. Everything about the experience was positive. The drivers on both ends, who dropped off and picked up the cube were courteous and efficient in moving it into place and also removing it! My belongings arrived within the promised time--actually earlier than I had anticipated--and everything was in good order. The price for the move was under any of the competition, which I also appreciated! I would heartily recommend U-Pack for moves. read more

Ordered one container and packed it myself. Container delivery and pick up could not have been easier or faster. The container went from MD to TX faster than the key that I mailed to the recipient. Contents were not shifted or damaged. The cost was also less than other options I looked into. Mine was a fantastic experience and I would not hesitate to use them again. read more
