Tucked behind Harper Hills Common business center close to Harris Teeter…read more The restaurant is decorated beautifully and it is very clean. They have Malaysian food and a specialty menu for khmer food. Khmer food is not knowned much in the east but its beginning to be more learned about and popular. There food is rich in flavor and there cuisine is mostly known for there use of fresh herbs, coconut milk and aromatic spice paste;known as kroeung(lemon grass paste). I decided to try some entrees from the Khmer menu. I tryed the Malaysian Roti appetizer with side curry. It is so so delicous. The curry is tasty too but a little too sweet for my taste. Main entrees I tryed was the chicken kroeung (sour lemongrass soup) and the braised pork meat on bone cooked in soy sauce( Malaysian style but Khmer people have a similar dish). The chicken kroeung is soup for the soul, filled with alot of green veggies and best eaten with white rice. The braised pork meat is great too. Cooked just right and seasoned good. Its not sweet or salty. Usually I would try braised meat in soy at other restaurants either it would be way too sweet or salty but they made theres just right. Now the Southeastern asian cooking is not for everybody or those who have only tried chinese or japanese food. If you'd like to try something different but oh sooo delicous, khmer cusine is for you!! The staff is very welcoming, friendly and informative. Food came out hot, quick and tasty(bursting of aromatic flavors). I met the owner too. He mentioned he also have a donut shop called Intown donuts and Boba tea..down the road on Jonestown Road. Will definitely dine here again and try there other menu items. Next time am going to try the donut shop before I come here since it closed earlier.

But when I ordered it the manager,Tony Tan, said the dish was actually 1/2 Roasted Duck! I went with the duck(which includes steamed rice), and added Baby Bok Choy, a nicely stir-fried dish that goes very well as a side item with a great many Asian entrees! These items made up a very nice meal. The duck is chopped into chunks with bone in, and is plated with a nice amount of rich broth, with just a hint of sweetness. The chunked up approach for the duck does result in some small pieces of bone to be picked through, in some cases fairly carefully. The picking through the bones was definitely worth it. I'm looking forward to trying additional Cambodian dishes.

Several years later and this place is still so delicious! Pretty consistent steady Winston place…read morewhere you can get any kind of Asian food. Which is why I was here . We wanted sushi and red curry and they delivered us some excellent eats. Service was awesome and the manager still always comes by to ask if everything is ok. Love that. Probably at some point will need a Reno as they have been open awhile but nothing looked bad nice busy atmosphere and lots of customers which is nice to see. We ordered a standard vodka soda from the drink menu. They have drink specials every day as well. Then we tried the sweet heat roll which was so pretty ! Delicious with all the sushi elements. Yum. Then we tried the poke bowl with ahi tuna. Wow so big! Rice, seaweed salad and lots of Veggies and a yummy soy wasabi vinaigrette. The tuna sashimi was so fresh. Then the red curry with chicken. We asked for extra Thai spicy and it was just the perfect heat. Served with white rice this was a huge portion honestly could have served 3 people. We still had a lot left over . They were also great about giving us another bowl of rice which is also a nice touch . The sauce here for this red curry is amazing. I will be back to buy it as we asked if they sell it and our server said yes . It is one of the best I've ever had. We were somewhat totally full !! Haha! Such a fun night here eating all this amazing Great food . I need to make sure I come back sooner than a few years! If your red curry fan definitely come here!

Our soups and appetizer were the absolute best thing we ate. Our entrees were okay. My husband got the beef bulgogi and it needed something. He thought the addition of chili sauce would make it ideal. He gave it a 6 out of 10. I ordered the hibachi beef bowl and it was lacking flavor. The beef was well cooked but didn't seem to have any salt, soy sauce, or anything like that. It was a 5 out of 10.

Since it was Valentine's Day and we knew many restaurants would be packed, we decided to give it a try, thinking a place like this might not be too busy. We were so wrong. It was overcrowded. Apparently, they were also offering a Valentine's Day buffet and hosting karaoke night on top of that. Because it was so crowded, tables were even set up in areas where people would normally walk through. We definitely didn't want the buffet but one of the staff members gave us a menu and told us they were also serving from their regular menu. We still considered leaving since the only available seating was at two small tables in the aisle but since we were already there, we decided to stay. It was very loud so we couldn't really ask the staff about the dishes. Not knowing what to order, we went with the combo plates. I got the Pork Sisig combo, and my husband ordered the Beef Tapa combo. The food was good overall. The flavors reminded us of a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisine which was interesting. My sisig was a bit too salty, though. The only thing we weren't big fans of was the veggie rolls. We're still curious to try some of their other dishes so we'll probably give it another shot.

Binki Cate has the potential to be a landmark for Ramen but there some work to do. First, this location seems to be a great spot but there has been like 3-5 different restaurants in the building over the last 10 years. I hope Binki stays. Ok, so I wanted Ramen but I don't think this is their wheelhouse. I think the main focus are the drinks and treats. I got the Miso chicken Raman and it was good...not great. The presentation was kinda wonky with a plastic bowl with clear wrap on top like a school lunch meal...wait...was this frozen and they just heated it up?? Hmmm...anyway the service was...functional. No one acted like they really wanted to be there. I think this spot has a lot to offer, but as with everything the experience it important.

They have a banana dessert that sounds good and I would get it in the future.

An Hibachi Combo can run from around $17 to just short of $23. Most local locations include either a salad or soup, and some include both. There is 1 that includes neither, and the combo cost is $16 or more at that spot. Here I got the Hibachi Chicken, and there was a nice amount of food. Everything was good, but not great. The portion size was fine. However, the other Japanese joint down the road gives me a bit bigger portion sizes, and I can usually squeeze two meals from one dinner combination. The inside is actually quite nice, with some seating and dated décor. I got my meal to go, and it was piping hot when I got there, and wrapped up nicely in a plastic bag. I was provided soy and duck sauce, even though I did not ask for it, as well as some napkins and a plastic fork. The gentleman behind the counter was pleasant and ensured that I got the correct order by going over my name, number, and order. I tried one of the house specials when I got my takeout; I got cheese steak spring rolls. I thought they were decent, I think they could have been filled a bit more, but the flavor was good, there was just not much in the roll itself, I can say this as one was pictured, but I got two, as I wanted to give it a real good try and see what they were all about. Like I said, the flavor was good, just a little underfilled for my taste. I had a decent experience here, but it was just okay.

We are back for another round of taste testing at our newest try!…read more Austin, our server, was hands down the best server we have had in quite some time. He was personable, polite, helpful, and professional. We had the egg rolls, the pan fried pork dumplings, cucumber salad, sesame chicken, house salads, firecracker shrimp, beef with broccoli, brown rice, and red velvet cake. Egg rolls-phenomenal. I liked the hot mustard sauce, but at the suggestion of Austin we also tried the sweet and sour and both were very good! Dumplings- not as good as the first time, but still really good! Sesame chicken- phenomenal Beef with broccoli- phenomenal Firecracker shrimp was not for me, but would be great for you if you really like shrimp in Asian cuisine typically, I like shrimp a lot but this one had a very strong seafood flavor and I wasn't very keen on that. It overpowered the rest of the flavor. It's not a breaded shrimp it's a plain shrimp with the sauces and vegetables The cucumber salad was refreshing and delicious The red velvet cake we got to go and we really enjoyed it !!
