Owner is very nice, it's a shame that they have closed. I used to go there every weekend.

The prices are okay for portions as you get a lot. A casual yet classy atmosphere. It's got a pretty big menu. There's all the favorites including curries and noodles among other things. Bad thing is there's no alcohol. They have things like iced tea. It's about $17 for a curry. These at least come with rice. I got the Panang Curry. This is made with basil leaves, bell peppers, coconut milk, keffir lime leaves, and choice of protein, including tofu. It came in a big bowl. This was more like a soup because it was pretty runny. For sure we could go here again. It's located close to the railroad tracks between Sigwalt and Northwest Highway. There's plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians.

Every entree comes with a side choice--the Tom Yum soup and chicken potstickers were both solid options. As for the mains, it was a bit of a mixed bag: Massaman Curry (Chicken): Rich, full of flavor, and absolutely essential to pair with rice. Papaya Salad: Outstanding--super refreshing with a great crunch. Pad Thai & Pad See Ew: Disappointing protein quality. The chicken in the Pad Thai was dry, and the beef in the Pad See Ew was sliced paper-thin and equally dry. Basil Duck: Surprisingly bland and lacked flavor. Overall, some highlights, but the meats and flavor consistency could definitely use some improvement.

I enjoyed a business lunch here at MingHin on a Monday (so glad they were open today, as several of…read moremy favorite Asian restaurants are closed Mondays). For starters, hot tea and sticky rice. My favorites were the shrimp dumplings and crispy shrimp rolls, but I also love a good greens in oyster sauce dish. Ordering is easy from a tablet or off the menu but unfortunately a couple things we wanted to order from the menu were no longer available. The steam baskets were removed from our table pretty quickly after they were emptied. Plenty of parking here and the restaurant wasn't too crowded yet, early on a Monday. I appreciated the sturdy chopsticks for use as well as a fork as needed, but a knife would be helpful too, for the crispy greens. I would like to return for dinner sometime and try more dim sum choices. This is a great place to go for a meeting, date night, or with a group.

I recently learned that they used premade dim-sum from the factory. Yes, A FACTORY. What they did…read morewas to preheat and serve. The servant told me about it when I mentioned to him how bad the food taste, as reminder for them to improve. I was shocked by how dumb he is to tell me the truth. Try to defend themselves? Made-by-factory does not mean it's fresh! My mouth still have this awful taste after a day. The dish I ordered is called fried sticky rice. It's supposed to be cooked from scratch. This is absolutely cheating. I have been going to this restaurant for years. Even I had been disapointed in the past, I still kept going as it's the only dim-sum place in my area. The food quality has been deteriorating over years to the point I feel that's enough. I will not go again. Some of my friends have stopped going for a while As a Cantonese who grew up with dim-sum every weekend, I do not recommend this place! This is just gross.

Find the right atmosphere, service, as well as quality food is a staple at Karavan Restaurant…read more My friend and I went and tried Karavan and we were blown alway by all the aspects of it. The food was superb! Waiting for high quality and freshly made food is worth every bite. I will say we highly recommend the eggplant salad, strawberry ginger tea, and the honey cake! The eggplant salad is perfectly cooked with a crispy exterior and what we would call a flavor bomb of a sauce! The service was great our waiter Alybek knew the entire menu and offered recommendations. We really could tell how much he loved the food as well! The ambiance was great really make us feel like we were in a different world once we entered and sat down. Overall, Karavan Restauant is worth a visit as the food, service and ambiance are unlike any other central Asian/European food in the Chicagoland area. You won't be disappointed!

We had boorsok for our appetizer, fried dough bites that reminded me of funnel cake without sugar, and there were a lot! I had the strawberry mojito drink, and it was fantastic, really tasting of fresh fruit with many mint leaves inside. The khachapuri was extraordinary. They do imeruli style, round and similar to a pizza, the crust beautifully blistered and the cheese thick with a wonderful pull. One of my friends hadn't had khachapuri before and is now a convert. We also had boso lagman, with hand-pulled noodles and beef, and big manty dumplings with flavorful meatballs inside. I requested we get a slice of honey cake, too, and that was a perfect finish to the meal. Sweet but not overkill, and really tasted like honey, graham crackers, and cream. I'm not sure when I will possibly be in this area again, but wow, I would come here again.

If you're looking for a new Asian food spot in the Chicago suburbs, Phat Phat in Schaumburg needs…read moreto be on your list. They're serving up a mix of Indonesian and Chinese flavors, and some really unique menu items We started with their Rainbow Imperial Xiao Long Bao, and this is definitely one of the most intresting things on the menu. Each color is completely different flavor, with everything from traditional Shanghai to, beef stew , truffle, spicy Szechuan, chicken curry, lemon, and orange chicken. So every dumpling gives you a completely different tasting experience. We also tried their Nasi Goreng, which is Indonesian fried rice with chicken and egg. This was savory, really flavorful, and It paired perfect with their spicy teriyaki chicken which i couldn't stop eating. But My favorite combo might have been their watermelon boba with mini chicken dumplings served right on top, this would be the perfect to go option in my opinion. And if you need something sweet, their new seasonal menu items are a must, like pumpkin and apple Halloween drink Or these little Ghost Baos, which has an apple and cinnamon filling. I honestly felt bad eating these little guys. The perfect fall combo if you ask me. Overall, Phat Phat has a great variety of Indonesian and Chinese dishes. Service was great, they were very attending to us and the inside very well lit and is perfect for your next date night! So next time you're craving asian cuisine, soup dumplings, boba, chicken, or just want to Phat Phat is the spot.

Number one on that list would be nasi goreng, also known as Indonesian fried rice. If you're into spicy food, order it extra spicy and you will not be disappointed. Same goes with the mie goreng (Indonesian fried noodles). Both are flavor-blasted comfort food. The other dishes I've had there have also been solid but a go-to is always the crispy eggplant appetizer. It's a large place so plenty of seating. They do get pretty busy on weekends but I've never had trouble getting a table. Cool vibes, good food, what more do you need! You can see from my photos that I came here with friends once and we ordered a table completely full of nasi goreng and mie goreng. XD
