The space is on the smaller side with just a few tables, so it definitely leans more toward a takeout spot. They offer a great variety of classic banh mi, along with a few pho and rice dishes, just keep in mind those options are limited since banh mi is the main focus. They also stock plenty of premade Vietnamese spring rolls, sausages, drinks and desserts. The sandwiches don't miss a beat, tasting just as good as the original Ba Le in Chicago. I love that they're expanding to the suburbs now! Will definitely be back.

It's finally open! I'm happy they decided to open a location in the Schaumburg area. The space is pretty small, so it's probably not the best place for a large party. They have some long tables and bar seating, but I get the feeling their focus is more on fast-casual dining and carryout rather than creating a sit-down dining experience. They also have a variety of hot, premade food that makes it easy to grab something and go. We started with the spring rolls, which had all the basic ingredients except for the pork. Unfortunately, the peanut sauce was too diluted and watery for my liking. I prefer my peanut sauce to be thick and creamy. I also tried the crispy chicken sandwich. The baguette was warm when I received it, and the bread itself was flaky and soft, which I enjoyed. The sandwich was decent overall, but I wasn't impressed with the chicken. It felt like they were cutting corners on the meat, and it wasn't nearly as crispy as I expected. The chicken was also lukewarm, making me think it wasn't freshly made to order. The tomato was mushy and didn't taste very fresh, and I wish they used fresh jalapeños instead of pickled ones. Don't get me wrong--I'll definitely come back. They have rice dishes, noodles, sandwiches, and plenty of small appetizers that I still want to try. I'm looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu.

Price per sandwich reached almost $10. But meat quantity shrinks. Veggies quantity shrinks too. Bread is not quite crisp.

Pho Cafe - #4. Rare Beef Pho. Good enough to hit the spot esp for food court pho. Plus generous portion!

As expected, the meat offered is fully cooked and the options offered aren't too adventurous. With that said though, the amount of noodles and meat provided is quite generous, they offer beat sprouts, jalapenos, lime, cilantro, scallion, and onion -- though I didn't find any basil in the dish. The broth wasn't the most complex, but was still surprisingly flavorful -- more so than some options outside of the mall. Service wasn't the fastest, but it didn't take unreasonably long to serve the food after ordering from the kiosk. Though not exactly the greatest Vietnamese food, the large portion size and fairly good flavor (for mall noodles) make this an option I'd get again when I'm in Woodfield.

We ordered the House Special Pho (rare beef, shank beef, tripe, beef tender, meat ball, bean sprout, onion, cilantro, scallion). This was much fresher and flavorful than I thought it would be and much better than shopping mall pho should be. The soup had a good flavor and the many beefs all tasted good. It wasn't the best pho I've ever had but it was still pretty tasty. Since this was a success, I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. I recommend Pho Cafe.

I had the spicy beef pho, and my son and the birthday girl had the non-spicy beef and chicken pho respectively. The five stars are because my wife thought it was very good! TBH - So did I and my son, but she is the pho aficionado. Go to Pho Xich Lo for some Pho! Peace!

So far I tried Mr A's across the street for breakfast and it's a hit or miss it's good on certain dishes like the pancakes but not the French toast. This is my first time trying this Vietnamese place across the street and it seems pretty clean I did try to come here but you have to come here Wednesday through Sunday and I came on a Monday or Tuesday and they were closed. Right now this is my opportunity trying them and so far it's been a quaint and ambience on the declar if they're playing soft jazz music. So far service was pretty quick. Instead of the typical traditional Vietnamese summer or spring rolls I went for the Chinese side which they had shrimp shumai which is more dim sum I just ordered one it was okay. I ordered the pho with the beef tendon and it was a meh ok. I think it could have been a little more flavorful with their pho broth but it wasn't bland either. Needs more cinnamon. What's also unique was the fact that they kept their soup spoons and their regular spoons and chopsticks in this wooden box and then another peculiarity was you had to get the condiments of basil chili pepper bean sprouts and lime up in a tray versus for them to bring it to you. The line in the basil didn't seem that fresh which is why I was a little disappointed other than that it was okay. I don't know if I would come here more often but there are other places I tried that are Vietnamese in which the pho had more flavor and was better. I probably would come here for their dim sum

We came on a Sunday night about an hour before they closed and I was surprised by how full it was! They were even seating people until the very end of the night. I was happy to see it. I also love that they play loud dance music in here. It makes it feel so fun and lively in there lol. Service is great too and everyone is friendly. I ordered taro milk tea but sadly they were out of the tapioca boba, so I got it without. It's definitely better with the tapioca. We also ordered fried pork dumplings and they were so delicious, crispy and hot. I got a small northern pho (same one I got last time) and added plenty of spice to it. It was very satisfying and flavorful. The small is huge and I couldn't finish it, but wish I could have it was so good.

We ordered and tried the following: 1) Shrimp egg rolls 2) Tofu banh bao 3) Small pho, beef broth, brisket, beef meatballs - We specifically order the pho for my girls and they both finished it without a single drop of broth left. 4) Small pho, vegan broth, tofu and mushrooms - Most Vietnamese restaurants do not have a vegan broth option. My mom is a vegetarian so this was definitely a surprise and ideal option! 5) Bun Dau Mam Tom - This can be a mess to wrap the fried tofu, steamed pork, rice noodles, and shrimp paste in lettuce. Everything went well together and the shrimp paste has a slight kick to it. 6) Soft shell crab fried rice - The soft shell crab is crunchy and came with a generous portion of fried rice. We had plenty of fried rice left. 7) Vietnamese iced coffee - My parents generally prefer the Vietnamese coffee hot however Pholicious only serves them cold. 8) Egg coffee - Rich and creamy! We did not try the banh mi but we did buy a bag of freshly baked baguettes to go. Each bag comes with three baguettes. If you buy one bag, it is $3. However, if you buy two bags, it is cheaper at $5. The baguettes held up really well for our home-made sandwiches.
