I was visiting SF and decided to check this place out. I got the roasted pork Banh Mi sandwich and the ginger salad. It's very popular lunch spot in town. I came during the lunch rush so it was about 30 minute wait for the food. I wasn't in any rush. The place was clean and had an ordering counter. Also a takeout window as well. The sandwich was huge and very tasty. The salad was delish, light and hit the spot. I would highly recommend checking this place out.
Wonderful takeout spot for lunch with authentic flavors and generous portions! I got the bun cha hanoi vermicelli bowl with added side of cha goi. It came with three pork patties in the dipping sauce. The pork had good flavor, a little dry but having it with the sauce it came in fixed it! I loved the lettuce and mint that comes in every bowl. The cha goi was a little lacking, needed more filling and was a little chewy. Will come back for their other more popular meats and banh mi!

From the airy bread to the generous helping of cilantro, carrots and jalapeños loaded with succulent grilled pork delivered. This is a no nonsense place, simple menu and fast. Definitely adding to my lunch rotation.
I tried their Bun Noodle Bowl with 5-Spice Chicken, which came with vermicelli noodles, red leaf lettuce, cucumber, bean sprouts, pickled carrot and radish, and a small tub of crushed peanuts. The chicken was skin-on, boneless thigh pieces. We also added a cha gio roll, filled with minced pork and shrimp, wood ear and shiitake mushrooms, glass noodles, peanuts, lettuce, fresh herbs, wrapped in a rice paper and served with a fish sauce-based dipping sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked, featuring a lovely charred, grilled exterior while remaining moist and very flavorsome inside. The shredded lettuce and pickled vegetables added a fresh, tangy contrast, especially when dressed with the fish sauce dipping sauce. What really stood out was the cha gio roll -- bursting with a rich, mushroom-forward flavor that was incredibly delicious. That really blew my mind especially since I love mushrooms. Overall, it was a very tasty lunch, and I would definitely order this again!

The pork had real grill flavor with a nice char, clearly marinated and made with good-quality meat (which matters more than people admit). The bowl was thoughtfully composed with fresh, crisp vegetables, silky noodles, and a balanced sauce that tied everything together without overpowering the dish. Nothing flashy--just clean flavors and solid execution. Service deserves a shout-out too. The person taking our order was genuinely kind, extremely helpful, and very polite, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming from the start. This is the kind of place you return to when you want something satisfying but not heavy--simple, dependable, and done right.
Tried their Bun Bo Nuong (marinated rib eye) and it was delicious! Thin slices, easy to bite into and break apart. None of those huge uncooked chunks that gives you a hard time chewing! These were tasty and soft. There are no places to sit, so take-out only. Beware it can get pretty busy during peak hours, but they work quickly. Will be back to try some other dishes soon!
Great bahn mi - from the crunchy and light baguette, packed with protein. Just not my style because I prefer a ton of pickled veggies balanced with my protein. The ratio was just off for me but the pork was seasoned and grilled perfectly!

The line to order was really long, so I'm glad I chose DoorDash pickup and was able to skip the wait. Everything about my dish was fresh and delicious, and I even have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. They packed in a generous amount of meat, which I definitely appreciated since some places can be a bit skimpy. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a yummy, filling, and fresh meal!
I grabbed the banh mi ribeye from Tin on Kearny for takeout and it absolutely blew me away. From the moment I unwrapped it, I knew I was in for something special. The sandwich looked incredible, with a perfectly crisp baguette packed with what had to be an inch of tender ribeye. It was heavy in the best way, and honestly just beautiful to look at. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. The ribeye was juicy and well-seasoned, and the bread had that perfect crunch without being too hard. As a meat lover, this sandwich made me very happy. If I had one small wish, it would be for a bit more sauce or pickled veggies to keep things moist in the middle. It started to feel a little dry about halfway through, but the generous amount of meat really made up for it. Just make sure you have something to drink because it's definitely a thirst-maker. The price felt really fair for the quality and portion, and my food came out quickly and was still warm when I got back to the work place. Everything was wrapped up neatly and travel-friendly. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu. If this sandwich is any indication, their entrees are going to be just as good.

The people behind the counter are so pleasant and made sure to check in with me about my online order and worked to get it done faster when they saw me standing there. It's refreshing and the pork is so delicious and full of the grilled lemongrass flavor. The vinegar sauce that is served with it is not too sharp and just deepens the flavors of the dish and ties everything together. I would absolutely eat here regularly if I lived in the area.

When you are looking for a meal in the financial district, I feel like i'm often running into a feeling of lack of choice, more so due to the larger similarity between alot of the lunch spots around here, and also just due to a range of spots that aren't bad but especially for takeout orders, kinda feels just a bit meh by the time you're seated and eating. Tin is a nice little suprise in that their food feels tasty, flavorful and not shying away from vietnamese flavors and i'm happy to have this solid Vietnamese option to add to my back pocket of spots downtown! ----------------------------------------- A takeout order feels like the intention for practically all food spots you may try to eat at during the day in the finacial district area closer to market street because for these businesses, the working traffic is not just the main demographic they target, but is the only one, noted by the fact that most places are only going to be open between 11 - 3 on weekdays only. Tin is no different, but i do like that they have a dedicated takeout window, with very nice and helpful service, constantly shuffling through the orders so your not there for more than a minute at most. And i learned this is a smaller takeout operation for their sitdown spot located elsewhere in the city I got the Bun Tom with Extra grilled shrimp and asked for the spice to be thrown right into my box. First tip, definitely get the spice. The bun tom is so light in flavor, so refreshing in the freshness of the ingredients, so tasty in the lite char on the grilled shrimp, and just overall great in the whole thing, but the added spice just really brings it together. While my order came out to $24 (including the extra cost of the added grilled shrimp) and the intiial box could make you feel like your going to be left hungry, i would hold those reservations. My go-to order: Five spice chicken banh mi, no jalapenos. Delicious take-out place that gets very busy around lunchtime. I arrived at 11:45pm and the line was out the door. Waited about 15 minutes to place my order and 10 minutes to pick up my food. Can also order pickup on DoorDash to save some time, but the online prices are about $1 more per sandwich than showing up in-person. Can add pate to any sandwich that doesn't come with pate for $2.50 extra. The pate was honestly a bit overpowering, so I don't usually get it. read more

Came around 11:25am, not sure if they have a lunch rush at noon but there were 4 people waiting for food and many orders that were ready for people who called ahead. No seating area and no bathroom. Was greeted by the cashier and seems like staff has great communication with each other! read more
Lemongrass chicken vermicelli - 3.9/5, SUPER flavorful! Lots of chicken thats well seasoned over vermicelli and some veggies. Chicken was tender. There wasn't too much lemongrass flavor unfortunately. Only issue is that it was a little too salty, my tongue started getting numb. I would like to go back and try the five spice chicken, but I'm a bit afraid of the salt. read more

Definitely one of the nicer hole-in-the-wall food spots of the area. There's no seating or tables to have your meal as dine in so take out is the only option but the food truly makes up for it. Came right before the lunch rush and ordered a Ribeye Banh Mi and Thai Milk Tea. Both were extremely flavorful and well prepared. The sandwich was fully stacked with fresh and tasty ingredients. And the thai milk tea was tasty and neutrally sweet to pair with the sandwich. Highly recommend giving this place a try when in the area. Certainly satisfied my vietnamese food craving. read more
got the vermicelli pork shoulder bowl and it was on the tough side. one of the best spots and most filling places i've had in the city. the food is always spot on and their 5 spice chicken vermicelli bowl is so so good. the chicken is so flavorful and so moist and my usual go to. i will def come back to this spot and get the chicken vermicelli bowl. hope everyone in the city can try this despite the increased prices. it's worth it compared to places around. read more
What a lucky find for me in FiDi. I initially was in disbelief that a decent banh mi would be available outside of the Tenderloin or Little Saigon in the South Bay. I didn't have high expectations because many places downtown that offer banh mi's aren't necessarily good in my opinion. We ordered the pork belly and the lemongrass pork bahn mi's and it was surprisingly delicious. The french roll was crispy, the pork belly was just a bit fatty with a slice of pate. The lemongrass pork was equally flavorful and loaded with pork. Both sandwiches were generous with meat. I noticed that the vegetables on the sandwiches were thinly sliced instead of traditionally shredded. It's pricier than most banh mi's, but for the taste and amount of meat, it was worth the $13 price tag. Other places in the area charge similar range, but does not taste as good. The house made aioli sauce was particularly nice--great flavor. The service was excellent, our sandwiches were made promptly. The only downside is that there is no inside table seating available and is takeout only. I definitely need to come and try their other menu items, but for that, I would prefer the option of inside seating to enjoy. Worth checking out of you are in the area. read more

Fast service that's friendly. I always come here for lunch during my work break. Definitely one of the more underrated banh mi in the city. I can justify its price because they LAYER that meat. And I can't have enough pâté so they satisfy that. Get their sandwiches!! Not pictured in my review is also their Tin rolls. I have never come across a spring roll like that, with bbq pork and egg? It was tasty and pretty good portion if you're looking to share with a friend. Too bad they don't have seating inside the restaurant but the ambiance is chill, basically it's big enough for groups to wait for their orders. No waiting outside in a line! They are responsive on the phone, so look into calling in your order for pickup if you need your order quick. read more

If you work or are near FiDi you have to hit this spot. Always line out the door great food and good price. You get a lot and it's great with their spicy sauce. I would highly suggest anything with Pork they load you up. read more
