They take Apple Pay. My car needed new brake pads and rotor in the rear and they charged me a reasonable amount to get my breaks fixed (about $500). They got it done and quickly. I'm glad that they are reasonable and have a quick turnaround. They explained the issue with my car. My friend also had a different car issue and they were transparent when it came to costs for her car and had her best interests in mind. read more

We came in for a tire rotation with concerns that one of the tires might be stuck. The mechanic was very professional, honest, and thorough. He quickly assessed the situation and determined that the tire was simply on very tightly--not stuck or damaged. He was able to remove it without any issue and complete the rotation efficiently. This place is fantastic. I first took my 2015 Mazda there after the dealership recommended that I get a laundry list of work done that would have cost me thousands of dollars. I didn't believe that my car actually needed everything they recommended, so I brought it to TAS for a second opinion. They told me I would probably eventually need most of the things on that list, but that only the brakes really needed to be addressed right away -- which was exactly what I suspected. On 10/31/22 I went to Tysons Auto Specialties, Richard the owner, checked everything and found out the previous shop has replaced the wrong oxygen sensor. One of the best experiences I have ever had. I am a young girl and this my first time at a mechanic. I was very nervous. I also was coming in close to closing time and was expected to be turned away (I was from other shops). Richard was very nice and so willing to help. He took my car for a drive to see what was wrong. He let me sit down while he worked and kept me updated on what he was doing. When he discovered that the issue was my oil he taught me how to check and really took care of me and my care. Honest. Honest. Honest. High quality work. I only wish they were open on weekends. Been using them for years!!! Richard is a great guy. Just the other day my wife had gone to the dealer to get an oil change on our car and they said the front and rear brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. They gave me an exorbitant quote and when I took it to Richard and his team they got it all done for almost 60% less. I realize that dealers generally over charge but that was egregious. Lost potential customer! I called this shop almost a dozen times between Nov 2018 and March 2019 to get my 2000 4Runner in for a 30K service. No one answered the phone and l left 4 voice messages. None of those were returned. I tried at all hours of business, as posted here; nada! I had the most pleasant experience at Tysons auto Specialties today. Richard was extremely helpful, he's literally like a friend that knows about cars that you could go to all the time. He's extremely trustworthy honest and willing to help with whatever issues you have. I would highly recommend anyone having car issues near the area to go to him he goes above and beyond. I didn't make an appointment and felt pretty bad about it but he was still able to see me within five minutes and I was able to work in the upstairs area while they checked on my car. So glad I gave this shop a try. I called in the early afternoon to ask about getting brake work done on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler. I spoke with Richard the owner and he couldn't be nicer. Asked me to bring it in so he could have a look. As I suspected, I needed a new caliper on the front left. He was able to handle it the same day and at a very reasonable price. I just wanted to update this review out of gratitude! We contacted Richard because our older prius ran out of juice, so we installed the battery on our own. Not sure if we even did a decent job and wanted peace of mind from an expert to ensure it was done correctly. Richard told us to bring the car over, and he had one of his team members spend a few minutes examining and said it all looked good. We offered to pay for his time and expertise, but he said it wasn't a problem and walked away before we could even give a tip. Stellar, Trustworthy, Affordable Service. Tom is a gem in this area. He offers honest automotive insight, great prices, and timely service. I referred one of my colleagues there to fix an "error" as their (now previous mechanic) removed a rubber overflow hose from the radiator causing all of the coolant fluid to dissipate. Tom had him in and fixed up with no appointment within 24hrs. My father was a mechanic and taught me a lot about cars, how to take care of them so they take care of you. I brought my 2006 Ford to Tysons Auto Specialties because of a few electrical gremlins. I couldn't figure them out, and what's more relevant is that a Ford dealer and an independent shop in the area had also failed to correctly diagnose the issue. Tom's team found the problem in the time promised, and the car is fixed. Two things stood out for me. First, I appreciated their scientific approach to the diagnosis. The technician didn't take anything for granted, from the fuse box to bench testing the components involved, and the result was the correct fix. Second, this car isn't worth a whole lot to anyone...but me. The team did a great job of keeping the price down and keeping me informed about the decision points. I fully agree with other Yelpers who've praised the team's service. I found Tom and his techs to be easy to talk to, concerned about the problem, and good listeners. I do a lot of my own work, but when I bump up against my limits in future, I'll return here. read more

Highly recommend! Definitely not one of those places you worry about taking your car in fear they will give you a list of things that need to be fixed (that really may not)! Trustworthy, courteous, helpful and nice - those are the words I'd describe Tom, the owner. I towed my car there to get diagnosed ( I arrived after hours and he happened to be coming out of the shop) he took the time to show me where the after hours drop box was, what to fill out and even showed the tow truck where to put my car. He was able to tell me what the issue was ( transmission ) and recommended a nice guy at a transmission speciality place that he trusts. Tom didn't even charge me for the diagnosis. I will definitely come back and use him going forward and recommend him for anyone in the area! read more

Richard and his team are top notch mechanics. I have two Jeep Wranglers, a 1998 with over 314,000 miles and a 2013 with over 92,000 miles. TAS has helped solve mysterious check engine P codes, air conditioner pin hole leaks, brake issues that stemmed from factory build issues, blower motor issues due to software impacts, not to mention the current heater core issues common with later model Jeeps. Things that I knew were wrong and took to other shops or to the dealership to fix without satisfactory results make me say with confidence that this shop is the best out there, bar none.
