I purchased a coupon at groupon. I thought I could use for my two cars but not. If you read well, it says synthetic blend. Synthetic oil has different numbers up to how thick or thin. You should check your cars first. They have synthetic oil too. But it's really pricy like $100. The customer service is bad and good. The one at the reception desk is not friendly at all. We booked for 2 cars but he thought 1. And he did not want to admit it. The mechanic man is really kind. He explained about synthetic oil and tire rotation well. He is respectful. He told me that he would quit explaining, if I'm not interested in those great tips. He knows car maintenances well and is proud of it. That's why he'd like to share the information with the people who care about their cars a lot but don't know how to take care about them. I really appreciated. The location is great. DISHONEST; STAY AWAY! I went to go for a regular safety inspection. They told me that I needed to get my rear rotors were worn down and needed to be replaced, which would cost $400. After several attempts to get me to fix it there and lowering the price a little, they reluctantly passed my inspection, making me feel nervous about the breaks/safety of my car. The next day, I took my car to my mechanic (Rosslyn Automotive-highly recommend), who told me that 1) I have drums not rotors and 2) they hardly ever need to be replaced. I went in for an inspection and they failed me for my front brake pads and rotors. They gave me a decent price to fix them for the parts/labor, but also tried to get me to replace my rear brake pads/rotors for an additional costs. I told them no thanks and had a couple of friends (who are mechanics and technicians) help replace my brake pads and rotors. To our surprise, the rotors were completely fine but the brake pads were bad (not failable, but getting there). We replaced the brake pads only and I got reinspected at a VA tire & auto with no hassles and passed. The conversation from the start was sketchy and I'm not surprised they tried to make an extra buck off of a seemingly non-auto expertise. read more

I always take my car for safety and emission testing to this place. At most, there is only one person in front of me. I quickly get in and out! At other places in McLean and Vienna, it could take up to 1.5 hours to deal with these testings. Additionally, these guys are kind and professional. It sort of hurts to get the word out on how efficient they are because it could slow down my ability to punch out these tests. However, they deserve the extra business. read more

This is the cleanest garage I've seen and the service is wonderful. Before any work is done, I always get a phone call with a price quote and only after everything is explained in detail do they proceed. I've gone to a number of places for price quotes and have found A&S auto to be the most reasonable. Instead of doing a bunch of work I don't need, I'm always told what is absolutely imperative and what can wait. The 2 main people working here (one Pakistani man and one Persian man) are always friendly and kind. All their work is guaranteed and you can come back within 90 days if you still experience any issues without being charged again. I was driving from Maryland to Tyson's when my tire blew out. This was the first place I saw. I asked how much it would be for a tire and they told me $125. I decided not to get it. I drove two minutes down the road to NTB where a new tire was 76$, that's including installation. I decided to get 4 new tires ! read more

I had a flat tire at 11:40AM on a Wednesday. I called A&S and they told me to bring it in at 12:00PM. I stopped by at 12 and they had it plugged and back on the road in 20 minutes. They vulcanized the tire plug (I watched them do it) so it bonds to the tire and will actually last for the remainder of the tire's lifetime. Fast service, fair price and no nonsense. read more

Went for a quick emissions inspection over lunch. Only guy in line, one person in the bay. Was told 5 min wait. Turns out the first car comes back 2 minutes after they pull my car in. Police sting operation for poor inspection practices. Only person who explained to me what was going on or apologized for the delay was one of the two cops. Meanwhile, three technicians chatted with the cops and had lunch while my car sat unattended. Once the cops departed and after a 1 hour wait, they started walking me through the safety issues with my car. When I explained I only needed emissions as I had passed my safety the prior month, they actually argued with me about what I had said. They said I had said "emissions inspection" which implies both emissions and safety, even though their own sign has separate prices for "emissions inspections" and "safety inspections". Horrible experience, and terrible customer service. Will never go there again. 90 minutes to get an emissions inspection with no one in line is ridiculous (my car passed by the way). read more

Very overpriced. They always said you need to completely replace the whole system but in fact you might just need to replace certain parts of the system, but since you sort of have asymmetric information here, you couldn't really know unless you take your car somewhere else. Also they always tell you they are trying to help you by giving the lowest quote possible, and they make no sh*t on the service, but actually they charge way more than other places nearby for the same type of work. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF BY THESE PEOPLE. read more
