My daughter's VW Bug broke down and she was towed into C&C Garage. Her car was running rough and stalling but would start back up. Their diagnosis was $640+ for plugs, coils and wires. I told them the plugs were changed last summer and their response was that they had not checked the plugs but to replace the coil and wires would cost $540 plus $106 for diagnosing the problem (the cost went up?). We refused the service and paid the $106 just to get out of there. Drove the car away and have not had a single problem since. Spoke to another mechanic and was told there was probable moisture in the fuel line since the car has been idle for three months while my daughter was at school. C&C is one of those garages that does not know how to diagnose a problem but instead replaces parts, at your cost, until the problem goes away. They had not even looked under the hood or they would have seen 5 month old parts. Oh, looked on line and a coil pack and wires cost under $100 and labor costs are estimated between $79 and $111 (about a half hour). read more

C&C Garage is the most HONEST, straightforward auto repair shop in the metro area. After visiting several garages in Northern VA, hey are my new "go-to" for any mechanical work. I recently had some steering work done at another well-liked, well-reviewed garage near Bailey's Crossroads. After several thousand dollars worth of work to correct a steering issue on my Ford F-250, they informed me more work was required - a new steering gear box. Their quote was $1300 to install a remanufactured part and $2300 for a new OEM part. I wanted a second opinion. C&C Garage took my truck for a drive and told me that the steering gear box was not necessarily needed. Imagine...a garage telling me that the work I asked for wasn't needed! Most would be more than wiling to do it and charge for it - whether needed or not. Not C&C!! I elected to change the gear box anyway. They did all the work and an alignment for approximately $1000 - with a NEW Motorcraft gearbox - saving me over $1300. I couldn't be happier. The truck drives like new. All the best mechanics want to work there for the great owners/management. People in Vienna have learned to bring their vehicles there if the dealer gives them a large price and find out if you are being gouged (common these days as dealers get desparate). I ran over a curb in May and damaged a panel under the rear door. In this day and age, it is difficult to find an honest and competent auto repair shop. I have used C&C Garage for over 8 years for both of my cars. I have found them to be honest, reasonably-priced, easy to work with, and very competent. A recent event just underscored how downright trustworthy they are. I went to a nearby tire retailer for an oil change and walked out with a recommendation that nearly $4K in repairs should be done. Well, no one does major repairs on my cars other than C&C Garage. So I brought my car in and was shocked to learn that none (yes, none) of the recommended repairs were needed! C&C Garage could have very easily confirmed some or all of the repairs, pocketed the money, and I wouldn't have known anything was up. Instead, they charged me $50 for their time and saved me from a total fraud -- $4K in bogus repairs. In my book, it doesn't get better than this! read more

This place saved my life -- I mean, my wallet; that and my car. After having spent almost $1000 on my 11-year-old Mustang at two other places, C&C fixed it for only $140. I had taken my car in to NTB in McLean because the engine light was on. They charged $760 and told me there were two items they didn't fix because they weren't sure if those (canister and canister valve) were the problem and they wanted to save me some money. They said if my light went back on they would fix my car and not charge for labor. Three days later, my light went back on. I called them and they said "oh we just wanted to save you some money. If you come back we won't charge you for the labor and only the parts -- about $400." I was pretty frustrated because that meant I had spent $760 probably for nothing. I took my car to Fitz Mall in North Bethesda where I had purchased it and after a diagnosis they told me it was the gas cap that was wrong. Because NTB had just replaced my cap I told them it wasn't the gas cap but probably the canister. Those people were most likely dishonest and said they'd look at it again and get back to me. The next day they called and said yes it was the canister and they could fix it for $500. By that point I figured I might as well take it back to NTB. However I remembered a friend had recommended C&C to me, and because it was on my way to work I stopped by Vienna. The next morning I got my car back, along with a $140 bill. No dysfunctional canister, just a faulty gas cap -- that NTB had just replaced 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure if they really missed something at the diagnosis or intentionally wanted to rip me off by putting a faulty gas cap and telling me my canister had to be fixed (so I'd have to pay more). More infuriatingly, Fitz also went along when I told them it was probably the canister and took back their diagnostic result (cap) and wanted to charge me for the canister that was in fact perfectly functioning. When I dropped my car off at C&C I also informed them it was the canister and valve that needed repair, however I got a call back a few hours later and they told me it was just the cap. When I returned the next day I was fully prepared to spend a quarter of my monthly paycheck on the repair, but was almost speechless and only overjoyed to see the bill came out with only a $140 charge. After this experience I'm definitely only going to C&C for my repair now. Only complaint: there's no car rental place within walking distance. This week I had to call Enterprise and have them meet me at C&C for a rental car. read more

They were able to diagnose and fix an electrical problem on my SUV that the dealership had misdiagnosed and proposed a repair of thousands of dollars for parts I didn't need. Nice work! I can't recommend the guys at C & C Garage enough: they are fantastic and have saved myself and my car (an older VW GTI) quite a few times. While they are not cheap, they are convenient- and time is money, as the saying goes. They are located in what I would consider downtown Vienna, right by the W & OD Trail, so- if push comes to shove, one can walk or run here (speaking from experience). The techs I have come into contact with are always friendly, and Scott, Joe & John have all personally called me while my car was in the shop to keep me informed of the price estimate, as well as promptly calling me when the car is ready. My car was making a metallic scraping noise for the past few weeks. I chose this place based on the Yelp reviews. I called to make an appointment - the place was booked for the week I wanted so I made it for the following week. Similar to another Yelp review, I'd echo that if the place is booked it means they have a lot of business. The gentleman on the phone was very courteous and accommodating. I brought my car in this morning a little after opening time. I asked if I could wait in the lobby since I wasn't able to drive in to work. Since I was waiting, the front desk gentleman asked one of the technicians if he could prioritize my car. The technician looked over my car, explained what needed to be done and gave me a quote. The quote for the work was more than reasonable so I gave the go ahead. I was in and out of the shop in 3 hours. Given my prior experiences with other garages, I would have to say C&C is in another ballpark with customer service, quality of work, and value. The people are friendly and trustworthy. As a female with limited knowledge of cars, I did not feel like I was being taken advantage. I will only be bringing my car to C&C from now on. I have been taking my Jeep to C&C Garage, probably for about five years. They consistently exceed my expectations in all areas from quality service and competitive pricing. C & C garage offers honest estimates and will define what needs to be done so someone with no mechanic experience can understand. There are times when I need to have several repairs done to my car. I work personally with Scott and he will break it down for me, which repairs I can wait on, which repairs are more immediate and so forth so its not a huge big hit to my credit card all at once. I cant say enough positive things about this shop but that I wish they did have more hours. But I will work around C&C's schedule even if I live 30 minutes away, because I know that I will truly get quality repairs and service. read more

I recently paid to have my car towed 31mi from Laurel, MD to C&C Garage, when it broke down on the highway on my way to Baltimore. If that doesn't tell you how much I trust them with my car, I don't know what will. I'd rather spend the $100 in towing fees to ensure whatever problem I had was taken care of properly and honestly than take it to a local mechanic who may or may not be reputable. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it within two days. My only issue with them lately is that I call about service and they rarely have any same-week appointments. "We don't have any way to print them, as he gestured around the empty counter." How about a hand-written estimate? Their policy is in violation of the Consumer Protection Act, and county regulations, which require posting of the consumer rights in a conspicuous place. Nothing was posted. Thanks to the yelp reviews, I was able to find this hidden gem in a nondescript (AKA sketchy area in.. Vienna...) I called ahead to see if they could fit in both a safety and an emissions inspection and they said sure. I drove my car in and literally, I was in and out in about 10 minutes. No complaints about the online coupon from their website either - they took 50% off one of the inspections. They were (car) courteous (which isn't like Starbucks barista nice - they're men, they won't punch you in the face nice :-). I've never done business with C&C until this happened. I had set up an appointment to drop off my car with C&C Garage on a Sunday evening for early service Monday morning because of a failing alternator. It ended up being worse than I thought and the battery died, marooning the car in Springfield on a Thursday evening. I called C&C Friday morning for their recommended tow company so I could get it taken to their shop and Fairfax Towing picked it up and dropped it off the same morning (I'll be giving them a good review too!). C&C ended up replacing the alternator for a more-than-fair price that very day and I had my car back the same evening.
