The gentleman I spoke with (Steve) was my POC and he took care of me and my car; answered every question (which was many) with almost a level of excitement to talk about the details of car mechanics. He taught me a lot and combed through the extensive mechanical analysis the shop did; guiding me on what are the "must fix now,""nice to have," "what can be postponed," and "what's completely unnecessary." They have a keen attention to detail. Amenities: 10/10 The free coffee is really, really good. There's a table with free bags of chips and books. The owner even has free copies of his book about being an entrepreneur which I was excited to take. The lounge is cozy. I was in there for a few hours doing work on my machine. The ambience and internet speeds were excellent. Had issues with starting the car. Sometimes it wouldn't start. Sometimes not. I do not want to get stranded somewhere with a broken down car. I looked online to research what issues it could be. Starter? Fuse? Easy to repair? Take to shop? I was stressing. Battery "shouldn't" be an issue cause I got a new one a year ago from the dealer. So what was it? So this morning (Saturday) I took the car at 8am to see if Matt Curry's Craftsman Auto Care could fit me in. Initially, the service said I would have to leave it and they would shuttle me home. I understood and didn't expect preferential treatment cause I have been a loyal and repeat customer. What I didn't expect was that Ray told me he would have a tech look at the battery quickly and if it wasn't then I would have to leave it. It took 2 mins and they told me it was a loose terminal connection with the battery & they tightened it and sent me on my way. No charge. Again, I totally expected to pay for a diagnostic charge and was okay with it. But Ray chuckled and said all they did was tighten the loose connection. That is customer service. Other places would have have charged me and I would have been fine with it. But this act demonstated that they want me as a customer for life. And they got me for life. Brought in vehicle that was having some inconsistent transmission issues when accelerating and asked them to take a look along with an overall health assessment of the vehicle. They reported being unable to duplicate the issue so then mentioned having to hook up the computer and there would be a special charge for that. I asked what if the computer didn't tell them anything and they said "it always finds something" - so I agreed. At the end of the day there was a $300 charge for a diagnostic that was inconclusive and a waste of time and money. Everyone there was certainly nice, but any place that can charge that much for basically connecting to the OBD port and reading what the computer tells them - is not a company I would trust with any of my vehicles. So for that, I guess it wasn't entirely a waste of money. read more

I found Craftsman Auto Care today after a quick review of local service shops that are open after 5 PM. My daughter was working in the area and said that the oil light had come on in her car. I urged her to stop ant Craftsman after work because I was worried that there might be an oil leak. I met Ray and he was so welcoming and professional. Since the change in ownership in 2021 or '22, repair quantity has tanked. My husband took his Cadillac there to have the steering column fixed. They broke a piece off the column that is very expensive to fix and glued pieces back together with construction adhesive. We will now have to continually repair something their mechanics broke. I brought my camaro in here early this morning for a state inspection. This place was one of the few places that was open on Saturday, and they didn't have a huge line of cars waiting to be inspected. While I was waiting for a short time, I noticed that they had a promotion going in for tire rotation and wheel balancing. I figured that it would be a good idea to get as much done as apI could now, so I wouldn't have to make time to do t later. Besides that, I've always been a fan of maintaining my car- especially this one! When my turn came to pull into the inspection bay, I was treated very nicely by the mechanic, and he explained to me the entire process. To eye then shifted my car into another location to complete the tire rotation and balancing. The entire process was easy and painless!
