He started by down grading the insurance adjuster and the company who gave us a quote before him. We thought that was very unprofessional. He seemed like he was trying to pressure us to make a decision right then. When he was droning on about financing my wife as well as myself told him we didn't need to discuss this at that time he continued on as if it didn't matter what we said. All we needed was an estimate at that time. He said he really couldn't without talking to us in person. When we cancelled the appointment about the estimate he all of sudden could get an estimate together and email one. This one person is keeping us away from knowing if this is a decent business or not. We are done.

Ah, where to begin and what stars to give?  A few years ago, we went to CL-USA Waterloo.  They did…read moreour living room.  No problems.  Looked great.  So when our stairs needed re-carpeting, we returned.  This time our experience was a total sh@* show.  It became almost funny.  We picked out carpet and scheduled a measure.  Waited around most of the day and no one shows.  Email the salesman twice and finally call the store - nice lady takes a message.  Salesman calls back next day - says measuring guy tried to call twice.... Yet I had no missed calls, VMs or texts. He did get my emails.  He asks me to measure and send a photo.  Says we don't need a measure and he'll go off what I emailed.  Next day, the measuring guys calls and says he's on his way out.  Told him that the salesman said measure not needed.  He says his boss wants a measure.  Ok, fine.  Good to go - finally have an install date.  Guess what?  No one shows up.  Call the store again.  Same nice lady says it was on the schedule but not sent to the install people.  Salesman called back and did apologize many times.  Says the manager will call next day to reschedule install - next day, no manager call.  Call the store again.... Salesman apologizes again... says must have been some miscommunication.  Yea think?  Finally, install day comes and the guy shows!  But he has to come back tomorrow because he doesn't have his "stair tool." Did I mention this was a stairway install?  Anyhow, he shows next day and the final job looks great.  I just don't know... just don't know.  Oh, salesman said he'd sent a gift card for our patience.  That never arrived either. Luckily, I'm recently retired so I was home for all these appointments. If I had taken time off work... bad.  So draw your own conclusions. Would I have them do another job? Probably.... with all the heartburn and miscommunications, the final product looks lovely.

They made sure to work around any needs we had. They can basically do all projects (big or small). So we politely left, once we walked out another customer was able to walk in and was not told to leave. After sending my initial inquiry by e-mail, I received a phone call back from Mike within the hour. He was friendly and professional, and was able to schedule our inspection for a date that was only 4 days away from the date that I contacted him. Setting up the inspection was incredibly simple, and I really liked that all the pricing was clearly laid out on the website, so there were no surprises when he sent me the invoice. The inspection itself was extremely thorough, and the report was well-organized with all issues categorized by level of severity and accompanied by digital photos that clearly demonstrate exactly what was going on. Despite including an impressive level of detail, Mike had the report in my inbox within hours of leaving the property. To top it all off, 5 days later I checked my mail and was surprised to find a thank you card from Mike, letting me know that he appreciated our business and hoped we were happy with his service. Also, they may not be a good choice if you know or reasonably suspect you have lead-based paint. They don't understand, or don't care about, the connection between exposure to lead dust (e.g. from home renovation) and brain damage to children under age 6 and fetuses (through a pregnant woman's exposure to lead dust). The outermost coat of paint on your walls, or on wood siding that might be underneath vinyl siding, might not be lead-based. But there are often older layers of lead-based paint on these surfaces. If you cut into the house to widen a window opening without wetting down the area first (or at least putting up a plastic containment area inside the house) you will definitely generate dust from that paint, even if it doesn't look like much.
