We hired 2 Men and a Truck to move furniture from our home into a storage unit. The pieces of furniture were large, so we did not have them move any boxes or small items. It was going to be close, but they managed to fit it all in the truck and into the storage unit. The way they stacked everything proves they are Tetris masters. They wrapped everything, friendly, and efficient. This is not the first time we have used them and we will continue to use them. I have never had a single issue with their service or their staff. If you need movers or help moving big items, I highly recommend them. read more

Two Men and a Truck helped move our home and Business. They were detailed, very kind and understanding. Nothing was damaged during the difficult process of moving between multiple different locations to drop off items in storage. We want to give specific shout outs to Kim, the kind woman who helps schedule the services for being so incredible during the move. Also shout outs of course to KJ and his entire team of movers for being professional, fast and ready to do whatever is needed to help us. We have heard that their prices are a little more than other companies, but the work ethic and details easily make it worth it! We highly recommend them for any move you may have, we felt covered the entire process! Thank you guys for all of your hard work! read more

The drivers I had were friendly and efficient got the job done will request those two for next move

DO NOT HIRE THEM They did provide me movers to load my truck when my other movers ghosted me BUT... It was a nightmare. Inept team was getting conflicting direction from the office and continued confusion throughout the load. It took 45 minutes for one of them to wrap a TV... then he gave a second TV to us and said he couldn't wrap it and we would have to carry it in the car. Upcharged us for boxes and blankets we didn't order or use. My furniture was damaged and badly scratched and gouged... decor was broken and containers were crushed. They were dishonest about the cost and my final bill for a job quoted at the $350-$600 range was almost triple that cost. I called and complained and the manager said that he would get back to me.... cricket. DON'T HIRE THEM. read more

The two guys arrived on time. They were very efficient and considerate in prepping my furniture (wrapping in plastic and padding) to protect the finishes. Both guys were polite and careful about not damaging walls, carpet, floors, etc. I used Two Men and a Truck about 42 years ago and they provided the same great service back in 1983. I would highly recommend them and will definitely call them first with my next move, read more

I've never met a more dishonest Company!! This is NOT the 2 men & Truck I hired 18 years ago. Broke my Bed frame by trying to move the bed without removing headboard and mattresses! Damaged a new wall. Overcharged for fuel and one of the 2 men was having withdrawals by profusely sweating all over my furniture to a point he had the sit down for awhile. They weren't answering their phone so I blocked my number before I called this last time and when they answered I let the girl know I needed to speak to the manager. The movers were the best. They wrapped furniture securely, were very quick and efficient. They made the move so much easier than previous moves I have made. Thank you to the guys who completed my move! read more

The entire team was very professional and did a wonderful job. It was a unique job with a number of challenges--to remove a large glass kiln from a wooden shipping crate in our garage and take it into the house and down a basement. They showed extreme care for our home and our new kiln. We were very pleased! read more

DO NOT use this company to make your move! They lost or stole my $1000 computer and second monitor. Management and administrative staff have completely failed to investigate or take action to locate my missing items. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTING! The first day Two Men & A Truck arrived to box up for my move there was absolutely no leadership. I showed all six young men what I wanted to be done, but no one identified themselves as a leader of the packing. This was immediately evident when I almost stepped on a large tack (for leveling my night table) that had been left in the doorway of my bedroom. I asked the person who was packing a bathroom what this was doing on the carpet and why it wasn't with the night table he claimed he was, "not responsible, not my problem, I had nothing to do with it, don't know!" Finally, two of the other men arrived and said they'd put the item in the tool kit so when they arrived at the new location they'd have it. Did they use it and replace it? Well, the next paragraphs we tell you. I asked them to get to my new location on the second day by 2:30 PM. Before they started on the 2nd day I asked to identify a leader so I could show him what I wanted. This made it easier for me to determine who to speak to. Although it didn't necessarily help with the results. At 3:15 the crew finally arrived at my condo, leaving me only 15 minutes to explain where I wanted things. It probably wouldn't have mattered since over half the boxes had no labeling and there was no way to know which boxes went into which rooms. I'm still unable to locate measuring cups, frying pans, coffee cups, and tin foil because they didn't identify what's in the boxes. I found coffee cups in picture boxes. Most of the packing seemed random as if they didn't know where to put things so they just simply packed it into a box and thus, why label it - It didn't fit anywhere anyway! Because my basement wasn't finished, we agreed to load my remaining office, son's bedroom, and entertainment room furniture in my garage which my contractor had cleaned out the day before. This turned into a disaster due to 2 Men and a Truck's disorganization. Again Still haven't found measuring cups, coffee cups, and kitchen items. I hope they're somewhere in the garage in an unmarked box. read more

In 2022 they broke so much! Sent 3 people but two were skinny kids who could not do the heavy lifting! The other guy walked around with his computer pad! MOVING OUT 1. BROKE THE bottom resting stand on a two piece armoire 2. Dropped the top of armoire and one corner was cracked. 3. Broke one leg of a casual chair. 4. Drug a king mattress on the asphalt 5. 5. Drug / tore corner of a Queen base 6. Damaged our new refrigerator because these kids ( not trained) could not figure out how to move a new refrigerator ( thru the same door that Menards movers moved it in)! Ice maker and door and seal were damaged! Damaged door frame! 7. Damaged ceiling second floor, damaged stair rail and steps in two areas moving a queen bed base. MOVING IN 1. Damaged door frames, scratched corners, walls! I could go on! THE INSURANCE APPARENTLY DID NOT EXIST! NOT INSURED! Thought we had it / paid for it! But when it came time to file a claim - they REFUSED to give us the info we needed to file a claim. Again the third guy who walked around with his computer tablet said the insurance would cover any damages! But NO! We were Treated poorly by them! Just make sure you ask for proof of insurance, get the paperwork before they come out and read it! FINALLY, we made reservations months ahead because we are planners! They knew what we had! They Sent two kids untrained, inexperienced kids to do grown men work! The kids pooped out after moving a few things! Did not realized the extent of damage moving out until the next few days while getting things in order! read more

Very polite, efficient and excellent communication from the office staff to the movers. They were able to move my belongings and dispose of furniture no longer needed. Finished in less time than anticipated so paid less than the quote. Highly recommend. read more

I'd like to start by saying that the two movers who moved my belongings were quick and efficient. BUT the company is a GIANT RIP OFF. They called me at 8:40am to say they were on their way. They did not arrive until 9:20-9:25am. The time clock for their hourly fee STARTS WHEN THEY CALL YOU. I effectively paid almost $200 ($150 for the hourly fee + a $40 travel fee). I paid $190 before they even moved a piece of furniture or arrived on site. When I called to set up I was told they charge $150/hour for two guys. At no time did anyone say the clock starts for the hourly fee when they call to say they are on their way. Further, they sent me an email estimate--no where in any written correspondence that I received from this company does it state that the time clock for the $150 begins when they start driving to my location. This is an extreme case of poor communication and the very definition of HIDDEN FEES. How is it right for them to charge their rate of $150 for moving when they are not at my location and have not moved a thing. Further, they charge a $40 travel fee--so you charge your hourly rate and a travel fee before you've arrived on site? Ridiculous and a waste of money. Please choose any other company. Finally, I'd just like to say it took these two guys less than 2 hours to load my truck. They arrived around 9:25 (actually started moving items at 9:38am) and completed filling the truck at 11:10am). I should have paid $300 (plus $40 travel fee). Instead I paid over $500. When I called the company to ask about the charge for the travel time I was told how I came in way under estimate and that they "removed" the insurance so I saved money. They did not remove the insurance, because I did not load onto one of their trucks I did not have to pay for insurance--nice try. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

The three men did a fantastic job last Saturday, June 17th, 2023! It was a very warm day, but they kept working through the heat!! Nothing was damaged. Great guys to help with our move from West Liberty to WDM. Thanks so much! We appreciate your help moving!! Mary and Jim read more

Great company, easy to work with and is a huge asset to our community. I strongly recommend them for all of your moving needs.

Probably the worst run company on the planet. They hire morons for employees. The employees complain the whole time, take way longer than they should and treat your furniture like it was trash. Then they overcharge you. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

We had them moved our home 3 times and there was damage every time. They wouldn't return our calls and they wouldn't work with us to do repairs. Not happy. Furniture was damaged, walls and carpet were damaged. Most happened the last and most important move. They were also sketchy with hours and definitely overcharged. One guy sat a lot and didn't help much. Will never use them again. Don't trust them to handle damage claims promptly or fairly read more

I have to be honest, I was sorely disappointed with the service that I received. In my initial email I was told that the movers would arrive from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. They did not arrive at my First address until 11:15 AM, after multiple calls to them and to the main office. When I finally reached the driver (after being sent to voicemail, twice) he said he would be there within 15 minutes. This turned out to be untrue and he ended up being, in total, 45 minutes late. I thought this should be a speedy move, given I only needed a few items relocated. Their tardiness made me miss a follow up appointment for my oral surgery but luckily we are family friends with the surgeon and I was able to bump it to later this afternoon. While they were quick in the removal of my items from the first property to the next, I still found the service disappointing. While very gracious and apologetic they did have a lack of sincerity in their exchanges with me. The movers finally wrapped up just before 12:45 PM, when filling out the paperwork, they had no recollection of when they initially got to my first place and when they had arrived at my new home. I kindly had to remind them of their arrival and departure times. I thought this was something they would be diligent about keeping track of since they are paid in 15 minute increments of their time. Additionally, they were struggling with the math of the cost of my move and I had to offer assistance and a calculator to help them complete their work. I was also astounded that I had to remind them to remove my coffee table from the truck before leaving. I thought it wouldn't be too difficult to remember since I only had 7 items moved. After that they had the gall to ask if I wanted to tip them for their services... From the initial email being addressed as Angie instead of my given name, to the occurrences during my move, I can't say I'm throughly impressed. The intent of hiring two men and a truck was to make my recovery from oral surgery and my transition from one home to the next, much easier. It felt much more burdensome than helpful to me. When I called to tell the office about my poor service, my call was sent to voicemail three times when I finally spoke to a person they said a manager would call me back and they have yet to do so... I would NOT recommend two men and a truck under any circumstances. They were sloppy, unorganized and unprofessional. read more

James and team did a great job moving and protecting our belongings. I would recommend them to anyone that's thinking about hiring movers.

I wish I would have read the other reviews first. I had 2 sets of movers. The first did a decent job and were nice but one smelled as though he had gone to the bathroom in his pants and that smell lingered throughout my home. The other talked so much that the move took significantly longer than needed and I was helping so we could get done. The second set of movers were equally as nice but complained about the company the entire time. Then a manager showed up so the rest of the move was very awkward. The move took so much longer overall than planned and there was no communication from the office to the movers. Multiple items were damaged during both moves. They charge significantly more ($25 and hour) than other companies! read more

We moved February 4, 2015 and used Two Men and Truck after a positive recommendation from a friend. We had three men due to a piano that also. Needed to be moved. We were disappointed with this company on 16th Ave SW. Whatever you do, don't use them! There are so many good companies out there that will do a good job for you! They broke 2 pieces of furniture (major pieces) and we have yet to receive any reimbursement and that was on August 1st and it is now Sept 15th! They used wardrobe boxes for the clothes and threw all the clothes in the bottom of them and of course when we opened them at our destination they were all wrinkled! You don't need that on top of moving. We are in our 80's and it was a terrible experience for us. read more

We hired 2 Men and a Truck for our move, and could not be happier with exceptional service and how hard they worked!!! They went above and beyond for us. Customer service Plus!!! The crew recently helped my 87-year-old mother-in-law in taking away an old washer and dryer. Not thrilled. We had 2 guys show up to move me complaining that it was supposed to be their day off. Then, they came without tools to help take apart my bed frame. They took way longer than estimated and felt like they took breaks between every item. Moving these items up to the 3rd floor took my other movers only 1 hour. taking it down took 2 men in a truck 2 hours. not impressed. over priced and not pleasant people. we have called day in and day out trying to speak with manager and nobody answers. pathetic way to own a business. don't use cedar rapids location for your moving services. oh and my couches are ripped so that's nice too! totally unhappy with the service and will NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

We have been so lucky to have Two Men and a Truck help us with a large event we have each year. This year, as in years past, they knocked it out of the park. We have nothing but great things to say about them and would hire them again and again! read more

I've had three bad experiences with these guys -- only the first was my choice. They do not respect your belongings. Arrive late leave early and leave things undone. I caught one reading the titles of my books as he leisurely packed them without even paying attention to sizes. They did not label all boxes and those they did were marked where the label could be seen. Items from one room were jammed into boxes for other rooms. Chaos! read more

Worst movers ever. They damaged every single piece of wood furniture (scratches) and piled boxes haphazardly. Many boxes were crushed. The packers commented on my expensive handbags - totally inappropriate. They needed only 2 but sent 3 movers - so one guy ended up standing around much of the time. Very expensive. read more

I'm astonished! I have been a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". But Two Men and a Truck was so much more affordable than other movers in my area, I thought I'd take the risk. Not only did the final bill come in below the estimate, but they were efficient, polite, helpful and accommodating. Everything arrived just like it was when I left it in the old house, and the service was outstanding. I hope to never move again - but if I do, I'll call them! read more

I had a good experience with them when I used them to move. They are kind of expensive but then again all movers are. Very happy with the entire experience with TMaaT. The day after a 100 year snow storm...facing sub zero wind chills the next morning the three man crew showed up early & bright-eyed; eager to tackle this 2nd story move. Everything went very smooth and I appreciate all their hard work and help. From the initial contact, the in-office estimate, and very reasonable pricing from supplies to service all was excellent. They took great care when moving delicate items by wrapping them as to not be damaged. Hiring a third person vs. 2, or however many is highly recommended. 1) It cuts down on the fatigue factor where injuries could occur; this is NOT an easy job 2) The time saved/cost benefit is pretty much a wash. They also provide the customer with very specific instructions a 4th grader should understand. So, if are unable to locate items it is more than likely your own irresponsible fault. Be well prepared and stay out the way. Clearly label your boxes and what room you would like them. read more
