I wasn't going to leave a review because it's not in my nature to publicly criticize a business…read more But after everything that happened, and after discovering even more damage today - 6 to 7 months later...while moving my kids' beds, I don't want another family to go through what we did.
I've moved multiple times over the years and have hired many moving companies. This was, without question, the worst experience I've ever had.
Here's what happened:
* My adjustable bed frame was damaged beyond use because the support beam was snapped in half.
* The glass on my bedside table was shattered.
* My brand-new baby's crib was forced through a doorway instead of being properly disassembled, resulting in damaged paint, gouges, and scraped walls throughout my home.
* They stripped the crib screws because they apparently used power tools where they shouldn't have, making it difficult to properly take apart afterward. I had to figure out how to dissemble it and re-do it because they couldn't figure it out. Left it in the middle of my house...
* They couldn't complete the move correctly and had to come back the next day to finish up--and I was charged for that return visit.
* They removed a door from its hinges and left it leaning against the wall instead of reinstalling it. My four-year-old daughter had it fall on her head, leaving her with a large goose egg. It was a heavy door and thankfully, it was not worse than the goose egg.
I understand that minor scratches and dings can happen during a move. As a matter of fact, it's expected. That's not what this review is about. It's about the complete lack of professionalism, care, competence, and financial accountability.
The final straw came today. 7 months later, When I moved my kids' beds, I discovered they had reassembled both of them so poorly that it looked like a child had put it together. The slates and the entire bedframe was not adequately supporting the bed. It is just dangerous...That's what prompted me to finally write this review.
I filed a damage claim totaling approximately $2,500. Their response? An offer of just over $400. What will that even fix? They refused to meaningfully discuss or negotiate the amount unless I first signed a release that would have limited my ability to publicly discuss my experience.
To me, that demonstrated not only a lack of accountability for the damage they caused, but also a lack of financial accountability for making their customer whole.
I declined, filed a complaint with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, and decided to share what happened instead.
My advice: Read your contract carefully before hiring this company. Don't rely solely on online ratings. Based on my experience, the 4.9-star rating does not reflect the level of service, professionalism, or accountability we received.
I sincerely hope no other family has to deal with damaged property, unnecessary expenses, preventable safety hazards involving their child, and a company unwilling to take appropriate responsibility for the consequences of its own work.
DO NOT HIRE.
