Tasted like wax with a whisper of butterscotch. It had a weird oiliness to it as well. My sister ordered a medium choc/vanilla butterscotch cone and hers came out more promising being thicker and darker but the flavor just wasn't there. The ice cream as well just tasted like ice. Twistee Treat is honestly the go-to spot in Riverview. Solid ice cream, it's very light and not super heavy. The price is much more appealing compared to places nearby. I go almost once a week and I get the small chocolate twirl with Oreos and M&M's. The small size is massive and feels like a pint of ice cream. The service is always good. Drive thru might be filled with many cars but they're very quick and I don't spend more than 5-10 minutes max in line. The outside eating area is also usually pretty clean. Plenty of tables and benches to eat at. Sometimes it can get pretty busy on weekends but it's cool for a date night or a visit with family. read more

After discovering Twistee Treat one finally opened closer to my home! I'm not sure if that's a good thing because I may be there way to often! This ice cream is delicious and I always get the chocolate and peanut butter side by side. This time I changed and tried strawberry and vanilla side by side. I have to say this ice cream is so creamy and delicious! If you haven't tried this ice cream, you must! They have a drive thru so you don't even need to get out of your car. They make it dangerously convenient!!!! There are tables with umbrellas to sit at and enjoy your ice cream. I found that this location as with all the other locations I've been to are staffed with teenagers. I have to say I've never had a single problem with them at any location. With that being said, I've actually found the teens I've dealt with to be respectful and polite. read more

Long time customer here since day #1. We went a few days ago and we ordered 2 large cups soft-serve ice and when we got them at the window, they were 1/2 full. Always friendly and fast. Love coming here for the positive crew. Even when slammed and in the heat of COVID they did their best to provide a great experience. Reviews that claim issues are pretty clearly problem people. They're the ones with the complaint over the 100+ instructions at Starbucks and looking to speak to the manager to get a deal. Don't listen to the dumb-dumbs, this place is great! When the drive thru line gets long they snap to action to assist outside and inside. They always offer friendly advice like "that's a lot on a fine, can I offer you a cup so it doesn't spill?" I greatly appreciate it. An Ice Cream establishment shaped like an giant ice cream cone; I noticed this months ago after running to the grocery store. Due to my brother's healthy habits, we did not go there. Somehow when more family and my parents are visiting; and maybe a little arm twisting....my brother agreed to go.  Glad he finally came around. There were a lot of choices and specials.  The ice cream is soft serve. Twistee makes their own waffle cone bowls which was a nice treat.  We ordered a brownie boat sundae, a caramel apple sundae, a pumpkin sundae, and a peanut butter shake. The peanut butter shake tasted like peanut butter - real peanut butter; not artificially flavoring. The sundaes were a big hit. The Caramel Apple Sundae tasted just like the Caramel apple suckers - green apple ice cream with hot caramel sauce and cinnamon pieces on the top with whipped cream in their homemade waffle bowl.  It was a perfect balance of sweet and sour.  The ice cream was green which initially was startling as I think pistachio (which is good but not with caramel apple on the mind).   The Pumpkin Pie Sundae was enjoyed as well - a nice balance of pumpkin spice and sweet pumpkin flavored soft serve.  The Brownie Sundae looked divine but ended up being saved for another day. I'd love to go back and try some of their other options such as their Ice Cream taco, cookie sandwiches, or even the brownie sundae but maybe with a serving for one. One of my favorite spots to pick up some good soft serve on a hor Florida day! They have changed the menus around a little, and made the flavors very small to see recently, and their drive thru traffic tends to block the front entrance/exit. You can still go up to the window and order, and the coolest part is that you can mix whatever flavors you want in a swirl. It melted very quickly, was very light (seemed very airy) and flavor was..meh. I was not impressed. Just lacked the creaminess of Jeremiah's or even DQ's. Price was $4.25 plus tax, comparable to DQ. I came today through drive thru wanting a cake cone with chocolate ice cream and Oreo on the speaker. He then responded ok so cookies and cream I politely said no and reiterated my order so he could better understand. I pull up to the window and he then proceeded to hand me a cup with ice cream and Oreo pieces in it and slammed the window. I waited for the rest of my order to tell him I didn't ask for that he said ughhhhhhhhh I said I wanted it in a cake cone he said ughhhhhhh can I just give you a cone. I told him I didn't want just a cone and asked if he could remake it and I'll pay. He said ugh no there's a line. I said well this isn't even what I ordered to begin with so can I please get a new one I waited 30 second for a ughhhh and then a sure. Very unprofessional and rude. I'm giving this one a 2 star because the last two times we've been, its been less than stellar service. Someone previously said during long waits, employees go outside to take orders? Yeah.. no. I've never seen it. I just park and order at the walk up. Anyways.. back to the review.... 2 trips ago, they messed up our order. They missed a topping, and my order they put as the cup, instead of a swirl, but that is ok, as I liked the cup better. Easier to hold and less messy as I drove. The last trip though, was the clincher. There was only 1 car in the line so I did the drive through. I was asked to wait, which ended up being a longer wait for just one car in front of me. Eventually, that person's order wasn't big, so not sure why there was a long wait, when we know at least 5 people were inside, and there wasn't a walk up line. So after getting our order, the kid could be heard on the speaker muttering under his breath. Not sure if it was to us as he had to repeat our order as it seemed he was messing up, or to fellow workers. We get tot he drive through, pay, and he gives us the first item after a while. An item that was missing the dip completely. So he takes it back and under his breath curses. Again, not sure if at us, or coworkers, but it was there. Two of the swirls were so tilted over, it made the Leaning Tower of Pisa look like it was straight. I usually don't expect much from this place. jsut get the ice cream fairly quickly, and I'm happy. Its not hard to mess it up, but the last two times its happened. The other employees I saw walking around inside didn't seem to be doing much, other than one talking about what her boyfriend Jacob was doing in his car to another girl. And for the pricing, we will probably opt for some Blue Bell at the store with toppings and still be cheaper than TT. Or Cold Stone. read more

My daughter loves going here. I can't say I mind it. They have an ice cream taco that has a waffle for the taco and chocolate chips on top of the ice cream. So good. They also will give you a free pup cup if you ask for one with dog friendly ice cream. The shape of it like an ice cream cone is cool appeal and it makes it fun for my daughter. I am very disappointed with the Management at this location as well as the owner. I am the parent of a former employee. My son worked at this location for at LEAST a year prior to COVID. He continued to work there during COVID and was promoted to a position of "Shift Lead". During this time when he worked there, he was always present for his shifts for COVID. He worked some shifts when others were "allegedly" quarantined. He covered shifts for Grafton, the manager, when he himself was sick or was having personal emergencies. I was told that my son was a valued employee and I already knew that because of how he is raised and his values. My son was on the frontline of Twistee Treat helping them to keep things in order at the start of COVID, until he recently left for a job that values him more. What I don't understand is HOW you as an owner did not pick up the phone to call my son to thank him for helping to keep your doors open during such a critical time. My son put himself at risk working in a small area where you can't social distance and was there when scheduled employees didn't and wouldn't show up. I think that is very poor behavior and really show that you are all about the money and to hell with the employee. Also, Grafton, I am really taken aback that you didn't as so much give my son a "Thank You" for all that he has done and even for you personally when you had family emergencies. This is why I tell my children to research the culture of employers before you work with them because some employers just don't give a damn. Twistee Treat is one of them. In my opinion, you have too many immature young people that work there and I'm sure this is to the Cone's detriment as I hear the turnover is high. I do thank you for showing my son your true colors. Remember this though, until you do right by people, are you really successful? Do you follow and practice your own vision and mission statements?
