The process was great, including a test drive and on water orientation. When I started this process of buying a boat, I called a few places that seemed less than interested in going thru the process of truly selling me a boat. For brevity, I'll simply provide a list of what I know about Rob: Tangibles: - Great mechanic - Knows boats - power, performance, history of quirks/tendencies - Dependable - what he commits to, he delivers Intangibles: - Memory (beyond boats) is uncanny - years ago I stopped saying, "you work on a lot of boats so I wouldn't expect you to remember..." I stopped because he remembers your name, boat and what he has done to it. - Knows the Lake - Very careful/mindful of your boat while it's in his care - ex: he takes off his shoes when in your boat. Who does that? - Honest/trustworthy - I don't know if it's instinctual or purposeful, but he gets it. The only way to be successful for as long as he has; ya gotta be honest & trustworthy.

I just so happened to catch one of the chain parts stores just prior to closing; they verified my alternator was bad; and (thank the Lord) had one in stock. The young man at the counter suggested a decent hotel in town, and advised: "Now in the morning, you be at Altman's Tire when they open at 8; they'll take care of you." Sure enough, Altman's owner opened the doors just before 8 a.m. the next morning and had me on the road by 10 a.m. The price charged was cheaper than what I would have been charged back home and I've had zero issues with the work they performed. Unlike many big city dealers, and unfortunately another dealer in Culpeper, Madison Ford is scrupulous honest. They do what is required for a fair price, and don't add on unnecessary work to meet some kind of monthly service revenue quota. Madison Ford is especially helpful in taking care of older vehicles. I had another big city Ford dealer tell me that they refused to work on any Ford over 10 years old! Madison is small enough that word gets around on how businesses treat their customers.
