A surprising find after our Valentine's massage at nearby Sound Stone Massage. This place actually used to be the Mile something something restaurant that catered to bikers. Now it's an elegant and rustic steakhouse. Located at the corner of Watson and Lindbergh. Everything we ordered here tasted really great (although the house salad didn't look fresh). Good selection too, they have seafood appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and steak selections. Service is superb. Easy parking, but they also have free valet. Open during lunch. It's not often that I visit a restaurant and enjoy every course, somehow Twisted Tree managed to impress me with every item that was brought to the table. The appetizer, salad, bread, entree, dessert were all AMAZING!!! I highly recommend the lobster bites an an appetizer. Be sure to try both salads, the caesar is very good and the house salad is also impressive. I ordered the Halibut as an entree (also dynamite). Not a good experience, stopped in for lunch. We tried two of their so called great appetizers. The lobster bites and twisted shrimp. Both were Blah ho-hum tasting. Ended up with a $98.00 lunch bill which seemed a bit high for the quality of food and service. Like many St. Louis restaurants they seemed so concerned with masking even though the hostess, manager and staff always seemed to be touching their masks and actually dropping them to talk to each other that it seems we were being served by mindless zombies. We headed to the Twisted Tree for a Friday night happy hour. They call it Sip & Savor here. We each had a glass of wine then shared a couple of snacks; Tenderloin Skewers and Toasted Brisket Ravioli. All of it was excellent and the total bill of $20 is pretty hard to beat at a nice restaurant. This is not a meal, though, as some happy hours would be. We came back another time for dinner, which was a bit of a disappointment. For salads, they give it to you in a bowl that is about enough to make three normal sized salads. Kind of crazy excess, really. The salads were very good though, and I haven't seen multiple salad dressings served at once in years. The Caesar was also very good. The entrée was a miss. I ordered the chicken marsala. It was a large portion, but really very mediocre. I told my wife it was Denny's caliber, although she thought that was harsh. I've had some decent food at Denny's recently, so I'll stand by it. I hope I don't get kicked off Yelp for complimenting Denny's. If so, it's been a fun ride. Wine pallet is on point and the selection for me with reds always makes it hard to choose a bottle. Too many good ones! Plus he's an Orin Swift fan like me!! My wife and I were happy to dine at Twisted Tree a few days ago. They are back with a new, broader menu. We had the aged rib eye and the chicken. The caesar salad was very tasty - creamy and not too tangy or sharp. The wait staff was efficient and attentive giving a few suggestions to improve our experience. While pricing for steaks is pricey, some of the newer plates included added sides. The menus is NOT strictly à la carte adding to the value. After months of fast-food style carry out I was more than ready for something nicer and Twisted Tree was impressively able to keep high quality food from their restaurant at the same standard at my kitchen table. Curbside pickup was extremely fast and easy. We ordered a medium rare tenderloin steak, sides, salad, and scallop entree. We enjoyed our nicely packaged salads then warmed up both dishes (also expertly packaged for take-home) in the microwave for a minute each. They were perfect! Not over cooked, delicious, and tender. This place is my favorite hands down. The food is ALWAYS amazing, as well as the service. They do family style salad with 2 great dressings that you mix together, with homemade croutons. We got a gift card for Twisted Tree from a friend and decided to save and use it on our anniversary. Could not have been a better experience. The salad presentation was very unique. We are major salad people and we were unable to finish it all. The steak was absolutely fantastic. Very tender and juicy. The Twisted shrimp was however our favorite menu item of the night. We expected the steak to be awesome and it was. We never expected the shrimp to become the one thing we wish to go back for more than anything. Service was great too. This was a pleasant steakhouse surprise. Price was a little high, but you could tell they were doing their best to give you what you paid for. I ordered a 20 oz prime rib, medium rare, and boy howdy was it delicious. Perfect amount of fat, came with a delicious horseradish sauce and honestly I couldn't ask for more. The Caesar salad was spectacular, you could tell they use real anchovy and the croutons were just tender enough to be ever so slightly chewy. The asparagus with bearnaise sauce was good, it was the low point of the meal, but still nothing to complain about. overall it was a great meal, a great experience and I think I'll go back. Actually this was the third time we have been there. The second time just had salad and Crab Rangoon at the bar. The food was delicious as previously indicated. This time I had the KC Strip. Very tender and flavorful and was cooked just as I ordered it. My wife had the Prime Rib. She enjoyed it very much as did I...she gave me a taste. We tried the onion rings this time and i do have to say, they were some of the best onion rings I've had. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. My wife tried the Cesar salad this time and she thought it was good. For dessert we had the wedding cake. It was a huge piece of cake and as promised, it was just like a piece of wedding cake.
