Ate at Twisted Tavern on a Sunday evening with two friends and we were all pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Twisted Salad (signature Twisted Tree's house bowl of garden greens, hot garlic croutons, feta cheese & our homemade dressings: Pear Tree Vinaigrette and Madam French Dressing) with Salmon on it. It was delicious just like at Twisted Tree. I love the croutons and the French dressing. One of my friends got the Blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwich and loved it and the other got a pizza and veggie burger. He's vegan and the waiter did an exemplary job going over the vegan menu options. We were super surprised because a lot of times this doesn't happen in St. Louis much less Jefferson County. Service was great and I'm sure I'll be back! Need to try the smash burger! read more

Wow, everything here is amazing! One of the best burgers and one of the best chicken melts I've had. It's amazing how much flavor they can pack into one bite. The fried brussels were a tasty, crispy side item as well. I have a feeling you can't go wrong with anything here. Honestly, this place has become my new "go to" restaurant whenever my hubby and I can't figure out where to eat. It's been reliable for great food and friendly service. On our most recent visit for a Friday night date night, we arrived around 7 and the place was really busy! But, I put our name on the waitlist online and checked in with the host when we arrived. We were lucky that we didn't have to wait too long for a table, but others arriving at the same time had at least a 30 minute wait. When we were seated, our server came over quickly to get our drink orders and we also placed an order for an app. She brought us some water while we waited for our drinks which I very much appreciated. Our drinks came out after a few minutes and I was excited to see the smokey old fashioned because it really did come out of a box with smoke-I will get a vide next time! The let's get fizzical was refreshing for such a warm evening. I am not quite ready for fall or winter drinks so this was a great way to still celebrate summertime. We each ordered our meal and then enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server kept checking in on us and right before our meals came out, she offered us a refill on our drinks which we took her up on, only we each ordered something different. He got a beer and I got a wine. Simple. Our apps and meals were al so good and I would absolutely order the same items again. The lobster melt is always reliable and it's hard to find seafood around here, so this hits the spot. If you haven't had a chance to check out Twisted Tavern yet, I recommend you give it a visit soon. It's totally worth it whether you are meeting up with friends or looking for a nice date night spot. Unfortunate experience at one of our favorite spots... Came here for brunch and had about a 40 minute wait on food for two people (chicken & waffles, biscuits &gravy, candied bacon). Table next to us (4 top) ordered about 10 min after, got their food about 15 min before us. The restaurant was not too busy when we ordered so we weren't sure what was taking so long, as food service here is typically very quick. Food finally came and candied bacon was cold (correct me if it's supposed to come that way) and the biscuits & gravy plate was scorching, but the b&g were barely warm themselves. Receipt stated "on the fly", so guessing our order was forgotten about... Will return, as we typically sit at the bar for service for drinks/dinner, but likely won't be back for brunch after this. read more

My wife and I decided to take a chance on this place after church, just to be different. We were pleasantly surprised. We happened upon their Sunday brunch, and it was awesome. My wife got the STL classic, two eggs your way, hash browns and Waffles. I got the biscuits and gravy ( I went with the optional jalapeño cheddar biscuits) the gravy was a sausage gravy with a cheese mixture. I added two eggs. The service was friendly and they always checked on us. The restaurant itself was very comfortable and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Visiting St Louis for a quick overnight getaway, my wife and I wanted to find a spot for dinner; somewhere we couldn't eat back home. So I opened up my trusty YELP app and perused a list of options, and the one that really caught my eye was Twisted Tavern. I called to ask if we needed a reservation and learned they didn't take reservations, but that we could be added to the wait list and should have a table in a half hour. When we arrived, we checked in with the hostess and had a table within 15 minutes. We scouted out the menu online before getting there and knew it was going to be a struggle to choose. We ended up ordering four different apps and a wedge salad, all to share. The wedge included fried shallots, small tomatoes, bacon bits, and boiled eggs... the perfect amount of each. It was light and fresh-- a perfect way to start. The fried pickles and cheese curds were elevated versions of their expected counterparts. Each came with its own dipping sauce, and each was delicious. The curds were especially good. We also ordered the tenderloin skewers and the crispy Brussels sprouts over Grits. Both of these gave a glimpse of the capabilities of Twisted Tavern's kitchen staff. Each individual bite of the glazed tenderloin, served atop a green peppercorn sauce, was tender and packed with a perfect balance of flavor. The Brussels sprouts were roasted and charred, served over a bed of creamy cheesy grits made with Gouda-- a combination I would never have envisioned but loved at first bite. The dish was also drizzled with a trace of lemon aioli... subtle, but effective. Date nights for us almost always include a cocktail. My wife ordered the BlackBerry smash and dove straight in before I was able to catch a photo. She loved it. I ordered a Chocolate Espresso Martini and asked for it to come as dessert after the meal. Like everything else, it was delicious. Our server was wonderfully attentive, always checking in, but never hovering. I found this particularly impressive as the place was packed. There was nothing about our experience that was anything less than excellent. It takes A LOT to earn a five star rating from me, but Twisted Tavern deserves ALL of them! read more

Yes, their $5.00 salad is all it's cracked up to be and very much well worth the price. Beyond that, it's a good local Midwest restaurant serving Midwest types and styles of food. We started off with Deep Fried Mushrooms and Brisket Ravioli. Mushrooms we're good but the raviolis we're a bit over fried making the edges and corners tough and harder then anticipated to eat. Brisket made them sound good and different. Unfortunately the meat seems shredded and could have been almost anything. Couldn't tell if it was brisket or not. Then moved on to their famous side salad they were good. Entrées were Lobster Sandwich and Steak Sandwich. Lobster needed more and they over toasted the bread so eating it was not fun. Not a lot of lobster either so missed out on the full flavor. Should have know better then getting seafood in Missouri. Wife's steak sandwich was also a little tough to bite into. Ended up using a knife and fork and forgoing most of the bread for both sandwiches. Friend had their Crispy Tavern Chicken Sandwich which was huge and looked really good. He scored. His wife got Spaghetti and Meatballs she said we're good. Service though was very good accommodated us moving from a booth to a table with ease. Friends want to come here and they like it so that's why we came here. Would I come back, probably not. read more

My family and I have been regular customers of Twisted Tavern since it opened. The steaks were always excellent and you could always rely on them to be tender and taste great. However, the last three times we were there I had a steak and they were very thin, tough and had numerous pieces of gristle. We were in town briefly for a family reunion. After a few less than stellar family meals around town, I was dying for something we didn't have back at home and the menu looked like it had great options for everyone - including a delicious sounding cocktail menu. Did not disappoint! Food was hot and fresh with generous portions. The roasted street corn was so good! The chicken sandwich was perfection. We had the featured margarita which was a spicy margarita. It had a major kick but an amazing flavor! And lastly we shared a generous portion of wedding cake - one of the featured desserts. I think they come from a local bakery. Even better the service was fantastic. Swift, attentive, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We were there at the end of the night right up to close but never felt rushed or unwelcome. After getting the check we were so surprised at the reasonable prices of the drinks, too! All in all it was a great experience and the dining highlight of the trip! read more

We've been to the Twisted Tree and Twisted Tavern about a dozen times. Unfortunately, the quality of the food seems to be in permanent decline. We had lunch at the Twisted Tavern yesterday (3/22/25). Kylee was our server. She was very nice and did a great job. On the other hand, the food was a disappointment. I ordered the Sweet Heat Burger. The patties were cooked nicely and were tasty. But the fried cheese curds on the burger were very undercooked, mealy, and flavorless. Culver's cheese curds are way better! Also, the bun did not stand up to the meat's juices and turned into a wet mess. We both selected onion rings as the side orders for our burgers. I believe there was a $2.00 upcharge for them. The onion ring batter was very thick, flavorless, and undercooked. So, the resultant onion rings were chewy, starchy, and quite awful. How about a light, crispy batter on the rings? The sauce that came paired with the rings was also unappealing. Believe it or not, Burger King's onion ring sauce is far tastier. I buy Twisted Tavern/Tree gift certificates for my colleagues each holiday season. Recent meals leave me considering alternatives. read more

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. No wait at all. Greeted immediately and seated. Server was awesome. Kept up with my drinks and as I've posted in the past that is a tough feat! Got toasted ravs first but they were stuffed with brisket. Really good. The Mrs ordered mahi fish sandwich with street corn. The sandwich she said was "so so" but again she is tough to please. She raved about the street corn though. I got spaghetti and meatballs. Very very good. The meatballs were homemade and wagyu. Definitely recommend it. Definitely surprised with the food and service here. We will be back. The total bill was 60 bucks. read more

Celebrated my birthday yesterday and what a fabulous experience we had and all thanks to our waiter Devan. He brought his charming personality each time he came to our table whether is was taking our orders or just checking on us. We had lots a of laughs with him. This place is my new favorite place! This place was busy. We had a 20 minute wait time for a large party 10+ so not bad. We ordered all different things off the menu. I got the lobster melt, we got the burger, the chicken hot burger, the spaghetti, etc. The lobster melt was very good to me it tasted perfect, I only wish it was like on a toasted sub roll rather than white toasted bread. Everything was FRESH! I got Brussel sprouts (they were not salted) and a little dry but still good, we ordered extra fries which was $5+ to add a side kind of pricey for a side. Fries were good and crispy. The burgers were juicy and a lot of toppings, their spicy sweet hot sauce is probably my fav and their ranch is the best (better than circle 7 ranch) yea I know didn't know someone could beat them!!!! The roasted corn was sooo good and delicious, creamy but roasted and lots of flavor. Now the spaghetti I'm always hesitant to buy even for kids or something because it always tastes like too tomato or too chunky. Their spaghetti was soooooo creamy, a creamy tomato wine color sauce, the meatballs were not frozen store bought type, literally some of the best meatballs ever. I'm impressed by the spaghetti and the other food. The hot chicken sandwich was soo good too and a side of asparagus that was roasted nicely! I would definitely be back. Very cool ambience, and the food and service were very good. I have been there three times: once I got pizza (it wasn't bad but not as good as other things on the menu), once I got a chicken breast club sandwich special (not on the regular menu but it was really great), and once I got the twisted chicken sandwich (huge and so fresh and hot I had to wait a while before I could eat it). Everyone I have taken there has agreed it is a good restaurant. I have never had a SINGLE French fry from this place that wasn't crispy as hell! read more

Great gift for the buyer and recipient! The holiday special was to spend $100 on gift cards, and receive a total of $120. This made it possible to give more value, so my parents didn't have to spend their own money in excess of the gift card. It's the perfect spot and always packed but always moving quickly! Usually come for happy hour drinks. Always have a friendly staff. Full bar with multiple tv's so you can catch any sports game. So far I've tried their cosmo and espresso martini, and their house margarita , all have been great. Full bar which looks like a lot of different whiskeys to choose from. They serve brunch to dinner. This place has a great location: right in the middle of town and right off the highway. Made this the stop for lunch today with a few former coworkers, and Twisted Tavern was a great choice! Try the dirty Shirley drink! You won't regret it! The restaurant does have some limited parking adjacent to the building, and there is plenty in the commuter lot next to the restaurant. Coming in on a Tuesday at noon, we had no trouble being seated right away. The waitress was great! She managed the bar and the dining area around it with ease. We had no wait for waters, drinks, or food. If the review was solely based on food it would receive a 4/5. The food was quality, and both burgers we cooked throughly. The steak also proved satisfactory. The spinach dip was not very thick and difficult to get on the provided bread. The bread also was on the harder side and was difficult to bite into. read more
