Staff is okay I went after 7:00 to avoid the dinner crowd I ordered a meal and a drink and the drink was awesome the food was pretty good it just took a little while to get the food being as there's only six people or families in there eating at the time I was in there and there was 11 or 12 employees walking around the whole place manager included. For Arnold it was okay it's up on the hill it wasn't the best Applebee's I've had or been to but it was okay. But I will say the friendliness of the staff and the constant checking on you was was worth the trip. Had been going to the Applebee's for a while. The food was good and the service was good. Went in one day and all of a sudden this had changed. They wouldn't let us sit where we asked to be seated. We asked the server over and over that we wanted a seat by the window, there were all kinds of open seats in the area that we wanted to be seated so we said fine wherever you want as long as it's by a window so what does she do. She sat us at a wall. I'm looking at someone I've seen in there just about every time I was in there and I assume she is in management watching all this go on and never bothered to intervene . The girl was rude. She wouldn't even listen to us. She just turned her back on us and walked away when we're asking for another table . When we realized this person could care less what we were saying, we walked out. It's a shame because for a while the service was good and the food was good. You must be making all kinds of money to treat your customers with such disrespect . I sent two emails to the Applebee corporation telling them of the situation that happened . the website said I would be receiving a reply within two days. I just ordered two kids meals and an oriental chicken salad. I ordered the salad and made sure to put down no almonds. When I got home my salad looked good and I didn't see any almonds initially. After several bites my tongue started tingling and going numb. It turns out there were some almond slices in the salad, but far less than normally comes on it. So now I've just dosed myself with Benadryl and I'm hoping I don't end up having anaphylaxis to it. I'm definitely frustrated. Why would someone put five almonds slices in a salad that isn't supposed to have any? read more

They were short staffed tonight, so we waited 30 minutes to be seated while half the tables were empty. I understand though. We both got the endless boneless wings special and the first round came out quickly but were not hot at all. We mentioned it to our waitress and the next round(s) of wings were hotter. Fries were fresh and hot every time, as was the corn dog for the grand baby. Sweet tea was good, which is important to me. I'm picky on that. Waitress Cheyenne was very nice and attentive. A pretty horrible experience. I ordered this chicken and barbecue bacon sandwich and there is so little sauce on it that the waitress had a point out that the orange dots on the bun was the barbecue sauce. The bacon was very tough and the french fries were cold. I just can't believe I actually paid good money for such substandard food. Also the guy at the door looked at me blankly when I walked in giving no direction if I was supposed to seat myself or wait to be seated. I had to speak first and ask him what he wanted me to do which he answered "you can just sit at the bar if you want". It'll be a long time before I visit another Applebee's, if ever. read more

The only complaint I really had on my visit, was that they didn't do baked potatoes until 4 pm. I can't really get mad at them for that. So I ended up getting the 8 ounce sirloin, the Mac and cheese, and French fries. I felt like it was pretty good, because I actually cleaned the plate, lol. Holly was my server, but she was also doubling as the bartender. I didn't interact with her much, but she was nice and friendly. It wasn't busy so while most people would like their server to be more attentive, I thought the amount she did was just perfect for me. I'm the type that like to read my ebook while I eat, so as long as the basics are done for me I'd rather the waitress/server to focus on the others. I don't factor it against them in terms of their tip, because I'm happy with that level of service. So thank you, Holly. Today was me and my husbands 20th wedding anniversary. We went on our first date at the Applebee's in Arnold so we decided to reenact that special date by eating there again. We told our waitress Christy about it, who by chance, happened to work there all those years ago, and she was so excited for us that she mentioned it to her manager. Went here on a Wednesday evening with coworkers for a working dinner. There were 9 of us total, and our server skillfully kept all our bills separate and accurate. She was also quick to refill our drinks and very friendly. I ordered the shrimp skewers, which came 5 to a stick. They were delicious and tasty. What the hell do they do to their steaks at this location! When they brought it out it was almost white. For a second I thought they brought me a price of chicken at first. The steak was sub par and the flavor was off a bit in an odd way I can't really even describe wouldn't finish eating it. The sides where good though and the waitress was very nice. PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES, BEWARE! We spent $90.48 on an order of Carside To Go ribs at two separate Applebee's in the area tonight because nobody could get the order correct. In the end, we got no ribs. I have food allergies. For a very long time Applebee's has been one of only two restaurants I am able to eat at. No longer. About a month ago I went to eat at a location I don't normally go to with a friend. I made the server very aware of my allergies. She was very kind. I got my ribs, but since my friend and I both got a side of fries, our server just gave us a big plate of fries to split which, unfortunately had steak seasoning that I could not have. But she was kind, so I didn't say anything and just didn't eat them. I ate my ribs and, unfortunately, had an immediate allergic reaction to the ribs, which sucked because we were going to a show afterwards. The other night I ordered ribs from the Waterloo IL location, which is the one I usually go to. I paid for extra sauce on the side. We got it home, the ribs were dry, burnt, torn apart, and there was no extra sauce. Disappointing, since the sauce helps me eat (I have Dysphagia: A swallowing disorder), but ok. Then tonight. I ordered ribs and a burger from the Fenton location. We paid over the app and a family member went to go pick it up. When they arrived, the server gave them the burger, but informed them that they were out of ribs, but they could offer us something else. Again, I have allergies, so that's not gonna work. So I make the same order, but send it to the Arnold Applebee's instead. So they pick up the food from the Arnold location, bring it home, I open my dinner (finally) and the ribs are thrown together in a container COVERED in garlic mashed potatoes which I cannot have. We called and the manager was very nice, but as compensation put a note in that our next order from their location is to be fully compensated. The unfortunate thing is, I will not be using it. My family can, but I no longer trust Applebee's who was rated so highly in the allergy friendly community here for so long. I can see why people are saying things have been changing. So now my family is enjoying a nice dinner of ribs, mashed potatoes, chicken, and burgers, and I'm having potato chips for dinner. I essentially spent $90.48 on a bag of chips and I had to wait two hours to eat it. Thanks for the meal, Applebee's. Lesson learned. read more

Ordered carside to go as no one wanted to cook tonight. After I got home with my order I discovered that one of the entrees, the bourbon street steak, was missing its side of roasted potatoes & sautéed mushrooms as described on the menu. It did have what I would call half way sautéed onions. Most of the onions looked raw. When I get something to go I don't feel I should to have to check everything before I leave.
