I've been to 10 BBQ establishments in Michigan so far, and none of them had a better meat platter than Bubba's. The brisket looked and tasted exactly like it's supposed to. Both the jalapeño cheddar and "frito pie" sausages were top tier. The frito pie sausage is, unfortunately, not a regular menu item. The ribs were flavorful and meaty. The pulled pork was moist and tasty. Even the sides, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, and mac n cheese, were good. Of those 4, I preferred the beans and cornbread. The platter came with 3 sauces, Texas pepper, sweet smoke, and honey mustard. The sweet smoke was my favorite. If you haven't gotten the hint by now, Bubba's is a must try.

K-blocks BBQ is tucked away in a cute little strip mall and well decorated but dark when you walk in. They have bar and dining room seating, and since it wasn't busy, I chose to dine in the dining room. The menus fabulous, and portions seem really on point. I chose to get the brisket sandwich and it came with a side of chips. if I wanted an additional side, it would've been $4, but I wasn't feeling it so I stuck with the house made chips, which were actually quite good. The brisket sandwich was absolutely delicious. Totally on point and really hit the spot. Not to much food, but definitely not skimpy either. It came on marble rye bread and I ate the whole thing! Service was good and the whole thing only set me back $15 plus tip. Woot woot! Even though it's a bit of a drive, I really enjoyed my food and will return in the future.

Portions are large and shareable, or you can get your own order and save the rest for a lovely lunch the next day (make your co-workers jealous). Everyone happily noshing on huge portions at a reasonable price. The brisket is the best of the bunch. Smoky, tender and even juicy. I could eat this brisket all damn day. No need for sauce but the sauce was nice. The ribs were meaty St. Louis cut. Big and lean. Nice clean bite, no tug. The meat really got a good kiss of smoke, so again no need for sauce but sauce still available and tasty. The pulled pork was good. Bark in the mix, which is always a treat. Not mushy a bit but not stringy either. This one is better with sauce imo so you may want to ask for extra. The mac and cheese is the only clunker here. I am not a huge Mac and cheese person but when I like it, I love it. This was meh. Bland. It comes with a plate but I wish there were other options. Any other option. I saved the cornbread for last. Both the burger and chicken sandwich exceeded my expectations. I forgot to request how I wanted my burger cooked, but Joe made it just right (medium/medium rare). "The Sauce" on the burger was a nice touch, as was the "313 sauce" and kewpie mayo on the chicken sandwich. The fries had a classic taste to them, similar to McDonald's fries. I went on St. Patrick's Day, so there were a few specials: a corned beef sandwich, a reuben sausage patty sandwich, and a honey mustard sausage patty sandwich. I didn't get the corned beef, but I did try both sausage sandwiches. Of those, I preferred the reuben sausage. The potato wedges each sandwich came with were thick and flavorful. I also tried the pulled pork sliders, D-mac and cheese, loaded brisket nacho, and both the sweet and jalapeño cornbreads. The sliders were good, but the sauce and pickles on top took them to the next level. The D-mac is one of the more popular items, and is definitely worth getting. The nachos were my favorite part of this meal. The combination of the queso and salsa with the brisket was to die for. As for the cornbread, both were enjoyable, but the jalapeño is the way to go. The carryout location is where you'll find the traditional BBQ. The "special Q" menu includes bacon wrapped sausage bites, pig candy (candied bacon), and burnt ends. Of these, the bacon wrapped sausage bites were my favorite. As for the sides, I've tried them all besides the waffle fries. The beans had a noticeable smoky flavor. The garlic mashed redskins were my least favorite side, but were still good. The coleslaw was very well seasoned. The "down home" mac and cheese was my favorite, and is some of the more memorable mac I've had from a BBQ establishment. The meats on the menu are brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. To me, t ribs and brisket stood out over the other two. For dessert, the Tennessee tumble cake is a must get. It's similar to a Saunders bumpy cake... but better. BBQ Daddy outsources this from La Petite Pastry Shoppe. Lastly, don't sleep on the pizza. The pizza sauce here had a sweet and smoky flavor that was truly unique. This is the longest review I've ever written, but it's well-deserved. The last thing I'll mention is that the customer service here is exceptional.
