This was once the best broasted chicken in the area. While prices have been rising the product was always good. Today was a disappointment as the price for a 2 piece snack and a coke was $15+. The chicken did not have the flavor I had come to expect, in fact it had a taste of fish, as though it had been cooked in the same oil used for seafood. The first star was for the fries and coke, good but not the reason for dining here.. The second star was for service which was as good as it ever was. The coleslaw is homemade and unique., So good and not too salty. I live close to North Shack. I go there about once a month. My order is always the same - Cod dinner with broasted potatoes and a chicken dinner with broasted potatoes. Their food is plentiful and those 2 dinners last me 2 or 3 days. They have large servings. I especially like their cod dinner. 5 big pieces of cod. I have a few pieces of cod for dinner and save the rest to make fish sandwiches. Their chicken is also good but, to be truthful, I can get good chicken anywhere. Cod is the way to go. read more

This place is very similar, if not identical, to Chicken Shack which it shares a name with coincidentally (or not)? That's not a bad thing, but I felt like the amount of food I got for what I paid for coulda been more. It didn't help that I got smaller than average pieces of chicken. The food here is amazing. This place is a hidden gem. I'm not sure why there are a lot of bad reviews regarding customer service. Everything was delicious and a good portions for what you pay. 16 chicken tenders (they're huge and no breading) 1lb of potatoes, a bucket of slaw and a small order of mozzarella sticks was about $35! Fed a family of 4 perfectly with leftovers. The chicken was really juicy and I'm shocked on the size of each one- they were literally huge! I have been officially schooled. I went through the drive through and the young man asked me to pull up that my order would be right out. After I watched the lady in front of me get tired if waiting and go into the restaurant to pick up her order I waited a minute or two and called to check on my order. I love fried chicken!! Although it may not be that healthy, I probably crave it at least once a month. With that said, North Shack is one of my favorite places to go. Their food always comes out piping hot and it's so delicious!! They slather their breasted potatoes in what I assume is butter but it makes it that much better. Their specials are great: they offer $5 off a bucket of chicken on Monday and two chicken meal deal on Tuesday. Their lunch specials aren't bad either and doesn't exclude weekends which is nice. My usual order is chicken bucket with a side of sour cream to dip my broasted potato in. However, their fish sandwich is pretty delicious. It has good flavor and is huge. The only bad experience I have had was when my coleslaw was extremely dry that we had to throw it away. I'm not sure what was wrong with it but it was not edible to me nor my husband.
