Bad brads never disappoints! I've been to a couple different locations and this one is a little on the smaller side but the service was on point. I got the 2 meat platter with brisket and pulled pork. Both were flavorful and lean. The portions were huge i ended up having leftovers. The extra bbq sauces on the table are a must! The 321 and spicy were the best. The platter also came with 2 sides. I got the mac and cheese and salad. The salad was huge and the dressing was so unique. I was skeptical getting a salad from a bbq place but i had no regrets. The mac and cheese was creamy with a nice browned top exactly how all mac and cheese should be. Overall this place has the best bbq in the area! I would recommend going here if you are looking for quick and quality bbq. Also ask for the extra spicy bbq sauce it is my favorite! read more

I can't say that I have a completely valid opinion of this restaurant because all I got were chicken wings and fries. But what I will say is that my meal was delicious all around, their home made BBQ sauces are well made and provide different flavor profiles from one another, and the place is nice for dining in as well. We ordered a carry out. We were told it would be ready at 5:37, it was ready at 5:36; hows that for accuracy? The manager greeted me right away. The young woman working the carry out was on type of things and friendly. She checked to make sure everything was correct before handing my order over. The nachos are delicious, but the chips were a tad salty this time. The Mac & cheese is creamy, peppery & delicious! Didn't get to taste the cornbread, hubby devoured it. The meats were good, pulled chicken, pulled pork, & ribs. I like my meat juicy, so for me, the ribs were the best! Drizzled the bbq sauce over the chicken & pork, so yummy! This place if my fav place to ho and today I took my family and they felt the same. Food is always delicious and perfectly cooked. We got the dinner for 4 ppl and we still left with a lot of leftovers. Service is always good and Kayli went above and beyond! I feel like they live up to their name. It was pretty bad here. The service was good and it looks pretty clean. The food however...was not great. The brisket had the dryness of sand paper. The cornbread was pretty decent although it fell apart very easily. The sausage was supposed to be cheddar sausage but there wasn't too much cheese in it...if any at all. My husband and I were on an errand to pick up an item in New Baltimore, over an hour from our house. He picked the place for dinner that was close to our destination. We couldn't have picked a better place!!!! The staff was very attentive and even indulged my husband with the ingredients of the corn bread, which is the best corn bread we've EVER had. We had the pork belly burnt ends and that 321 sauce on them was FIRE!! He ordered the 1/2 slab of ribs and the cornbread and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was served hot and the texture was perfect and had a nice crunch on the top. The flavor was amazing! I got a build your own tacos with the pulled pork and brisket. To quote bob dylan this has been a slow train comin for me. This place always suffered when I compared it to slows in the D. But this time around it finally hit me. I had a half rack of ribs with sides of Mac and cheese and beans. Absolutely stupendous! I recommend that 123 sauce (or is is 321) which hits the sweet spot on flavor. The campfire nachos sounded so good, we are back already and it's only been a few days since our first visit to the other location in Shelby Township. Started off with a campfire nachos with shredded chicken, it's good, but wasn't as good as the one we had at their Shelby location. Was a bit more sparse. We also ordered the Turkey platter with potato salad, cole slaw, 2 jalapeño cornbread and a BBQ chicken salad, comes with the BBQ ranch dressing. There's a bar for your feet to rest on at the booths. It's cold and drafty by the bar, the front door is nearby and wafts of cold air rushes in here and there. They did take down our name and contact for contact tracing, maybe add the date to it too? The salsa here is a tad bland, reminds me of bruschetta a bit. The chicken salad comes with bacon bits. The salad itself is just okay, not special. The chicken would be better if it was with their BBQ chicken meat instead of the fried chicken used for the kid's chicken tenders. The Turkey platter was good. The meat wasn't dry. I would really like to see the pit beans and the collard greens with no meat options. I like collard greens but don't eat beef and I really like baked beans but I don't eat pork. The waitress tried to charge me for the collard greens I didn't ask for at all or rather the cole slaw I had asked as one of my 2 sides and they charged us $0.50 for the awful salsa too. I had to flag her down to take the collard greens off the bill. They also charge you for soda water. read more

I had not been to this Bad Brads BBQ location, since 9 years ago. I remember the restaurant being one of the first restaurants I went to when I transferred job locations back then. I remember liking the food back then. So when my co-workers decided to meet at the restaurant after work last week, I was definitely excited to try the food again, and I was not disappointed! We started with a couple of appetizers: BBQ nachos and Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Both appetizers were really good! One of my co-workers like the Pork Belly burnt ends so much, that she ordered the dish as a main entree as well. For the entree; I ordered Beef Brisket, Pit Beans, Mac and Cheese and cornbread on the side. The food was really good, and filling! We all ended of taking boxes of food home. Nice atmosphere and rustic decor. Service is always friendly, upbeat and they check in on you pretty regularly. The food is consistently delicious. We ordered the pulled pork, brisket, spicy sausage, bbq chowder and Downtown Fries, all of which was great! I've lived here for three years and have always wanted to come to Bad Brad's. I came with a friend and we sat out on the back patio, perfect timing too, we got there right after the dinner rush. This location has a lot of charm, the inside is nice, but the patio area was really nice and quite relaxing. Started out with the campfire nachos with pulled pork. Little tip the front host told us was to switch out the chips for fries..which are hand-cut on premises. I love pulled pork nachos and these were delicious! You know how you get them from a big bbq chain and everything is on top but the poor bottom chips are naked? Well not these nachos. Everything was smothered and covered and they were fantastic. I went with the two meat combo - pulled pork and brisket, and a side of Mac and cheese and the sour cucumber salad. The pulled pork was good, but the brisket is definitely the winner here. Great cut of meat, marbled and just enough fat. I'm from Texas, I know brisket y'all..and this was great! The homemade Mac and cheese was delish and so was the salad. It was so much food I had to take it home and now it's in my fridge calling my name. The sweet sauce was good too, I didn't get a chance to try the 3-2-1 sauce but next time! I heard each location has a little bit different menu then the others so I have to check out another location for the Chicken and Waffles I keep hearing about. Good liquor/beer selection. Small bar to sit at or grab a drink while you wait. Dining area is cozy- not too small and still easy to have a wait. I got the 1-2 chicken and sides to share with someone who got ribs. A full rack is a lot!! They have a great selection of sides and we had the pit beans, corn bread, collard greens and Mac and cheese. All was good. And too much so you get too bring some home. I love Bad Brads. I truly do believe they have the best barbecue in Detroit. I am a beef brisket connoisseur. They have the best. They have the best sauce. Mix the spicy with the 321! I wish they still had chicken wings available, but because of Biden we have a food shortage (wake up people!) and prices are outrageous. Their pig candy is really good and so are the nachos. I enjoy the ribs, the coleslaw, and also the pit beans. Everything there is exceptional. I have not ventured much outside of the barbecue realm. Great lunch, delicious. Brisket was awesome. Sometimes it's dry, but here it was perfect, ask for the fatty brisket to make sure you get the best slices. The menu is very nice, there are plenty of food choices, and also combo choices (1 meat, 2 meats, sides, sandwiches etc). Pork belly app was really good! A little too much sauce-I would rec asking for light on the sauce. Side salad was nice, just normal, but the homemade ranch was exceptional. You can tell they pay attention to details if they make their own ranch and other dressings. Chips were delicious, potato salad, slaw, and mac n cheese looked delicious. I've loved Bad Brad's for years! It's the place we go when we want barbecue. If you go on a weekend be prepared for a wait. This place gets busy. They have a good beer selection, and a great menu. I usually get the brisket or the pulled pork, and I enjoy putting the different sauces on it that they leave at the table. There's sweet, sour, spicy, and another one called 3-2-1 that's a combination of them all. If you order a platter, you get to pick 2 or 3 sides. The sides are great! I've tried the cornbread, the coleslaw, mac & cheese, sweet potato mash, and probably others but those are the ones I remember. On a recent trip there my sister had the bbq nachos, something I'd never think of ordering. They looked excellent and she said they were. Part of what was special about them is the toppings were evenly distributed. You know how you usually order nachos and there's tons of topping in the middle but then there are all kinds of plain, sad nachos without topping on the sides? Not these. The toppings were obviously put on there intentionally to cover ALL the nacho chips. If you're in the mood for barbecue, I'd recommend trying Bad Brad's! read more
