Walked in a little after 11AM and it was empty. Space was small, but they had tables, booths and the bar. I contemplated if I should get the tacos since it was their Tuesday menu special or the Shepherd's Pie. Server said get the BBQ Shepherd's Pie with brisket. As a side, I got a side salad. I wanted the mac and cheese, but it's already topped with it and their cornbread bake. All in all, the food was okay. Maybe a bit biased growing up in the Carolinas and having lived in Texas recently, but the bbq itself was okay. The brisket was a bit more on the sweeter side. Even their sauces from sweet to spicy, they were more on the sweeter side.

I went on St. Patrick's Day, so there were a few specials: a corned beef sandwich, a reuben sausage patty sandwich, and a honey mustard sausage patty sandwich. I didn't get the corned beef, but I did try both sausage sandwiches. Of those, I preferred the reuben sausage. The potato wedges each sandwich came with were thick and flavorful. I also tried the pulled pork sliders, D-mac and cheese, loaded brisket nacho, and both the sweet and jalapeño cornbreads. The sliders were good, but the sauce and pickles on top took them to the next level. The D-mac is one of the more popular items, and is definitely worth getting. The nachos were my favorite part of this meal. The combination of the queso and salsa with the brisket was to die for. As for the cornbread, both were enjoyable, but the jalapeño is the way to go. The carryout location is where you'll find the traditional BBQ. The "special Q" menu includes bacon wrapped sausage bites, pig candy (candied bacon), and burnt ends. Of these, the bacon wrapped sausage bites were my favorite. As for the sides, I've tried them all besides the waffle fries. The beans had a noticeable smoky flavor. The garlic mashed redskins were my least favorite side, but were still good. The coleslaw was very well seasoned. The "down home" mac and cheese was my favorite, and is some of the more memorable mac I've had from a BBQ establishment. The meats on the menu are brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. To me, t ribs and brisket stood out over the other two. For dessert, the Tennessee tumble cake is a must get. It's similar to a Saunders bumpy cake... but better. BBQ Daddy outsources this from La Petite Pastry Shoppe. Lastly, don't sleep on the pizza. The pizza sauce here had a sweet and smoky flavor that was truly unique. This is the longest review I've ever written, but it's well-deserved. The last thing I'll mention is that the customer service here is exceptional. The owner, Brent, and the pit master, Jim, are two of the nicest guys you'll come across. If you're looking for some good BBQ or a place worthy of your business, check out BBQ Daddy.

I personally think this is the second-best BBQ in Macomb county (Bad Brads being in 1st place). I've always gotten the pulled pork sandwich, it is tender and flavorful but when you pair it with the apple BBQ sauce - amazing! I LOVE their BBQ chips, they are so tasty with a good blend of smokey and tangy flavors. I would just got back for the chips. Every time I've visited this restaurant, the service has been good with friendliness and attentiveness. Once the food is order, it comes out quickly, you're not waiting years for it! The only downside (two) I would share that doesn't give this place a 5-star review would be that each time I've visited, the bottom bun of the pulled pork sandwich is soggy (which I cannot stand and grosses me out) and the facility is cold (during the cold months). This review for Bird Dogz is a long time coming. We've been following Chef Jess for the last two summers because the food is that good. Almost everything on her decked out hot dogs and chicken sandwiches is made from scratch - from the coleslaw to the pineapple bbq sauce and dill pickle chips, hell I think the mayo is even from scratch. The fresh squeezed lemonade, which comes in several flavors, is what lemonade should taste like, not overly sweet but very refreshing and light. As we're making our way through the menu after many visits already, here are some of our highlights: "Frankie" Hot Dog - jumbo hot dog topped with brown sugar bacon, homemade coleslaw, crushed chips, scallions, and apple butter...yes apple butter and trust me it's literally a perfect compliment to the rest of the ingredients. But they also have great looking sandwiches and fantastic ice cream treats. On my first visit I got the following. Frankie Dog- amazing combo of sweet bacon, crispy fresh slaw, apple butter and chips. Was an amazing salty sweet blend...fantastic Garlic Parm fries- loved the pedal shape of the fries great for scooping up the Parm garlic mix and a little ketchup Strawberry float- not just vanilla ice cream with pop. This had chunks of fresh strawberries mixed in...fantastic Blueberry cinnamon roll- this may have been a daily special but I hope not...definitely would like to get it again. What was also nice was the great sitting area they have set up. There were a couple tents set up, and nicely furnished. There were even cards and board games to play while you waited for your food. That was a great touch. I'll definitely be back
