Double sided fireplace

I went here for a work event, and sat in the event room. We sat next to the fireplace, which gave us a cozy vibe. The servers were attentive, and offered us bowls of bread and butter, along with keeping our beverages full. I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered the eggs Benedict, without the meat. It came with a side as well, so I chose a sweet potato. The food was good, but nothing that knocked my socks off. Perhaps a carnivore could offer a different perspective, since this IS a chophouse. I was, however, thankful to have another option besides soups and salads, which they DO also have. So overall - good service, nice atmosphere, decent food.

Classic Manhattan and a Lemon and lavender martini.

Food was wonderful , drinks were great and the service and atmosphere was wonderful including the live piano player . I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

Walking in, this restaurant did not have your typical Chop House feel. It felt more like a strip mall restaurant., not a cozy, upscale steakhouse. Service was adequate although not very friendly. I ordered a ribeye medium rare and shame on them as a Chop House for bringing me a medium steak. They did bring out a new one that was cooked correctly but it didn't really make up for getting it wrong the first time as this is supposed to be their specialty. I was not impressed and would say everything was just average here.

Louis' Chop House is an upscale restaurant with old charm interior. It is recommended to make a reservation which I called the day before. I had the tiramisu martini which was excellent as the first sip was the true taste of the beloved Italian dessert. We enjoyed the Saganaki -traditional Greek dish. For the entree,I enjoyed a large portion of the chicken parmesan and my other half had steak with an À la carte potatoes. He also enjoyed a Moscow mule adult beverage. The service was good, friendly. So if you want to have a date night or out with your friends for a good experience, Louis' Chop House is the spot!

I came here with a group of 19 people. We were sat in a private room, which was nice so we could not be too loud for other people . The service wasn't bad, but I didn't really know who our server was (we had three) and it took a while for drinks and bread, although the food came out actually pretty quick. The filet and Detroiter were delicious. The Au Gratin potatoes (not pictured) were a hit and I would definitely recommend a side of that. My cauliflower wasn't my favorite so I probably wouldn't order it again. The steak potatoes were hardly seasoned. And I heard the frog legs weren't tasty. But my stout on tap was $7.50 and it was delicious. I would come back and try some other dishes. I know people were saying in the comments this place is very expensive, but compared to other places, this place isn't that expensive. But it is worth the money. Oh, and if you are with a group, they can split the bill evenly between each bill or they will put it on one card, but they do not take numerous payments on a table.

Prices on the website are outdated. Carryout was $160 when, according to the website, it should have been less than $100.

Almost all of our food was cold. My 3 year old sons steak was rotten. When I tried it, it made me throw up. I do not recommend!

Stopped in recently with my family of 6 to celebrate a few birthdays. The parking lot was packed but, surprisingly, the inside was not. We were seated promptly and we got our drink and appetizer order in right away (Their spinach and artichoke dip is amazing!) We got our order put in shortly after. I'm taking off one star from my review because our waitress was pretty scatterbrained for our entire visit. One of our appetizers was the Texas Tonion, which was crispy onion petals with a zesty dip. We waited for her to bring a ranch dip to us. Not a big deal. Another issue was someone in the group ordered a baked potato with butter and sour cream and she got it loaded instead. Again, not a huge dealbreaker. Food was dropped off shortly after. My sister's meal was dropped off later than the rest of ours. There's not much of an excuse because, again, there wasn't many in the restaurant. I recommend the grilled chicken and strawberry salad. It's ENORMOUS -- easily enough to split with someone else. The chicken is juicy and the toppings are all fresh. Boyfriend loved his shrimp and mashed potatoes. Others enjoyed their chicken, steak, salmon and chicken tenders. This gets to the part where we really noticed how scatterbrained the waitress was. She asked us for to go boxes (everyone had leftovers) and she only brought a small amount to the table. It was like pulling teeth trying to get extra boxes or bags. Their portions are large here, so it should be expected to bring larger to go boxes out. I'm pretty sure she was expecting us to ask for the bill at this point. But we were celebrating birthdays and had gift cards to use so we all ordered desserts to go. We weren't in the restaurant more than an hour, but somehow I felt like she was really pushing us out the door. Overall, we will be back. Maybe just for carry out though.

Handmade table-side Caesar salad $17 for four servings. Good French onion soup, chops and lobster tail. The sour cream for the baked potato contained fresh cut chive. Delicious. CONS: Weird parking, seating cramped like sardines. Saturday evening dining room was LOUD! Could barely converse. Food is expensive: Tomahawk steak $90+. Ribeye $55+. New York Strip $50+. Most everything was ala carte. Disappointed that the Sander's hot fudge cream puff did not contain hot fudge anywhere near the taste and quality of the old Sanders recipe. Cream puff was stale too. A strong seafood smell permeated the entire restaurant. SUMMARY: Mr. Paul's Chophouse is a REAL restaurant for those special occasions. Total East side. Food is very good but not "great". Eat here for the old school vibe. Kudo's to the owners that keep it going.

We loved the entertainer, Kenny Gee, who was charming and fun...but not overly loud. The restaurant has a classy but unpretentious atmosphere with wonderful views of the water. We started with the Brie appetizer and calamari, and both were excellent. I had the pecan chicken. I'd definitely recommend it (as long as you don't mind a sweet sauce). My son had the crab cake, and my husband had the 8 oz filet with added bleu cheese butter. Both the guys really enjoyed their dinner (although my son was stuffed from eating too much of the good bread and butter)! We did not save room for dessert, unfortunately. Everything started off fine -- she took our drink and appetizer order, and when the drinks arrived, we let her know we were ready to order dinner. About two minutes after placing our order, our salads came out, and maybe 10 minutes later our dinners arrived... but still no appetizer. When she set down my steak, I told her we would just pass on the appetizer at that point. Her response was, "Oh, I forgot." On top of that, my mother's steak was not cooked correctly. We also got our food so quickly that the table next to us -- who had been seated before us -- actually asked how we managed that. I jokingly told him, "Have a server who judges you by what you wear." After dropping off the food, the only other time we saw our waitress was when she brought the bill. This is now the second time in a row I've received horrible service at this place. Time to start taking my business to a different steakhouse.
