Every time Virgil and Dan have shown up, they are in full professional mode, assessing the situation, making sure we have everything needed for a smooth setup. These last couple of visits have been in Covid-time, and they wore masks the whole time. I'm grateful for the couple of times when I couldn't figure something out with our system, and called Virgil, who cheerfully got me on the right path. I would use Universal again, and give this company my whole-hearted endorsement.

Once he was here, we asked him his opinion on two wall switches in a different room that were not working, and he stayed longer (while I ran to Home Depot for new toggle switches) to fix both of them as well for just a little more added to our total. The fan install was a little more difficult than Ted anticipated, and it was an insane night in our home as well (my husband's car was at the shop and he needed it for work the next day so we had to get that taken care of while Ted was here working) - I'm sure he thought we were nuts, but he was very gracious and understanding about everything! The end results look great, and I am SO happy our light switches are working again - all of this was done for a third of the cost we were quoted by someone else to just do the install and paint the office ceiling (we ended up doing the painting ourselves anyway). We will definitely be calling on Ted in the future for all our other electical needs - he is knowledeable, quick, and neat. Thanks, Ted! I used Total Control Home Solutions to install and update home automation products in my house…read more Previously, I had a contractor install a few of the switches and I tried to install a few switches. It was a hassle, because the contractor and I would have to go and turn off the power, because we could not do the work with live power. Their electrician did the work in significantly less time than it took for the contractor and I to do the same amount of work. Plus, they fixed my work where I made a couple of mistakes. While the electrician was working on the switches, the other person was working on setting up the programs for controlling the lights. They did an excellent job. I can control my lights from anywhere in the world, where I have an Internet connection. I have my outside lights set up to come on at dusk and turn off at dawn. I have inside lights programmed to come on at different times. I can program the lights to come on differently each day, if I want to do that. One of the guys shows me the cameras in the inside of his house and he can turn on and off the lights from my house, which is in a different city. I think the technology is awesome. They also can automate your garage door, thermostat, security systems, etc. I did not do the garage door, but I think that I will do that in the future. It allows you to see if you forgot to close your garage, and you can do this from your home or from anywhere you have an Internet connection. You can then open it or close it from a web connection. The thermostat service is also nice, because you can regulate the temperature from anywhere. However, my budget did not allow for me to get everything that I wanted done at one time. In addition, I wanted to see the quality of work that they provided. I was impressed with their work and I will definitely use them again in the future.
