Being the technotard that I am and not really caring much about TVs (as long as I have something to watch my Greys Anatomy on I'm happy) I let my hubby handle the mounting the TV on the wall details. My husband quickly discovered that Tech Connectors had deals with Costco (his home away from home) and started chatting with a sales associate, Michael, there. Michael gave him very good advice on installing the TV, as well as his new stereo system that may just cost more than my entire purse collection (and I spend a lot of $ on purses!). Michael also helped him figure out the best way to build shelves for the dvd player and tivo since we didn't have any need for an entertainment system on the wall. After a few weeks of emails over these very important matters 2 guys from tech connectors showed up and put together our brand new entertainment system! My husband was thrilled with the results (i haven't been able to move him from the couch ever since) and I have to admit the TV/stereo system looks very pretty mounted over the fire place. They also allowed me to buy my own materials including HDMI cables. In the end, Tech did the following: 1.) Adjusted mount on fireplace 2.) Installed mount for Yamaha soundbar 3.) Installed TV and Soundbar 4.) Took off existing component mount 5.) Installed two new mounts 6.) Installed IR repeater which allowed components to be rotated around corner 7.) Installed in wall HDMI cabling Michael was great, and so were the 2 people that came to do the work (sorry I forgot their names) They called to let me know they were running a bit behind (but they arrived well within their time window) and came in, did a great job and cleaned up all the dust and packaging. It did take some time getting all of the equipment & parts needed, so if you are looking to put in a system for a particular event, I would plan well-in advance. However, we were kept informed. The basement is not entirely finished because it is used mostly by my teenage kiddos & their friends, but we did want an outstanding entertainment system for them to watch movies & play games. We opted for a projector & screen. We also wanted to integrate the Philips Hue system for a backlighting on the screen that coordinates with the picture. He & his colleagues built speaker boxes for us & the frame behind the screen upon which the lighting strip would rest. It came out amazing! They did an outstanding job. One year later, and all is still running smoothly. I have not had to reach back out to them for anything so far, but I was left with a strong impression that if we needed help with anything we would just be able to call. He assessed what we had in the home currently and made a few upgrade recommendations to take our system to the next level. The logistics of buying are always taxing which is to say nothing of moving and initial setup. It was this "initial setup" where Auggie and his team's expertise shined to quickly bring our new home from an ominous "TODO list" to a place that we felt both comfortable and safe. Auggie started by first walking through the home with me and demonstrating his encyclopedic knowledge of all things pertaining to connectivity, audio & visual hardware, as well as monitoring & security. He not only used his knowledge to enumerate the options available to us but really demonstrated a commitment/empathy to our needs which were prioritizing safety, connectivity and then conservatively scaling into A/V options (having just dropped a lot of cash on a down payment). There was no upselling. He built us a min-viable plan while providing cost-tiered options thereafter (for us to both get a sense of trade-offs but also for us to have a sense of what to consider long-term). It felt selfish on my part in that I did not have to do deep research on these different subjects but rather I could pose my "stupid" and numerous questions to Auggie to be met with a quick reply that capably addressed my knowledge gap. He made it easy for us to decide to work with him. Once we aligned on scope, execution came next. On this side of things, there existed the same, relentless commitment to customer satisfaction. Despite having many concurrent projects at the time (also a good signal), they worked hard to set us up quickly after moving into our new home.
