I asked a lot of questions and like things to be particular so they did all of that. Their prices are affordable and they used clean materials. The lady who did my pedicure cut me while cleaning the edges. She was very sweet about it and cleaned it but it still hurt and bled. I think she looked up my shorts. I don't know what the final decision maker was for me, but I finally crossed that line and got my first pedicure. I was taken by my wife and her friend and promised an experience that would be relaxing and where I wouldn't feel out of place... well, maybe I don't fully understand "out of place", but sitting between two old ladies while some Asian lady scrubs my feet is pretty out of place for me. It's hard to review though - having never gotten a pedicure before, I had nothing to compare the experience to. But based on my expectations, what I know about pedicures, and what I picked up from a few conversations - it seems mine was average. Start to finish with a wax thing treatment, the whole process was about 20mins - which seemed somewhat quick. The lady was friendly, but didn't really chat much which I was totally OK with. Her skills seemed decent - she didn't hurt me at all, but nothing felt exceptionally good either. I kept hearing how amazing it feels and it just felt OK. Seems like "Beth" was just average at what she does. At the end of the day, like I said, she didn't hurt me or talk to me so it wasn't all that bad. I can say my wife and her friend enjoyed it much more than I did - they sat on the chairs across the room from me getting their nails done and just kept giggling when they looked at me. Is this salon legally open? I am questioning if they were even inspected prior to reopening. We could not pay with credit card, cash only. Could not walk in the front door, had to park in the back and go through the back door. Front door entrance was covered and dark to make it seem like the salon was closed. I usually go to this place regularly to get a gel mani and pedi. It's usually a really good service and the workers are nice. But my last visit was a bad experience overall. I understand that the pandemic hasn't been easy on everyone and lots of people are struggling. But The lady doing my pedicure was hurting me trying to rip the dead skin around my toes and ripped a really deep hang nail. I felt like it was a rushed experience and she did not want to do my toes. Since then I have a red bump on the side of my big toe since the pedicure and it has hurt since then. I really like this place but next time I'm going to debate whether or not I think I should go. read more

I went here last week with my best friend to get a simple no polish manicure. Literally all she did was trim and shine my nails. I declined anything extra. When I was done I asked how much and she said $17 so with my $3 tip it cost me $20 to have my nails filed! I couldn't believe it. It's unfortunate I have to write this review considering I have been a long-term customer here for years. I had a bad experience here months ago and I will never be returning. I went in for a full manicure acrylic set and everything was fine when I left. 2 days later a nail broke off in the middle of the nail while I was making my bed. Weird, I thought. Nails don't just bend and fall off by themselves. But whatever. I went back to get it replaced and they fixed it. I hate having to get a nail fixed because it's always awkward and uncomfortable. A couple days later I was on a trip and a different nail broke in the same way. I was very irritated considering I had to deal with a broken nail during the start of my trip. I called from my hotel and told them what had happened. They told me to come in when I got back. At this point I was very irritated considering I paid good money + tip to have a nice set of nails and now I have to return for a 2nd time to get them fixed. And I received zero sympathy from Kathy (the one who owns it). I didn't even get an, "I'm sorry about that." When I arrived to get my second nail replaced, I was greeted with rude stares, attitudes, and the staff seemed irritated by the fact that I was "putting them out." They fixed it and I left. Come two days later, another nail breaks in the same way. I don't know what went wrong when my nails were put on but it seemed like the acrylics were not cured and were very flimsy in the middle, hence why they were bending and falling off (not breaking from being jammed or ripped). I went in, again. At this point I felt utterly humiliated and incredibly uncomfortable waking back in there. Kathy came and looked at my nails and immediately blamed me for breaking them. She said something along the lines of, "You broke these yourself, you need to be more careful." I was very irritated. I assured her that this has never happened to me before and I didn't once break them by force. Let alone 3 times. She then said. "No, these you broke yourself." The audacity I thought. At this point she told me I needed a fill and to my naïveté, I thought it would have been complimentary for the inconveniences and frankly I didn't want to cause any more tension at that place. I received the fill in a different color and was charged full price. At this point I'm mad at myself for spending EVEN MORE money here. Two days later a different nail broke (and mind you I didn't receive new acrylics, these are the initial nails put on.) 4 nails broken in the span of 2 weeks, several uncomfortable trips and time wasted, and $100 later. The last and final time I went in I talked to Kathy again. As soon as I walked in she ROLLED HER EYES at me, scoffed and gave me so much attitude because I'm sure she knew why I was back. She quickly fixed the remaining nail and at the end she began to come at me openly and loudly, causing everyone in the salon to stare. Stating I was somehow responsible for these nails breaking, as if I wanted to keep coming back in and wasting more time and money, let alone having anxiety just walking through that door. And nail salons can be stressful enough. I was so embarrassed and I told her it was unprofessional to be outwardly rude to a long-term customer knowing I will never come back. And my entire family goes there too so they will also not be returning. Kathy BLAMING ME for 4 nails breaking when clearly it was a pattern of something going wrong from the very beginning, is a reason I will never be returning. I found a place nearby called QT Nails by the Orange Mall that is CHEAPER, does better work, and they are quick and efficient. Full set was around $35/$40 and they finished in less than an hour and the staff is oddly enough VERY friendly for a nail salon. For anyone having issues at Tustin Nails please give QT a try. You won't be sorry. To end this long story, I just want to say that ANOTHER NAIL DID break the same exact way as the other 4 did a couple days later, but I wasn't about to dare go back. It just solidified the fact that I will never return there even as a last resort. read more

Although I only gave a 3 star rating, I do recommend this salon. Sadly, this was my first solo visit, after several visits with a friend, that I was repeatedly asked about add-ons to my service. I had asked to see the menu, picked the services I wanted, then the questions began. I also didn't appreciate the employee's demeanor everytime I declined extra services. The salon is clean, staff is mostly friendly, and my nails look great. I gave the employee something like 30% for a tip! I previously had a butterfly nail design but just wanted a fill, I feel with sanding down and applying enough acrylic it could've been covered maybe even with just another coat or polish but she didn't seem to care, she also made them super thin , she asked if I wanted a "line design" and I asked her what that was exactly and she rolled her eyes at me. I had the owner, Kathy, do a full set for me. Mid-way into my service, she begins to raise her voice at me to put my phone down (I was just trying to show her a picture of the nail shape), however I felt intimidated so I immediately put my phone down & sat there quietly for the rest of the time. My service probably would have finished sooner, had she not answered phone calls the entire time. Just a tip,if you know you're going to be busy, have someone else designated to take the calls & check availability. I understand once or twice, but throughout my ENTIRE appointment she sat on the phone or got up to check her book. Once again, I was very understanding & didn't make any comments. I was pleased with how my nails turned out after an hour ish. 3 weeks later, I came back to get a fill & a pedicure. I called 2 days in advance & Kathy booked my mom & I at 3:00pm for the upcoming weekend. We arrived at the nail salon 5 min. early & begin picking our colors. One of the workers takes my mother in & begins her pedicure. I awkwardly stand around for 5-8 minutes..looking & waiting for someone to appoint me to a chair for my pedicure. After waiting for several minutes, I finally get a chair! But wait..they turn on the water & let my feet soak in the water for 30 more minutes!! I had two different ladies come look at my toes & then get up & walk away?? Let me repeat..I had my appointment at 3:00pm. My pedicure service did not start until 3:37pm!! That's absolutely ridiculous. By the time my lady began cleaning my toe nails, my mom was already receiving her manicure. Yet again, I did not make any comments to any of the workers, I appreciated the lady who did my toe nails - she did a great job (Wish I remembered her name to give her the credit she deserves). Now onto my fill..my mom grew concerned & began looking around to see if there was someone she could ask to do my nails -- by this time, my mom was already finished. This meant that she had to wait another hour until someone did my fill. Had we received our services at the same time as I booked our appointment, we would have been done quickly and at the SAME TIME (we were at the salon for two hours and 1/2.... just to put into perspective for you all). BEWARE; when you make appointments, you will be asked to wait several minutes or up to half an hour! Continuing..Kathy decided to do my nails and it started off well! She knew exactly what shape I wanted and moved fast. I got my hopes up yet again...she begins answering phone calls and repeatedly gets up during my service to speak to people at the counter or order people to their chairs. Where were you when I was standing around hoping to get a chair for my pedicure!? Anyway, one of the things that really bothered me was the fact that a customer called & when she hung up she began talking to me about the customer -- "What kind of person calls, and doesn't know what they want for their service??" First off, I do not care what your customers say to you on the phone. Second, this was my second time here -- I have not built any kind of connection with you to talk about the "clients" you get. Third and most importantly, you should never speak badly about your clients with other customers!!! Again, my nails were nice at the end of the service. That same day, my nail chipped and I so happened to be in the Tustin area the following day. PERFECT, I could stop by and have Kathy quickly fix my nail..this shouldn't be a problem. But of course..it was! I walk in and immediately hear Kathy yell from a corner "CAN I HELP YOU?" I kindly ask if she can fix my chipped nail and I show her how minor the chip is from afar. She looks down and continues to tell me "BY APPOINTMENT ONLY." I tell her "Kathy... I was just here yesterday, I don't live in this area and I just need one nail fixed please." Again, she repeats "nope, sorry, by appointment only." By this point everyone in the salon was staring. I tell her, "For one nail, u want me to book an appointment?!" I'm sorry, but who in the world!!! FOR ONE. NAIL. I NEED TO BOOK A WHOLE APPOINTMENT. She doesn't reply anymore. Had she spoken to me 'NICELY' & told me to book an appointment another day, I would've understood. Or even had someone else fix my nail, I wouldn't have minded. The fact that she speaks so rudely to her customers is one of the reasons I will never return. Not to mention, this hasn't happened to just me -- my friends and family members who recommended this salon have warned me that the owner is flat out, RUDE. The day I received my manicure, a lady who had just done her nails left home & returned a few hours later claiming that she had a "bubble" on her nail & someone needed to fix it. The worker fixed it with no problem. Kathy, shouldn't she have made an appointment for her ONE nail that bubbled?? Why didn't you tell her to call & make an appointment to fix her one nail??
